Reviewing this salon as a returning customer. I got my haircut from Holly. I went in for a basic trim and I was pretty happy with the results. It's a no frills hair salon. They don't use the most fancy hair products or hair tools but it's a solid choice for a trim every quarter. I got an appointment slot of my choice when I booked 2 days in advance with my choice of hairdresser so it's convenient as I don't need to plan way in advance. I was happy with the attention to detail from Holly and with the length of hair she trimmed. She is very thorough at her job. The only thing I have to point out to them which I have noticed at every visit is to request them to apply heat protectant before they use the hair dryer. I wish they kept that in mind on their own. This is irrespective of the hair dresser at this salon. I think their prices are quite fair for the services they deliver. I will continue to visit them for my hair trims in future as well. As I walked to the entrance, the employee saw me approaching and immediately started closing the door. This time, I went to get a long cut+ no-bleach baby light/balayage to give my hair a bit of texture and my hair turned out fantastic! I'm very happy with the results. Vy did a great job. Although quality and service were great, I'm posting 3 stars because I believe I was initially misquoted :/ I sent Vy a photo of my hair and was quoted 180 and up + 40-55. At the end of the appointment I was told the total came out to $330 pre-tip, which is about $100 over the quote. I understand that I have long hair and I already walked in expecting to pay more than the quote, but I feel that a 40% price bump was excessive... Again, I'm really happy with the work and honestly I wouldn't have minded the price if it was communicated to me ahead of time, but I left feeling pretty blindsided. I called to book an appointment on Saturday and they had time for me the next day on Sunday at 12. I was able to get seated and assigned a stylist pretty quickly! I forgot her name though unfortunately but she was really nice. I asked for a layered cut with face framing layers and my hair felt so light and smooth afterwards! I told her that my hair was thick and needed to be thinned out so it wasn't as poofy to handle. I felt that she cut it personalized to my needs really well. I also had a brown balayage with no bleach, and she recommended that for my natural black hair so it would be low maintenance and I love how natural it looks! I decided to give Simple Hair another try after a disastrous experience last year. My sister goes to simple hair frequently and swears by their perms. The first time I went was amazing. Second was awful. Figured I'd try again! I called early around 945 and they said I could walk in and the wait would not be too bad. I arrived and signed in and was helped almost immediately. The owner (Vy) I think recognized me from my sad experience last time and she told a guy named Paul to help me. Paul cut my hair and washed my hair really nicely. He took his time measuring everything out to ensure I'd have the volume I wanted. He was gentle and seemed very kind. When it came time for the spiral curls, Vy came by and helped out so it would move faster. It took a little under two hours and results are much better this time than last. Now I know who to ask for and what to ask for! Total was $190 not including the tip to both Vy and Paul. This should last me about 6-8 months i hope! It's much more even this time and the curls start higher and I don't look like Maui from Moana hahahahaha. read more

Horrible customer service. Came in and was greeted so rudely. They're very strict with walk ins, so make sure you have an appt. I got my haircut by Vy because everyone said she's so good. My hair wasn't even styled after my visit when I was told it would be. They only straighten your hair at the end of your visit. No blow out. Vy cut my hair and now I have a lot of split ends. She cuts your hair while it's dry and just sheers her scissors through your hair and not cut it. Place is good if you want a cheap haircut with rude workers. The good: For sure, Simple Hair is a nice Salon run efficiently and quick service! BUT, the bad: The stations are always busy, sometimes some stations look a little dirty and the hair implements don't get cleaned between every customer. Some ladies at certain booths are hard to understand and they are brisk (so my earring got yanked twice cause the rush to comb and complete the styling). The not good at all: their hair wash "beds" stations are dirty, and it's not good for a person recovering from back surgery or anyone with any kinda back injury - it's a odd flat bed style hair wash bed. Overall, a good place and definitely go. Make it very clear about what you want done with the gentleman at the checkin billing booth. He can communicate with the ladies! After years of going down to SoCal to get my hair done, I think I've found my new go-to salon! I found simple hair through Yelp and liked that they had good reviews. I did see some reviews (either on Yelp or Google Reviews) warning about rude front desk staff, so I was prepared when I called to make an appointment. When I called to make an appointment, I asked to schedule with Holly, and luckily, she had appointments available the following day. The person I spoke with mentioned that they have walk-in available, but the wait can be up to a few hours and does not guarantee a specific stylist. You'll just get whoever is available. I asked about their price range, and I was told the price range is $40-$55. I was just going in for my yearly haircut. Nothing too special, just a long layered cut with some thinning since my hair is thick. Since it was a yearly haircut, I had a lot of length to cut (about 4 inches). Come the day of the appointment, I checked in and wrote my name on the clipboard when I arrived. The waiting area was full, and there were even people waiting outside. People were still coming in here and there to inquire about their wait time. Even though the wait was "a few hours," some people still decided to get on their walk-in list (maybe they were going to run errands as well in the meanwhile?). I came in with photos of the hair cut I would like. We agreed on the length to cut, and she started chopping my hair. What I appreciate about Holly is that she checked in frequently to make sure that the length and thinness is what I wanted. I ended up cutting another 2 inches more than what I originally had planned. My total was $50. It has now been 3 weeks since my haircut, and I still love my haircut so much. My hair is now lightweight and has some movement and shape to it. I feel like I save so much time with washing and drying my hair now. They are located in the same plaza as Marina grocery store. My relative just wanted a question about her hair, she didn't want to cut her hair today at all and we arrived there 30 minutes before they closed and than we were met by a really rude staff she was shutting the door in our faces and shortly she opened the door and only stuck her head out to talk. My relative told her she just wanted an opinion on her hair but than that lady ended up saying that all the other staff left but when we looked there was tons of people inside still getting their hair done?? This time, I wasn't able to make an appointment in advance, so I walked in. A hairstylist asked whether I had an appointment or was a walk-in. When I told her I was a walk-in, she abruptly told me they couldn't accommodate me. What bothered me was not that they were unable to take me, but the way it was communicated. She didn't ask what service I needed, offer any alternatives, or suggest making an appointment for another day. The salon normally closes at 7:00 PM, and it appeared there was still time before closing, so I was left wondering why I couldn't be helped. The first time I came here, Kim did my hair and she did an amazing job. I was sad a few days ago I went in and found she wasn't there. I tried out Holly and she did an okay job but I realized when I got home a small part of my front section was a bit choppy and one side was way shorter. I tried to go back to get just to get a few layers added in that small section so it would look nicer. She went in and cut so much. Ended up looking more choppy and WORSE than what I came in with. Now a few sections of my hair look choppy, uneven and super short. I even tried to explain to her how she could fix it and she said "it's because you straighten your hair too much" instead of considering that's how I do my hair and I want it to look good even if I "only straighten it" . Made an appointment to give this place a try and I would not recommend this place at all. When I arrived, I was asked to sign-in on a sheet of paper. (That was weird, usually I do that when I am putting my name on a waitlist for a restaurant). Then I waited for 15 minutes until I was asked to go to my stylist chair. (Again, I am new customer so I didn't even know how my stylist looked). I sit down and we are going over what services I was getting done and she tells me that my appointment was only for a haircut. The appointment I made was for a cut and color/root touch up. She tells me that she only has time for a cut because her next appointment was coming and she didn't have time. I drove from Dublin so this was an hour of my day wasted. All this to say, this place has very poor customer service and not a place that prioritizes their customers.
