I was SO excited to try this place after reading all of the wonderful reviews and am incredibly disappointed that I can't give A List Nail Studio a 5 star review. My $50 dip manicure chipped after only ONE day. I've been getting dip manicure for months at my old salon (had to change due to moving out of state) and my manicure would last more than 3 weeks without chipping, which is why I always spend the extra money to get dip. Needless to say I'm frustrated that this manicure barely lasted one day, especially since it's more expensive than what I previously paid for. I was also pretty disappointed in the overall service I received. My nail artist was Maleena and I have to say she wasn't very friendly (I had a 2 hr appointment since I had a pedicure done too). She barely said more than a few sentences to me the entire time. She also took a personal phone call in the middle of my appointment which isn't a big deal but did kind of throw off the vibe. The other nail artist seemed really friendly and if I were to come back I'd book with her instead. The salon itself is super cute. Incredibly clean and very well decorated. Honestly I will probably try this salon one more time since all of the previous reviews were so stellar. Disappointed that my personal experience wasn't as such. read more

Came here for mani-pedi. I walked in and there was no one at the front desk or anywhere nearby. After standing there for about 3 minutes, someone came out of the back nail area to greet me. My nail technician was nice. We didn't chat much (which I honestly don't mind at all). She did a nice job on my pedicure and basic gel mani but the artwork designs weren't great. The general atmosphere is nice, too. Very quiet and private, only a couple of chairs. Honestly for the prices and what they post on their social media, I expected the artwork to be executed a lot better. Probably won't return. EDIT: In response to the owner's strange suggestion that I must have visited a different nail salon, just adding a photo of my appointment confirmation here (at 2013 Sansom St, 2nd Floor). Do not get your fills here! I came here on September 17th to get an acrylic fill by Maleena. This was the first time I got a fill (after the first time getting a full set somewhere else) so I didn't know what to expect. The design I received was not as crisp as previous places I have gone. I also noticed that I had pink/purple ring around my nail beds. The fill was also $70 (excluding tip), which was much more than I expected. But, because I am new to getting acrylics, I was decently happy and shrugged it off. I just got my acrylics off at another salon. The technician immediately knew that Maleena had damaged my nails by using the drill too hard causing an indentation (see photo). I will now have to wait a significant amount of time for my nails to grow out the indentation, which can now only be covered by dark polish. My nails are also sore where the indentation is. I feel like I wasted my money on an alright fill and now have significant damage to my nails. I wish I could get my money back! read more

Booked an "Acrylic Ombré" after not having my nails done for a while - have some body-focused repetitive behaviours that get worse w stress and acrylics are the only way I found to prevent continued harm. Ended up selecting Maleena - never had an acrylic ombré before so was quite excited. I've been to 3 other nail salons in Rittenhouse and was really only impressed with A List. Went here on a whim because it's 3 blocks away from my apartment. I showed Savon pictures of what I wanted and got exactly that! She is so sweet and has a relaxing energy about her. You can tell she is meticulous, detailed, and cares about her work-not sloppy at all. I had two broken nails and she was able to quickly get them patched up and ready for gel. I just had my first experience at A List Nail Studio the other day and it was the best experience I've had getting my nails done in YEARS. The Salon is a little hidden from the street, as there's a lot of construction going on just outside of the building, but once you go upstairs to A List, the interior is very clean and very nicely decorated. Savon is all about quality over quantity (I'm pretty sure that everything is by appointment only). This meant I did not feel rushed at all like I have at other salons. Savon took two images I had found on Instagram and combined them into a gel design that I love so much. She took her time and did a fantastic job. Throughout the entire process, she'd ask me if I liked the colors chosen, the thickness of the lines, etc. -- constantly making sure that I liked my nails! :) At the end, once she was all done with the design (just prior to the topcoat) she asked me again to look at my nails and if there was anything that I'd like changed or adjusted. We changed the color on some of the nails to get everything just perfect. In past experiences at other salons, I've received eyerolls if I have asked the nail artist to adjust something (and since then am hesitant to speak up if I don't like something so I often end up leaving a little disappointed with the result). At A List Studio, it was totally the opposite -- Savon was so happy to make any changes and the whole experience was really refreshing.
