Choosing Smooth Moves by Ed was the smartest decision we made all year! We had to sell and empty out our family's Northeast Ohio home of 60 years in less than a month -- during the pandemic -- while we were all scattered across the country! Professional and considerate down to the tiniest detail, Ed thought of everything and took care of it all. Every item was packed to perfection, every piece was treated with respect and care from our antique grandfather clock to a little squirrel lawn ornament. They met our very tight schedule, kept us fully informed, responded to every concern quickly and even drove it all past a hurricane to ensure everything was perfectly delivered and on time (in blistering South Texas heat no less!) Can't give them enough high recommendations! They delivered more than just our "stuff" -- they delivered peace of mind to our mother and our family. Thank you! read more

The smoothest moves he has is being able to steal 3/4ths of your items. Smoked pot in his truck for hours prior and during loading. Biggest scam of all time read more

Ed and the guys were professional and quick. There were some hiccups thru the day (unforeseen circumstances on their end), but they did everything they could to make sure our move was finished on the day scheduled. Would totally recommend and would definitely use them again! read more

Great experience. We were stood up by another company (Sunday of labor day weekend). This put us in panic mode. We contacted Smooth Moves and he said he could add us on at the end of the day. He was very good with his communications - let us know it would take longer because one of his customers moves was more involved. Eventually, we asked if we would be able to change it to Labor day. (We were tired and stressed and just not up to it). He agreed. Again he was great about with his communication. He contacted us in the morning to let us know when his crew would arrive. Once here - the 2 men were very nice, efficient and it really did go smoothly. Thanks for salvaging what started out as a very bad day. If they continue to do business this way - they will be very successful. read more

Met Ed in North Carolina, stand up guy with a good business. If you were out of gas on the side of the road he would fill you up no questions asked. read more

Hired Ed while he was in NC to deliver kitchen cabinets I purchased. Had difficulty reaching him during the move. I have since realized I am missing 2 large granite countertops and 2 base cabinets. Texts and messages through Facebook have not been returned. read more

Smooth Moves by Ed - Movers Near Me

Ed and his team were so kind and professional. They were very flexible and willing to wear masks. Their price is very fair. We've moved across the country a couple of times and have had many moves. These guys are very experienced. We are so grateful Ed was willing to help with our last minute move so we could get settled quickly. Support this small family owned business, you won't regret it! read more

I had mentally written numerous positive reviews for this company. I had received a glowing personal recommendation and wanted to support this fledgling company. When Ed came out to do the initial consult -- to determine how much I had, how much the move would be -- he instilled confidence. He was pleasant to deal with and seemed knowledgeable. However, once I agreed to go with him, he was slow to respond to texts and/or phone calls. Megan was more responsive, but didn't always know the information because Ed had it. We scheduled my date. However, he never showed up! Finally, I managed to reach Megan and was informed that Ed was "stuck on a job in NC." I understood and was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that "things happen." We eventually rescheduled for the following week. Of course, this did result in extra expenses on my end (double-rent, etc.). But, I was willing to accept that it was an anomaly. Prior to the Tuesday move, I contacted THEM on Friday for confirmation. I received confirmation on Sunday and was told I'd hear from them on Monday re: exact timing. Monday afternoon I reached out to them. Ed never responded and Megan told me she hadn't heard from him, but she'd let me know as soon as she did. Eventually, after 11:00 pm, Ed let me know that he was on his way back from NC and would be at my house at 11:30 am -- ready to go. At 11:00 am -- 30 minutes before he was scheduled to show up -- he called and told me he was 1 hours and 45 minutes from the state border. He'd been driving all night!!!! I suggested he might need to rest. He eventually said he'd come by "early evening for staging" and then load up and move the next day, Wednesday (8 days after the original date). I didn't hear from him until after I texted him at 11:20 PM. By that point, I was nervous about his complete and repeated lack of communication throughout this whole scenario. I started to get concerned with him having my stuff in his truck and not communicating where he was or when I'd see anything, I have heard enough nightmare stories about movers. I'm still waiting for my $150 deposit to be returned. In short, he MAY do a good job -- if he ever shows up -- but I was suffered emotionally, financially, and even physically due to his lack of communication and professionalism. IT'S NOT WORTH IT!!!! read more

Movers were very professional, pleasant and efficient. Would recommend if you are in the moving process. Price seemed overall reasonable but perhaps a little higher than some competitors. read more

I had some lot I had won at an online auction and Ed helped me with getting it shipped to Los Angeles. Ed did an excellent job with the coordination and communication of getting the item picked up and shipped. I recommend Ed for your moving needs. Thanks! read more
