The view is enough to give this place five stars - breathtaking full length windows overlooking the river and its bridges, and Porto's ribeira and its historical colorful houses, college student filled bars and cobble stone streets.
As if that weren't good enough, the food was delicious! We went for a big celebration (80 plus people), so a big mess was to be expected - but they handled us pretty well.
We had a few choices of entrees of meat (picanha, pork, beef) or fish (bacalhau, pescada, etc), as requested per our family prior to the event, all you can eat appetizers (rissois de camarao, rissois de carne, bolinhos de bacalhau, charcuteria, bread, olive oil, cheeses, etc), and the big winner - free refills on all things wine!!
Personally, my choice was easy, picanha being my all time favorite dish. My ability to judge a restaurant by its picanha is as developed as my ability to judge a breakfast/brunch place for its eggs Benedict, if not more! And this was a delicious treat! I only regret not eating more of it, as when we got up to dance, we lost track of time and they took my plate away for dessert and cake time - ops!
For all of this, each person paid around 30 euros, which, all things considered, is a darn good deal.
Since we were there to celebrate a lot of different milestones for several people, the restaurant staff was kind enough to let us be comfortable enough on their second floor as we ate, walked around, sang and danced throughout the restaurant - while other tables in the same floor were being occupied by other people - some even decided to join us just because.
Mind you, we headed out to a few bars in downtown Porto after this, at about 1am, meaning this place was still open for us (prob not usually though) - so thank you, awesome management and staff.
All in all, this place brought me back fond memories of family and friends' birthdays, holidays, and any other event that I've been to growing up in the area. read more
