I brought in a brand new winter coat that I bought that had 2 of its buttons in the pocket instead of on it. ( I got a super good deal on it!). Anyway, Beth was very sweet and friendly. I brought in my flare jeans that were way to long, I'm 5'1" so everything fits me like that. She squeezed me in and out between a client. I was there for like 5 minutes. Beth asked when I needed them by, I told her I had a concert tomorrow but I wasn't expecting them to be ready since I procrastinated. She was so excited for me and told me they will be ready this evening. She texted me 5 hours later and they were done and perfect. I called Beth 2 weeks before I needed my dress done. I ordered my dress from a bridal shop in September, had many hiccups along the way, alteration mess ups, and didn't get my dress in my hands until the end of February and my wedding is March 18th! I immediately was scrambling to get it altered. Beth got me in the next day, and worked so hard to get my dress done in 2 weeks for my destination wedding! I called Beth for alterations on my wedding dress only a few months before my wedding (which for those of you in the non-wedding process, is a little/a lot late in the game). A Fitting Image is a small, family run business so they don't have a lot of availability, but were very accommodating and had me come in just two days later. I spoke with Beth and her daughter, who also works in the shop, about anything and everything as we fitted my dress--they asked ME if they could have 3 weeks instead of two because they were a bit backed up, which of course I obliged. All in, she bustled my dress but added a button to let the train out if I wanted, shortened the straps and took the intricate lace bodice in about 3 inches, all for $80. This happened last year and this review is way over due. I went in on November 11 for Beth to alter a dress for a destination wedding with three other dress shirts for my husband. They were simple alterations. I was perturbed that she asked me to pre-pay since she hasn't previously, but I brushed it off since she did an awesome job for my wedding dress and other jobs. However, this time it took her a MONTH to finish my order. She wanted me to pick up the order on day before I left for the wedding but I pushed back to pick it up 2 days before. She then told me at 2pm on the day I was picking up my dresses that SHE HASN'T STARTED ON IT so please come by later towards the day! When I got home I discovered SHE DIDN'T FINISH SEWING THE DRESS (apparently the machine broke?), the alteration was to shorten a neck strap and it was just hanging with no way to wear it out in public. It's now December 12, the day before I leave, and I am scrambling to go see her so she can finish the dress. I'm just lucky I pushed to pick up early or else I would already be out of country. I do not recommend her, but if you still proceed with Beth I advise to NOT PREPAY because she won't put you as priority and will wait last minute, call to check up periodically, and tell her a you need the dress a few days before an event since she can get sloppy so you'll have time for repairs just in case. I've used her for a lot of things for a long time but now I will be finding a new tailor. read more

Horrible business. Use Miss Anne's at 41st and Peoria. The owner of this shop, Beth, ruined my wedding dress by hemming it when it had a note on the dress not to hem it...and then denied it. I reported her to the BBB and she then said she would pay for the dress since she finally admitted she altered the dress even though there were instructions not to hem it. She also had it for one month before she touched it and rushed the last night. She admitted she rushed it the night before my second fitting!! My fiancée went into the shop and asked for our money back for the dress and she had the nerve to say he acted threatening to her!! Very defensive and not honest at all. She said she would pay after I reported her to the BBB and then she ended up not paying. I hope she loses her BBB rating. Very disappointed to find not only sub-par craftsmanship but also someone that doesn't care about customer service and is dishonest. Never even got an apology from this woman. read more

Beth was very easy to work with leading up to my first fitting. She is very friendly and sweet. I went in January for my second fitting for my wedding in April. I had an appointment 4 days before my wedding to do my final fitting. Beth called me and told me she straight up "forgot" to hem my dress and that she got it mixed up with someone else's dress. I was very stressed. She said she would have it ready by 9 am the next day, but it still wasn't ready. By this point I was getting very nervous my wedding dress wasn't going to be done in time and started looking at other dress options just in case (definitely not something you want to be doing 3 days before your wedding). Although she did admit that she forgot to hem my dress, we still weren't given a discount or any money back, and she had my mom pay $300 up front before even hemming the dress. A little disappointing but in the end she did work tirelessly to get my dress done and it turned out amazing. I would recommend following up with Beth at least two weeks prior to your final fitting to ensure it's done. read more
