I told him I had pre weighed the scrap and he proceeded to tell me the scale was calibrated by the state after he had just told the other employee that he had already removed the weight of the two plastic buckets. Once he saw that his story was bs he proceeded to deny me service and gave me 51 lbs of scrap back. So either way I am out 20+ lbs of scrap and I learned a valuable lesson. Check the scale! Wish I could give them a -5 star review but the lowest I can go is 1 star.

If you have a lot of metal when you first enter you will stick to your right because you will drive over the area that says " Truck Scale" they will prompt you when to move onto the scale. They weigh your truck and by looking right they give you a green light to go ahead. After you get the green light you drive towards the back where you unload all your metal. Once your done you will go back to the truck scale and weigh your truck without the metal. After your done you will park anywhere get off and stand in line at the cashier so they can give you a check for the amount of your metal. Now if you selling cans/ scrap stuff that isn't as large you' would drive in get off and then get asstaince that way but since we had large metal pieces our process was different. It is a crazy little process but nonetheless an experience to understand.

However on the non- ferrous materials, they do give a competitive price, and although I haven't been down there in about 1 year, I used to go there mainly because they close at 5:30pm and Northwest Recycling would close at 5pm so of I missed the deadline, i knew could take the highway down here off Colorado St. (very convenient hours) and friendly and efficient staff, as well.
