When we had to suddenly empty my late mother-in-law's large, overstuffed storage room, Big Steel…read moreBox came to the rescue. When we phoned, we got a real human who was decent, knowledgeable and helpful. The cost of their largest container was 1/5 the monthly rent at the storage facility even though it held the same amount of stuff. Our container was promptly delivered. I was clean with a dark wood laminate floor. We had the option of keeping it in our yard or having it carted away to be stored in their yard in the lower mainland, where we could request it be made available on fairly short notice. We chose to keep in our yard. In either case, you use your own lock. We used it for 5 years. It kept everything clean, bug-free and rodent-free (We have a lot of rats in Steveston.) The mice had been into the storage facility we used earlier, making a bit of a mess. (Also, rodent urine and droppings, once dry can put bacteria humans can catch into the air, so best avoided.) When it came time to empty the container, a quick call to an equally pleasant Big Steel Box representative meant it was picked up when we wanted it gone. Since you pay for delivery and pick-up when you first order it, there were absolutely no added costs. An ethical company that does what it says it will. Highly recommend for moving, short term or long term storage. To me, if you don't need fast, regular access to your goods, having them store your container is a great alternative to a storage facility. Would definitely use them again.

We needed a relatively straightforward local move, only 5 blocks, in fact, from one condo to another. I called about a dozen places and received ridiculous estimates from many of them ($1,600 for a 5 hour job? Really??). Ezmoov gave the lowest estimate and there appeared to be no hidden fees. Communication with Andry was clear, timely and straightforward. I was a bit nervous, because there weren't many reviews and the price just seemed too good. On the day, however, the guys turned up on time, in a nice truck and not obviously hungover (it happens!). They did a fantastic job, with no complaining or messing around. On top of that, they were both really nice and interesting guys, so I even had a good conversation into the bargain! The estimate turned out to be virtually spot on, nothing was damaged, payment was easy and it turned out to be the smoothest move we have ever had (there have been too many...). All this for a third of the cost of their competitors. I can not recommend this company highly enough. If you have any doubts, feel free to message me. You can absolutely trust this company.

I can't say enough good things about this company!…read more I had to move my mother from her condo of 40 years to a private assisted living condo. Meredith (owner) was not only immediately responsive to my inquiry, he was able to schedule the move quickly. My mother had been in hospital, and it was clear that she could not go back to living alone in her own home (age 97!). We found a fabulous option for her, where she could have all of her own furniture. My brother insisted on moving her bedroom on his own so she could be checked out of the hospital faster. I BEGGED him to let me hire professional movers (and pay for it) and he got angry and insisted on doing it himself. So on top of moving my mother's stuff, I had to ask Meredith to now take two pieces of furniture (that my brother damaged beyond belief in his DIY move efforts) to a furniture repair location - which he happily accommodated. Jim is prompt, reliable, polite, efficient, kind, good humoured and just great to work with - AND his pricing is very reasonable.

The moving men were extremely patient with us as we scrambled to get the rest of the kitchen packed on Day 1 while they dealt with our furniture and the goods in the other rooms of our 2 story, 3200 sq. ft. house. All the movers were hardworking, professional and pleasant to work with. We had half our goods delivered to Maple Ridge and put the other half in storage at OnTime. We had half of the stored goods delivered in 8 months time, then the rest in another year. Considering that we originally planned to have them in storage for only 3 - 6 months, Ronald was very accommodating to keep them longer and stayed in communication with us the entire time. The storage fees were reasonable and did not change over the 18 months. Positives: Excellent communication from the company. Prompt and reliable (definitely On Time and sometimes early!). Company has a limited amount of compensation for damage - review the policy and requirements (report within 2 days of delivery). Some micro-management.
