I can never have too much exceptionally crafted French pastries and baked goods. A La Bakery is one of a kind and truly a gem in Hong Kong.
The bakery is just a short walk from the Central MTR station and IFC. There are a handful of tables for those who wish to dine in whether for a quick bite or full meal. The bakery boasts in its French ingredients (Perrier mineral water, flour, butter, etc) and products that are preservative free, GMO free, gluten free, artificial coloring/flavoring free). The best part is that they taste so good! Some may say that their goods aren't inexpensive, but for the quality you're getting and the amount of time invested in these products it is totally worth it.
The almond flakes apple turnover (delicious apple filling and flaky exterior), rose crumble croissant (delicate rose flavor and flaky buttery exterior), salted duck egg yolks pastry chips (addicting salty taste), choco almond cookies, pistachio cookies, French dim sum cakes (passionfruit and lychee flavors which are absolutely delectable), hazelnut latte, + caramel latte are only some of the items I've tried. There is so much more to rave about! I have yet to get my hands on a box of their mooncakes.
The paper mache dogs that sit in several areas of the bakery are cute decor that definitely gives off a charm. The friendly staff are a plus. I haven't had the opportunity to taste anything from the bakery's extension yet - ALB Kitchen, which serves a fusion menu, which seems as promising. Will return without a doubt. read more
