I have very dry skin and don't wear makeup often so she provided good guidance and expertise. My makeup lasted all day for the trial and day of (through many happy tears!), didn't dry out my skin and felt very light and comfortable. I found Le Tran (@loveleartistry) on Instagram and loved her work right off the bat! As someone that doesn't wear makeup on a regular basis at all, I was really putting a lot of trust in my HMUA. From her portfolio, I could tell she had a lot of experience working with asian eyes (monolid)/hair (heavy/straight), both of which I've had issues with previous artists in the past. Le was incredibly on top of her communication and quick to respond to my questions. She was very professional and even organized a slidedeck of inspiration photos for each of my bridal party members. We scheduled my trial the week before my wedding and we were able to figure what I liked and didn't like. She was very receptive to feedback and made adjustments on the spot to make sure I was happy with the overall outcome. On the day of, Le and her assistant (Nancy, @phacesbypham) arrived to our hotel room 30 minutes early to set up and even brought additional lighting. They were able to get through the bridal, bridesmaids, and mothers HMUA as promised in their schedule. We actually even finished earlier than expected. Everyone was so happy with their looks and all of us got many compliments! Le and Nancy also gave us little touch up bags so we could continue to look our best throughout the night (including lipstick, which was a lifesaver). This review is for Jennifer Vo. I have very dry skin, and it was not easy for Jennifer to work with me. I also don't do makeup; therefore, I couldn't give her any context regarding what works well or not for my skin. I went in for a trial, and she spent a lot of time ensuring I was happy with my makeup and hairstyle for the wedding. I asked for very light makeup, and she recommended slightly darker for photography. Everything was great once we wrapped up the trial, but then afterward, the makeup became rather flaky. This was when I learned that I have very dry skin. I contacted Jennifer immediately, and she quickly proposed that we do another trial for free to ensure I would look good for the big day. She came by my place not once but twice to test the different foundations, and we learned that air spray was the best for my skin. I am thankful that Jennifer did not give up on my skin and tried many methods to resolve the problem. She was also great with the hairstyle and gave me two options to try out, that part was pretty easy compared to my dry skin situation. I would highly recommend Jennifer to any future bride-to-be. I found Dantam through A-list Makeup and was fortunate enough to be able to work with her for my wedding ceremony this year, which was postponed from 2020. Ngan Bui did my hair and makeup for my wedding last weekend and I cannot recommend her enough! We first did a trial run back in April the morning of my engagement photoshoot and both my hair and makeup lasted all day and night. On the morning of my wedding day, Ngan and her 2 assistants came to my hotel room right on time and quickly set up their stations before my bridal party arrived. I had 6 bridesmaids and 2 mom's all do hair and makeup with me and they were able to complete everyone's look in under 4 hours. What I love most about Ngan's work is her attention to detail. At my bridal trial, she noticed that one of my eyes looked smaller than the other that day so she added extra false lashes to even them out. On the morning of my wedding, she noticed that my jawline was also not symmetrical (lol) so she added a bit more bronzer to one side of my face. I've used three ladies at A-List Makeup for various life events over the last 1.5 years (yeah, a lot has happened). I originally selected Marilyn for my bridal hair and makeup for my wedding, so we did a bridal trial together. Unfortunately she was unavailable when my photographer was able to do an engagement shoot, so I had Cherie for my photoshoot then. She was also really sweet and I loved her work as well! We ended up canceling our wedding due to covid ;(, but I used our postponed date to schedule a maternity shoot with Dantam. After browsing through numerous MUA, I fell in love with Ha's "natural" style (check out her work on IG @beautywith.ti) For the engagement photos, we wanted to mimic the wedding day setting so I had make-up applied in the morning before photos were taking at 6pm. The hair and makeup held perfectly, even without the setting spray she used on the big day. I liked her work so much, that I decided to splurge and add my mother, mother-in-law, and sister to my wedding package. Due to COVID, her prices had gone up since I had originally booked my own hair/makeup, but she gave me a discount on her new rate. She was a consummate professional on the day of. She worked non-stop on all four of us for five hours, even though I practically begged her to take a break and eat/drink something lol. Ha had requested photos of hair/make-up styles that we wanted beforehand and everyone was very satisfied with their final look. My mom and sister both have very sensitive skin, which Ha also screened for ahead of time, and neither of them had any adverse reaction to her products. You'd think it would be awkward to have your face be so close to someone else's for so long, but Ha kept conversation natural and light so I never felt like I had to maintain conversation but also did not get bored during the TWO hours it took for bridal hair and makeup. She also made sure to leave me a touchup kit before she left. I would definitely recommend Ha for your big day (or any other special occasions that require her hair or makeup services)! Just a small thing: make sure to double check your balance. I had the wonderful opportunity to meet with Jennifer Vo to do my makeup trial a few weeks ago before my wedding that is coming this March. I requested my makeup to be soft glam which she did fantastic on! A couple of highlights: - Extremely professional: Le is communicative, prompt, and organized. Most importantly, I wanted an artist who could fit in my budget. From her portfolio, I could tell she had a lot of experience working with various Asian brides and bridal parties. I opted for a bridal trial with Jennifer to ensure her work would fit my needs and inform her of my wedding details. The trial was straightforward and easygoing. She was patient and took her time to work on my makeup and hair, and provide feedback. My only constructive feedback was that Jennifer did have a mix-up on the bridal appointment, but she was able to quickly pivot and meet me on our original scheduled appointment date. Jennifer was incredibly on top of her communication and quick to respond to my questions. After the bridal trial, Jennifer followed up regarding my makeup and hair after a day, and I was happy to book her. She was receptive to my feedback and communicated her plan to make small adjustments for my day of. On the day of, Jennifer and her assistant (Ti Nguyen) arrived at our venue. Jennifer arrived a few minutes early and had her stuff setup while her assistant arrived shortly after. It was fortunate that Jennifer had worked at our venue previously so she knew to bring her ring light due to the lack of lighting at the venue. They were able to get through the bridal, (3) bridesmaids, and my MIL HMUA as promised in the contract. However, her assistant had to leave an hour early which was a slight deviation from our contract, so I did feel like the artists rushed my bridesmaids a bit. Fortunately, I did tell my bridesmaids to come at least 1/2 hour earlier as advised by my wedding coordinator, and Jennifer assured me she can finish everyone on her own. Though this was a slight inconvenience, we finished earlier than expected. Everyone was happy with their looks! Jennifer gave me a little touch up lipstick so I could continue to look our best throughout the night. I would recommend Jennifer as she did a great job with my hair and makeup, and I was extremely satisfied with her work. Despite the slight inconveniences, I think Jennifer was able to address them and try to work with me to resolve them. Dantam is amazing! I just had my wedding this past weekend, and she was absolutely amazing. She had previously done my best friend's makeup and hair for her wedding back in 2021, and now it was my turn :). I never would have imagined how beautiful it would make me feel. All the photos and photobooth pictures I've seen so far, my make up did not budge. The veil looked so good in my hair as well. I got my wedding hair / makeup done by Cherie Vo (@beautywithcherie), and she was amazing! She had made the entire process very smooth for me (highly appreciated since there are already a lot of other details that the bride has to figure out for wedding). I initially had found her through the recommendation of a friend, browsed her portfolio and instagram page and really liked the styles on there. Reached out and she was very quick to respond and explain the entire process with A-List. We set up a trial where it was very apparent that Cherie is warm, friendly, and wants to also get to know her clients. Once I had decided to move forward, Cherie then figured out the logistics with setting up 14 MUHA services (7 hair, 7 makeup), not including my own. She recruited her own assistants (Jaylyn and Cathy - also would recommend them!) and created a schedule for me. Once my wedding coordinator stepped in, Cherie was able to directly organize things with her so that I didn't need to worry much at all. Throughout our communications, it is clear that Cherie is responsive, detail-oriented, and very professional. I also really appreciated how when I needed some suggestions she was happy to provide them, yet encouraged me to make my own decisions about things. They both did such a fantastic job, everyone's makeup and hair looked great and they were able to adapt to different styles and requests. I hired Cherie for my wedding day hair and makeup and she was great! Starting with when I first reached out to her, she was prompt in her email responses and clear on pricing and services offered. She was also very flexible and patient with all of the changes we had to make due to COVID throughout the entire planning process.
