I didn't see writing a review for a liquor store on my 2024 Bingo Card but the staff here is so helpful and just plain nice. Great selection of beer and wine. I must have looked like I had no idea where to start because the gentleman working walked me right into the fridge and helped me pick out the perfect beer for hubby and a great bottle of Sauvignon Blanc for me. Terrible customer service. I am local and have valid ID and have been over 21 for quite some time and they are rude about questioning my age every time even though I know all of my information. I was even once asked snarkily who the president was the year I was born. My boyfriend who is also over 21 with valid ID got refused alchohol for forgetting which address he had on his ID. Any other place that sells alcohol nearby has better customer service for the same price. read more

Hands-down the most thoughtful liquor store/WineShop in Inyo County. *Beer *Wine *Spirits (Tequila, Vodka, Whiskey, Rum, etc) *Snacks *Cigarettes *Scratcher Cards Basically everything you need to throw a party. Mitch, the resident wine curator, and enthusiast was quick to help us with suggestions on which champagne to bring to the party. We ended up using the "Mitch Scale" to chose a few bottles of red and a beautiful Ayala Sparkling Rose to add to our champagne menu for NYE. Best prices I've found in town when compared to the two other spots I visited. Ultimately, this place has the best friendly and helpful staff, diverse selection, and an unpretentious approach to wine and liquor in town. This liquor store is not closed. They have a huge selection of items, especially wine and beer. They lack in girly drinks like wine coolers, but make up for it with everything else. For such a small facility, they have an absurd amount of inventory. read more

One star is too much. The guy with the huge beard behind the counter is extremely rude. Three of us walked in to make purchases and I forgot my wallet so he denied all three of us from making a purchase because I couldn't prove that I'm 21. I'm almost 30 years old. He then preceded to lecture me about having my wallet on me. There's plenty of places to buy liquor in mammoth avoid this place. Overpriced, dirty and rude staff. The cashier "Peter" was way too drunk/ on something to even handle himself, let alone a cash register, he denied me one tall can of coors and said "I'm too drunk and could deny me service." That was going to be my first drink of the night. He was clearly too incapacitated to even construct a coherent sentence. He makes this place an absolute joke, how pathetic of a business to consider this person as an employee. Sorry if you're going through personal issues, but figure it out A-frame. the thing I like about this place is they often have fresh but simple sandwiches, cheese, and a small yet fresh basket of apples and bananas, sometimes a peach or two. Convenient place for that reason to stop and get ice a snack/soda's for fishing or hiking in mammoth. Clean, simple environment. Very good beer selection, soft drinks as well. read more

It's not quantity it's the quality! This place is tiny but it does have some nice hidden gems in the whiskey/bourbon section. I picked up a Elijah Craig Barrel proof and an Elmer T Lee SB at a great price. If you looking for a special bottle of great whiskey I recommend finding this little place. read more

They're located directly across from Motel 6 which is perfect. Nothing special about this place, their selection is just ok. I make a stop here every day I'm in Mammoth though, need some of that liquid pain killer after a hard day of shredding if you catch my drift. read more

Appropriately named and relatively isolated along the main road, A-Frame serves as a beacon in the night for those of us returning to town from the lakes and mountains...okay, seriously, it's your standard liquor store but it IS Mammoth, so pricey, and they do offer varieties of the ever-popular Mammoth microbrew. Dog mascot snoozes on the floor and they've a bucket of cheap bottle openers for sale on the counter to save time looking for one. The interior was being painted while we walked inside, so guess you can say it's been upgraded. read more

I passed thru Mammoth Lakes. The prices are high. But that's not the problem, I stayed in town 2 days and went to A-Frame twice. Both times the workers were not polite, and while I was at the register, they were more interested in talking about their personal lives(with each other) rather that paying attention to the person putting money into the business.
