He did recommend wines for us , but even then, his tone came across as condescending rather than helpful. There was very little warmth or hospitality throughout our meal, which definitely put a damper on the experience. I found out recently that they have a new owner with a different menu, and its disappointing, so this review is definitely from prior to the new owners in 2021. The food here is spectacular, it's small but cozy. The dishes are thoughtful and not too pricey. The wines are delicious, you can't go wrong with any bottle on the menu.
