I woke up Saturday morning with an urge to cut my hair. I was browsing various salons on YELP and happened to come across this location as it was right down the street from where I live. called this location on a Saturday afternoon asking if they were accepting walk-ins and the lady I spoke to on the phone said yes. I came in 10 minutes later and upon walking in I was approached by the lady I spoke to on the phone, her name was My. She was the absolute sweetest lady ever! She took me into her chair and asked me what I wanted. I told her my hair was dead (I was previously blonde then went brunette and just got tired of my hair breaking from brushing my hair) I told her I wanted a medium length, straight blunt cut. She listened to my concerns and even had suggestions on how to take better care of my hair. She then washed my hair and started snipping away. She cut it medium length and last minute I wanted to cut it shoulder length LOL. I just wanted to start all over again as my hair grows pretty fast anyways. She was so sweet and didn't even mind that I wanted to cut more off last minute. When I tell you she took her time with my hair, she took her time! My was so easy to talk to that it felt like I knew her forever. I can honestly say that I'll be back to see her for all future hair cuts and trim touch-ups! I have been looking for a salon here in the area where the hairdresser really knows how to cut hair! On impulse, I decided to try the hair cut at Hair Plus since it is very near our house (I had been to several in the past). Am glad I did! Upon entering, Yvonne immediately approached me and asked what I want. I told her I wanted my hair roots dyed and have a hair cut to remove the split ends. The moment Yvonne started cutting my hair, I can immediately see that she is professionally trained. I had a salon back in the Philippines so I know when a hairdresser is really trained. Been getting my haircut here for about a decade now (used to go to their old location next to Staples before they moved next to TK noodle). The employees there are extremely friendly and have always given me a great experience! I love this place and have been going here for the past decade because I think the people who work there are wonderful. #UPDATE: This place is open as of 8/3/2020! I've been truly living the quarantine hair lifestyle and I'm glad I dropped by to see if they were open today. They have a few booths setup outdoors (with a tent for shade during the mornings) and are following standard sanitizing procedures. After every cut they sanitize all products and wipe down chairs. This would've been only a one-star rating but I'll give it a two because of my own dumb ass. First off let me say that when my family and I are in the area from Sacramento, we make our hair-need appointments with Hair Plus if needed. We were introduced to them around 2003 by a relative who first tried them and obviously it became a word-of-mouth. So if you think that it was just another bad day for me and quick to go on Yelp, I beg to differ. Times change. Before, it was just a simple tapered or a fade-zero with spiked up hair and now there are comb-overs and whatnot. Barbers improve, their equipment gets better, and the next thing you know you have a perfect lineup from just a blade. Back in 2017 I grew my hair shoulder length but of course before going overseas I wanted a nice haircut. My younger brother recommended someone who's name I won't be disclosing. The first haircut by him was perfect and I loved it, but as time progressed, I noticed that he started becoming more of a hair consultant. Honestly, just cut my hair the way you first did that gave me a Joker smile, let me pay you, and let's get on with the day. I eventually stopped going to him until he became my last resort. I feel that same vibe from Hair Plus now. I got a few cuts by Yvonne back then which I liked and then Kim took over. And it's not that I prefer Kim over Yvonne but I just somehow transitioned to getting cuts by her which is nothing negative. Like I said, let's get a haircut, I'll pay, and let's get on with the day. Not to sound like a bitch but no need to have the same repeated conversations that don't go anywhere. Then I heard a consultation again such as, "Oh, no one gets those haircuts anymore, especially a line" and "You're asking for a K-Pop style." What?! I'm only asking for what I consider my basic military cut style in which I can't comprehend on why they can never get it done correctly when it's the same style I've been showing. I'm assuming that from the other reviews that her name is My. Today 12/29/22, she practically just buzzed through my hair after I showed her a picture of a last haircut done by regular, who unfortunately lives in Sacramento BUT is on Christmas and New Year's vacation in Vietnam for 1.5 months. And mind you, I wouldn't have returned if I disliked My's previous haircut to me which was around mid to late October. What's funny is I entered Hair Plus and I was smiling and happy that she was there but the result was devastating. And how do you think you're making me feel better by talking about your own bad hair days? She pathetically just kept talking and laughing then finally it hit her when she said that I looked irritated. How can I not be irritated when first off she already messed up but still laughing and second off, she kept cutting more and more. And sorry but not sorry to say but I won't be returning here again. Considering they know me and the style I want but keep f'ing it up, that hard-earned $20.00 can be made easily but the hair won't grow back that fast. I'll let the attached pictures speak for themselves. But why did I say in the beginning that I was a dumb ass? Because my brother recommended an app to me called theCut where I could search for barbers who can really give me that basic military style haircut and I didn't use it. I feel a sense of discrimination even though I've been there a couple times and tip decent. So I just walked up and left because I had to be somewhere. At the moment I am still trying to recover from the recent bad work done on my eyelash extension 1 week ago from this place... I have had individual eyelash extension done in the past elsewhere- looks great & natural; gradually falling off over the course of 3/4 weeks. This time before starting- i already told the tech my eyes are very sensitive & if she can use glue meant for sensitive eyes. I wished she would have just been honest & told me she didn't have it; instead My eyes constantly teared for 1/2 hr afterwards bc the fumes from the glue used was so strong. In addition- instead of individual natural lashes places as advertised thru Groupon; the 8 or so knots/ clumps of cheap plastic lashes placed on my lash line is now taking off all my natural lashes as it falls out. I'm not sure what's worse- hoping they all fall off soon so I get this over with; or worrying bout not having any lashes left once they fall off?!?! For me- this is a valuable lesson about getting what you paid for. I'm so turned off by this whole traumatic experience- I will never do eyelash extensions again; or use any businesses recommended thru Groupon! My My My! :-) I was searching for a new spot to get my hair done and stumbled upon this salon- so glad I did!! My is a true professional, she started by coating my hairline with Vaseline to minimize color on my skin, she then precisely put the color on my roots. After the color was done she rinsed me and gave me the best scalp massage and because earlier I mentioned that I had a headache, she massaged my neck... yeah my headache went away! She trimmed about 1.5/2 inches to even out previous cuts I got elsewhere and again, she is so precise and listens to what you want. I will DEFINITELY come back! Top it off, she is so sweet!! I've been going to this place for two years for a cut and blow-dry. I have always been decently satisfied with my hair, which is why I'll give them two stars, and not the one star that I desperately feel like giving them after today. I always come in with an appointment and wait a standard 10-15 minutes, which I don't really mind. This time, I had made an appointment a few days in advance, came in, and was told they were running a little late. I waited a total of 30 minutes before I asked how much longer it was going to be, and she told me that it was going to be ANOTHER 30 minutes at least (and I could definitely tell she was underestimating to get me to stay). 1+ hours of waiting felt completely unacceptable when I had a confirmed appointment. Others who came in were told to come back in a certain amount of time, so at least they didn't have to sit around waiting wondering if they were ever going to be taken. If you're not going to honor your appointments, then please don't take them! The worst part was she didn't even really seem apologetic--safe to say I probably won't be coming back. read more

Since Cathy is no longer at this location, I now see Christy, who is also very good at eyelash extensions. She gets my sets done within an hour (which is very quick for my case) and she always makes sure I leave happy. Since my natural lashes are curly putting lash extensions on for me is not an easy task. Christy has no issue putting my set on for me and filling them every 2 weeks. She always checks in with me throughout the week and will always let me know if she have open slots that work better for my schedule. The lashes speak for themselves (see my photos). As a mother of a toddler, I was long overdue for a keratin treatment and a hair cut. I happened to be visiting my parents during Memorial Day weekend, so I thought I would give Hair Plus a try. First of all, Kim was SO accommodating! She initially didn't have any openings on the day that I requested, but she worked with her other clients to move her schedule around. My haircut and keratin treatment came out great and I'm really happy with the result. When I have previously received keratin treatments, the result has lasted much longer than expected (and I have really thick hair), so I'm looking forward to see how long it lasts this time around. So far, my hair dries in more than half the time it used to take me before. I haven't had to whip out my blowdryer or straightener in almost a month! The keratin treatment does take quite a long time, so I recommend setting aside a good chunk of time to get this done. However, it's all worth it. Kim has also followed up with me weeks after the appointment to see how my hair has been doing. I'll definitely be making the 45 minute drive from home to get my hair done here again! read more

If you want very natural looking lash extensions, this is the place to go! This was my second time coming and I was very pleased with the results as they make sure to upgrade their lash extensions when better ones come out. Christy did mine and she is really nice and friendly! She also makes me feel very comfortable by putting on the extensions gently and playing calming spa music. It makes me want to fall asleep sometimes since I feel so relaxed. It takes about an hour, but time goes by very fast! The extensions still look natural as they slowly fall out over time. When it comes off, it does not take off your natural eyelashes. The glue just loosens after showering, keeping your natural lashes still in good condition. The last ones I got lasted for about a month, which is pretty long! I highly recommend this place because it has lasted the longest out of any eyelash extension place I have ever been to and is high quality! read more

Been going to this place for hair cut for many years BUT I am totally disappointed at my hair dresser this time! She was unprofessional, rude and unpleasant. She gave me a VERY BAD and unevenly hair cut. When I asked her to fix it, she finally showed her true UNPROFESSIONAL personality. She was very irritated and kept cutting my hair shorter.. it came out more uneven layer on the left side. She doesn't bother to check it. I had to show it to her!!! Dropped in a few weeks ago for a consultation with Kim about getting some highlights done, she was able to accommodate me the same day. My hair came out better than I excepted, very natural. My hair is a bit thick and corse which required some bleaching, I have dyed my hair several times before. Out of all the times I've had my haircut here, I didn't ask what that one hair stylist's name is. That's pretty bad on my part considering I go here when I need a hair cut. X_X I think she's the owner of the store since she's almost always there every time I come here. Anyways, she cuts my hair exactly the way I like it. I ask for a crew cut and tell her my specifications as to how short on the sides and the top of my head should be. Everybody else that cuts a crew cut for me doesn't come close. She knows how crew cuts are supposed to look like. When I had long hair (horrible!), she let me record her cut my hair. It was kind of weird to ask but she let me and now I have an animated picture of my hair becoming shorter and shorter. The last time I came here, my hair cut was $11 and I think that's for men. It's different for women and children. They also do a wide variety of things like highlighting, tanning, and waxing. There's more but I can't remember them. The prices are descent here and I'm always satisfied whenever I get a haircut here. Yvonne has been cutting my hair for almost 2 years now. I always leave her a tip. They also trimmed both my twin daughters hair as well. Always did a good job. They have recently moved locations are are now next to the Noodle house and Beck's Shoes. This is a review for Cathy and her eyelash extensions. Due to my cousin's upcoming wedding we went on a search for eyelash extensions, and from the positive Yelp reviews for Cathy I decided to send her a text, as other Yelpers have mentioned. She was quick to respond and her appointment schedule is very accommodating. I've been to her twice now- once to get my initial full set and a second time for a three week refill. When you get in the room Cathy has you lay on a very comfortable bed, and then turns on some relaxing music. She is very skilled in her eyelash application and I am very impressed that she was able to make my barely there eyelashes look so full. My eyelashes are sadly few and far between, so Cathy worked her magic and gave me lashes that I love to bat around all of the time. The process is also quite relaxing, as I have fallen asleep multiple times during my visits; quite embarrassing when you suddenly twitch awake, but Cathy is kind enough not to say anything. At $99 for a first full set, you really can't go wrong. I've gotten tons of compliments from my friends and coworkers, and now I rarely even wear makeup since the eyelashes make my eyes pop already.
