I pulled up and advised them I wished to sell them separate as opposed to selling bulk. Ensure you do this when making contact otherwise, if sold as bulk you will loose $ value. Had I sold at bulk, I would`ve gotten around $20 as opposed to the $74. If youre not on file, you will get a paper check instead of cash. The yard looks small & cramped but the guys working there are constantly moving stuff around. So please be safe.

I decided to take it in and asked another customer for help removing it. They agreed as I would pay them something. But then an employee said I cant do that it has to remain intact or else he wouldn't take the car . It was literally dangling but he threatened to deny the car . So I reluctantly agreed and I told ill just get my battery off then and be done . He scoffed again and said it was against policy and it was so out of the ordinary, asking why I was making it difficult?? I explained my intentions and my understanding of what i thought was normal. He again threatened to end the sale . Need the money I again reluctantly agreed . I left so defeated and uneasy. I returned days later to question the transaction when I saw a sign posted ,"batteries must be removed when scrapping vehicles!" I confronted the guy and he denied everything. Seems they got me for the converter and battery and I only received 140$ for the vehicle. I was so pissed I allowed that to happen .

I repeated back to him thirty-five cents? He said yes. So I went there today, had to cut open all my bags of cans, and help a worker dump my bags into their bags, and then help him lift several of their bags onto a cart to waddle over to their scale for weigh-in. The scale weight display was behind an Employees Only door, so I had to take their word on what my cans weighed. The boss-man came out from behind the EO door and handed me my money, and a receipt. He explained the figures on the receipt, at which point I noticed he only paid me twenty-five cents a pound. We went back and forth over what he told me over the phone, versus what he said he told me. I gave up, took my cash, and told him to have a nice day. I'll never go back, and I hope this saves someone else from being taken by these thieves.

I really didn't expect much, and I wasn't sure what to expect when I arrived. An older man who could have easily doubled as any of my childhood friends' tio or abuelo asked if I needed help, and I showed him what I had. I waited for about 5-10 minutes for him to determine if my stuff was indeed scrap metal, and it was. In that transaction, I made about 50 cents! Ha! I signed the receipt and carried on with the rest of my day. On the positive side, I wasn't expecting anything in return, yet I feel better knowing those door knobs and knives had a new future as they are melted down into other items than going to the dump. A few stars off because the parking lot is crazy small and the place is organized chaos, yet if you need a nondescript neighborhood metal recycler, this is your place.

Update: This place closed! Bummer!…read more This is the only consistent collection bin for clothing recycling that I have found in San Antonio. It's emptied regularly, so the clothing doesn't pile up. It's just a big bin that appears to run on solar panels (although I'm not sure if that's just for show). The speil about the organization on the side of the bin is vague and confusing, but I think that it's just textile recycling. You should take your wearable used clothes to a donation center like Goodwill. This is not the same. This is to keep your unwanted clothes out of a landfill. If you have clothing with tears or stains or shoes with worn soles, this is a good place to drop them off. There's at least a chance they'll be recycled somehow. I've not run into the issue of people "scavenging" there, but I honestly wouldn't care if they were. If someone wants to use my old stained and torn clothes, they can go for it!

Two people there were regulars because they apparently knew each other, one being the guy with a truck bed full of stuff. I say that because one asked the other if he had, "found anything good tonight". So instead of this stuff supposedly getting donated, by free, by the goodness of people, some dishonest, ugly human beings were stealing it to sell off or use for themselves. This is not how it's intended to work, and it doesn't work like this. If it got shut down then good, it's easy enough to take things to Goodwill around the corner, which is an organization we can all confide in to do their mission they've set out to do.
