Vince kept in touch via text message regarding arrival and updates. The team takes meticulous care of your home and your belongings. They pad the floors, doorways, railings and any areas that would pose a potential problem during the move. They carefully boxed up all fragile items (TV's/lamps etc.) to ensure a perfect move. We moved to new construction and their was not a single blemish or nick in our new home and some of the areas were very tight and difficult to maneuver. They did not rush the job and would not leave until they ensured that everything we moved was in the place that we wanted. (We moved some items around in different rooms and they accommodated all of changes with a smile)... no idea how they did it :) Not only was the move sheer perfection, but you have piece of mind when you are working directly with the owners. Truly, I cannot say enough nice things about them…read more I had quite a little bit of a move from Kent to Avon and if the move from Westlake to Kent last year was any indication, I had no interest in doing it myself. Using Yelp, I sent out messages to receive quotes from various companies, and within an hour, Mount Up gave me a call. They quoted me at $300 for 3 hours plus two men and a truck big enough for my one bedroom apartment, plus a distance fee of $21.50. This was significantly less than other quotes I'd been given, plus they were available with less than a week's notice. I placed the $25 deposit right away. On moving day, they gave me a call in advance to let me know they were on their way. When they arrived, they got straight to work after assessing what I had and if/how I'd like the items to be moved (dismantled or put together? wrapped or no?) They were friendly, quick, and did the work of four men with total ease. They ensured that I did not go over our 3 hours. The only snag we hit, which we blamed on human error at the time of booking, was that if you choose to pay by card, there is a 5% fee. Otherwise, they do accept check or cash. Should I ever need to move again, I would undoubtedly book Mount Up again.

During that conversation, I asked what it would cost to add approximately 70 boxes to the move. John told me the cost would be "anywhere from $2 to $5 per box, depending on how big each box is." I told him I would discuss it with my husband and get back to him. Less than an hour later, I called back and spoke with Kevin, the General Manager, to let him know that we wanted to add the boxes. Kevin gave me a price that was above the $5-per-box range John had just quoted, with no consideration for the size of the boxes. I explained to Kevin exactly what John had told me only moments earlier. Instead of acknowledging the discrepancy or trying to find a reasonable solution, Kevin repeatedly told me that "the system doesn't quote like that," that John must have been giving me an average, or that perhaps I had misunderstood John. That was extremely frustrating. I was simply trying to resolve a pricing discrepancy between two people within the same company. Rather than taking ownership of the situation and working with me to find a reasonable solution, I felt as though the responsibility was being placed on me. At that point, I told Kevin that I was so frustrated with the sudden change in pricing and the way the situation was being handled that I wanted to cancel the entire move. Kevin did not attempt to resolve the issue or retain our business--he immediately took us off the schedule. Fortunately, we had enough flexibility with our move to take our business elsewhere. But I was genuinely surprised that a General Manager would handle a customer situation this way, particularly the day before a scheduled move. For a company with such high ratings, I expected much better customer service, communication, and transparency. My experience left me feeling that Leaders was not "leading" in those areas. I also have to question the company's "no hidden fees" claim based on this experience. From my perspective, the price changed after we had already committed to the company, and when I questioned the discrepancy, I did not feel that my concerns were taken seriously. This review is based solely on my personal experience, but I would strongly recommend getting every price and every potential additional charge in writing before committing to a move with this company.

I hesitated a bit, thinking that maybe they would not have enough movers, so he then said he would be sure to have 4 men, but requested $400. That was still very reasonable, much less than other movers I called. He arrived a week later with the truck, 3 other men, many straps to keep the piano stable in the truck. What amazed me was that he then proceeded to wrap my 60-year old piano in plastic, further protecting it from damage. The men were super polite, and they made the transport within an hour, moving into my friend's home flawlessly. I highly recommend this outstanding team! Just one more item: I did prepare a written contract with the agreed-upon quote and delivery address. Kelvin gladly signed it, keeping his copy and returning mine. This gave me peace of mind that I might not have had otherwise when hiring someone I did not know.
