Sour Cream Coffee Cake almost gone!

Lovely bakery with many choices despite how little it is! Nice variation of muffins, cakes, turnovers, blond brownies, chocolate truffles. The owner is very charming as well.

I gave this place two stars because the owner is friendly. We drove all the way out here because the person we were visiting said they thought this was where someone they knew had gotten some delicious pastries once, although later admitted they must've been mistaken. There's no place to sit inside and only one person or family at a time is allowed inside anyway, so you have to get in and get out; no lingering. We got one of each of the two cupcakes that were available; one vanilla, one chocolate, a chocolate chip cookie because the owner suggested it and said they were hot as she had just taken them out of the oven, and an almond croissant. The cookie was okay. The cupcakes were extremely dry and tasted like they had been made days prior. The frosting on the cupcakes tasted like pure butter and had zero flavor. The croissant was very heavy and thick, not light, flaky and layered the way a croissant should be. Tunnel City Coffee, however, has amazing bakery items and an incredible atmosphere so we couldn't wait to return there.

Order cakes over the phone or pick up from the case. Friendly service.

I called to inquire about a birthday cake for the next day. On a recommendation from another Yelper, I requested the lemon cake with lemon curd filling and lemon butter cream icing. The shop was small and filled with delicious looking cupcakes and biscotti. My cake was ready on time and lovely. I also picked up a loaf of French bread ($3) The service was friendly and quick. The cake ($27) was absolutely delicious. It was very moist with a perfect lemon flavor. The lemon icing was light with the texture of whipped cream. The bread was fresh and chewy as French bread should be. I highly recommend the A Frame bakery for custom needs or just picking up cupcakes. Treat yourself! Remember to bring cash or check because she does not take credit cards!

Good coffee and bakeries. Apricot crumb cake and blueberry upside down thing we're both great. Crisply edges and fruit parts not over cooked. Also a nice quaint place in the middle of nowhere.

They offer a variety of baked goods (in the glass counter), build your own or signature breakfast & lunch sandwiches, daily soups & chowders, salads, chips, coffee, tea, and cooler drinks. They use Boar's Head meats and cheeses and they offer daily specials and catering. While I was at Norad Mill, I stopped in at The Norad Café for a light breakfast. The place was quite busy being a Saturday morning and plenty of activity at the dance studio. I ordered an Egg In A Hole BLT and a Red Velvet Donut, which came out $8 and change. The sandwich was all set in about 10 minutes after ordering. The sandwich was pretty unique (cut in half) which literally had a grilled round egg embedded in a cut hole on top of the sandwich bread (toasted rye bread) with plenty of greasy bacon strips, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, Swiss cheese (my choice), and lots of mayo. This sandwich was a bit messy to eat, but it was very darn good. The red velvet glazed donut was a good sweet treat to go along with my breakfast sandwich and my black coffee (I went to Panera earlier). I would definitely return to this little café for lunch next time I'm back in the mill.

Some signage would have helped, because we had trouble locating it on our first visit. The place can get backed up, especially when timed events are finishing up. Service is not slow when there are few people, but the kitchen seems to get backed up after a line forms. I had the black bean burrito, which was pretty tasty with cholula, and my daughter had a grilled cheese. The caesar salad my wife had was not so great, mostly due to the rock hard slabs of cold chicken breast. So, the food seems hit or miss. We really enjoyed the ice cream, house made with good flavors and served slightly soft. The service was deplorable, though it may have just been our experience with one server. The young lady taking our order was extremely rude and seemed very put upon having to take our simple, friendly order. She even disappeared mid-order to go stand idle somewhere else and it was unclear if she was coming back until I called out to her to which she snapped "I'm listening!" but it certainly wasn't clear that she was listening. I will always look past mediocre service and bad days - the service industry is tough - but the outright hostility is unacceptable in any social setting. Management should definitely be on top of this and take more care on who is placed in customer facing roles.

Luckily we beat the rush but I can understand why other helpers commented on the wait time and ordering process. We ordered the Mediterranean salad which was fresh and served with a scoop of mashed chickpeas, I hesitate to call with Hummus because I did not taste tahini and it was rather thick and chunky. Also a generous slice of tasty bread. We also got a bowl of the Ghanaian chicken soup which was fabulous!! The setting is light and bright into industrial, next to the gift shop inside the gallery.
