As far as I'm concerned, this unassuming bakery in an A-frame deserves SIX stars! Both my friend and I (we each had banana nut muffins, which were moist and warm, and I had the sour cream coffee cake and he also had a blueberry scone) LOVED the baked goods! I always make it a point to visit this unassuming yet amazing little bakery when I come to Williams College. All of their baked goods are made from scratch daily with seasonal fruits. Some of their must have items are the fruit purse which has different types of fruit inside depending on what's in season and the apple raisin muffins which have huge chucks of apple with great flavor that isn't too sweet. They also have changing daily specials which offer a wide range of baked goods that will satisfy any sweet craving. read more

I was going on a ride from Albany to Boston, and stubbled across this cute little bakery, and in a A-Frame. I had to stop... After talking for a short time I got a apple cake, and had a slice right there. It was amazing. Big apples, and tons of sugar and cinnamon. Worth the stop if you are in that area. Love the buttercream frosted cakes from this tiny, family-run bakery. The frosting is amazing -- not too sweet like the cheap grocery store cakes, and I know that they use good quality ingredients. Apple cakes and cupcakes are other winners. I find the bar cookies to be a little on the sweet side, so I can only eat a bite or two (not necessarily a bad thing!). Glad to have this bakery in the area. Love it when the baker's kids are working -- her teens are always very conscientious and polite! As another reviewer mentioned, timing can be a challenge. If you want a cake ready in the afternoon, ask for it in the morning. Seems things just move slower in the Berkshires. read more

I stopped in last week with my business partner for a snack break between jobs. We were greeted by the friendly proprietor and a case full of baked goodies including pastries, cookies, and cupcakes. I had a fruit purse and it was absolutely delicious! the pastry was flaky and it was filled with fresh peaches and blueberries, two of my favorites! My business partner ordered the same thing and he really enjoyed his too. I'm sure we will be stopping there again! read more

I live out of state and visit the area several times each year. I wasn't able to be in Williamstown for my friend's birthday and I wanted to send a tasty treat. I ignored the two 1 star reviews (out of 28 reviews), ordered a birthday pastry gift for my friend and asked Sharon if it could be delivered to my friend's home in Williamstown. What a cool little bakery. She clearly likes purple, as even the concrete slabs lining the parking lot are painted purple. The presumed owner is very friendly and seems to enjoy her job and business. She offers a wide selection of baked goods, including whole loaves of sweet breads and I believe cakes and pies. There are of course an assortment of muffins and cookies. She does offer organic fair-trade coffee, but I'm not sure from where. The prices are fair and portions generous. The muffins were fresh and delicious, just as you would expect from the aroma of the bakery. read more

What competes with fresh-baked goodies? We ordered a lemon cake filled with lemon curd for my son's birthday, with French butter cream frosting. It was so delicious! I'm not sure if it's worth making myself because Sharon got the crumb just right - moist and neither dense nor light - perfect! I'd just like to caution anyone that wants a sheet cake (1/4, 1/2, or full sheet): Sharon makes only round layer cakes due to oven space constraints....but her smallest size was ideal for our celebration. Fruit purses are scrumptious too - light but satisfying. And just thinking about Sharon's big chocolate chip cookies makes my mouth water. Yum. We've compared prices with other bakeries in Berkshire county and feel Sharon's are reasonable, but we've never tasted a lemon curd filled cake as good as hers! read more

Sharon runs a lovely family bakery in this A frame on Rt 7. Lots of varieties of fruit coffee cakes. Also cookies, brownies, cupcakes, scones and biscotti. Wonderful real butter cream frosting! My favorite are the peach blueberry fruit purses. It's a small bakery so she doesn't have everything at all times, but if you call the day before she can make whatever you want or just put a scone aside for you. Two caveats: no seating inside and they don't take credit cards. read more

Wow!, to think we almost missed this little gem. The brightly colored purple store caught our eye & we decided to make a U turn. As we walked in they were already getting ready to close for the day but no worries, the staff was friendly and so gracious. Though there was not much left, we were lucky enough to get our hands on some delicious cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies. Mmm, Mmm! Till this day, just thinking about the cream on those cupcakes makes my mouth run. The chocolate chip cookies were sooo delish. The edge of the cookies were perfectly crisp while the rest of the cookie was soft and chewy. What a delight. We will make it a point to stop there again when we are in the area. Went here with my girlfriend when we were visiting family in the Berkshires. The cookies and cupcakes were wonderful! The frosting was delicious buttercream, none of that gross fake stuff you get at other bakeries. Great prices, and every thing was freshly baked. We bought home a blueberry crumb cake to share with my family, which went over very well. :) The owner was super friendly and nice. Definitely stop by if you get a chance. read more

Am I lucky! I work with Richard, the husband of incredible owner and baker - Sharon, and our whole office reaps the benefits! FRESH muffins..full of big pieces of apples..or crammed with fresh blueberries, bananas and nuts, crumb topping...not all at the same time of course! Her cakes, cookies, and tarts are incredible. For our office monthly birthday celebrations, she aways sends a cake..today we had a moist chocolate cake, with a wonderful raspberry filling, a light raspberry butter cream frosting with fresh raspberry garnish. Gone in a flash! Everything we have had is fresh out of the oven, only natural ingredients....and better then home made. I always bring something home to my husband, who I think is her biggest fan. Worth a ride to Williamstown one of these days. I rarely give 5 stars , but would give more if I could! read more

I had the pleasure of working with A-Frame Bakery for my wedding. Sharon was incredible and create 100 of the most beautiful and delicious red velvet cupcakes I have ever seen. The A-Frame provided cupcakes for our wedding; they were utterly delicious and not at all expensive, and everything else we've had from there (a torte, a fruit purse, a cake) has also been utterly wonderful. The chocolate cupcakes with fudge frosting are especially good. The baker even agreed to experiment with a new flavor of cake for us, and it turned out wonderfully! We tried several other places in the area, and this was both the closest and the best bakery to Williamstown. read more
