Javy, service tech, came to service my garage door. He was very informative about all the working parts n how they all needed to work smoothly together. He found n showed me some cracked hinges, that needed replacing before they broke. He also pointed out how worn (and some cracked) rollers. I used this business without getting prices from others because my previous experience with them was very good. I needed the receiving post repaired or replaced and the gate operator serviced. The receptionist that took the call advised me there was a service charge for house calls unless the estimate was sufficient for them to have to return with parts or materials to complete the job. On 12/31/18 Rod comes to the house within the 8 - 9 AM window. He is cleaning out the debris around the post when he stands up and says he has to go to another job. I asked him if he could give me an estimate, and he said it would be about $300. I did not see him looking at the operating mechanism so I asked him if that was the price for everything? He looked bothered by the question and I said I was not going to pay $300 for him to weld the post, I have a welder I use that could do it for less. He said he had to go but he would return later that day. When he returned it was raining and nothing else was done. On 1/2/19 Rod and a helper arrived as I was leaving. I told him the gate opener had not worked since I opened it the morning of 12/31/19 when he first arrived. Rod commented that he was not out there to break it. Later I got a call from Matt that my gate opener needed a new circuit board. I asked Matt about the total estimate for all of the work and he said he would get that for me. The next morning I realized the gate was not movable like it had been and I used a clicker to open it and it worked. No body from the store had said anything to us that it was fixed. Later we realized it was not set right; it would close automatically when ever we used it. We called the store and yes it was done and no, it should not be closing automatically. A technician came out on 1/3/19 and fixed it to where it opened and closed by the clickers or the telephone. As of 1/7/19, I still had not received an estimate and I did get the invoice. At the top of the invoice in the "Description" space it stated: STEVE CALLED AND STATED THE GATE IS HITTING A BOX AND ALSO THE BOTTOM IS WOBBLY. There was annotation about the welding job, a new board and an amount due of $800. Overall poor communications with the customer. read more

I recently had Tim from A Garage Door come out to my condo (where the HOA recently signed them on as our Garage Door Maintenance company for the building I live in). I've had an 8 month issue with getting someone out to look at this problem (all due to my HOA, not the company) of noise and the door banging. I spoke with a few people at the company to make sure they could let me know when a service person would be out and to see what had been done recently. Everyone I spoke to on the phone was very forthcoming and extremely helpful. When Tim showed up, he came upstairs in my condo to hear what I was experiencing. He proceeded to work on the components downstairs, call my phone and asked me if the noise was decreasing. He did this twice during the time he worked on the door. Before he left, I went downstairs to get my FOB and he patiently explained the work he did, also we talked about additional work that he wanted to get approval for, as these were issues left over from the previous company that did the original work. We had 2 gates installed. They were on a hill on top of 4 inches of soil on top of granite. The gates had to look well in spite of having to "go up hill". One I wanted to be wood.
