I came in for my first Co2 laser treatment. During my consultation I was given the skin nektar to prep my skin for two weeks before I came back for my procedure. The laser itself was tolerable. However, Dr. Alex's team did numb my skin prior to starting the laser. I was sent home with after care products to use at home. I've been a client of AE Skin for several years and have always loved Dr. Alex's products, services and his office staff. Went in for the 3rd IPL treatment on 7th this month. Still awesome as the first 2 visit. Doctor Alex recommended the Acne Max Solution to me since I have some acne on one side of my jaw area. So I have been using the Acne Solution for about a week now, and the brightening cream for 2 months, thinking that I might as well share my reviews on them. Brightening cream - Helps brightening and clears up the pore - It contains tretinoin, an ingredient that will make you peel but also clears up your skin. I tried other tretinoin cream before and I peel super bad and had bright red face, so I assumed that this cream will make my face peel like that too. HOWEVER, it didn't. There were still light peeling but it was really gentle and easy to handle; it's the "you can still put makeup on" kind of peeling. - Does NOT increase redness if used correctly. - Does it kill acne? Somehow. A little bit. I think it can kill the kind of acne that is caused by dirty pore. - Used it for 2 months and I think my skin's overall condition has been improved: brighter, clearer. Acne Max Solution - STRONG in KILLING acne - It has a few kind of acid that can heal acne and clear up the pore. - I have been using it for a week and the result is amazing: the acne is gone, some of the calm whiteheads has been slowly disappearing, which really surprised me cause I thought those bastards will never leave me alone. - My skin got smoother in a obvious way. - Reduce redness that is caused by acne in my case. - I think the best thing is that it can be used in the morning, so that I don't need to worry about the makeup causing me more skin problems during the day. I purchased a Groupon for Botox which already makes me nervous to start. I have been getting Botox off and on for 10 years and have never gotten a deal so to speak. I liked Dr. Alex. He is warm and personable. I liked his front desk staff. Friendly and beautiful skin. The facility is clean. What I'm not liking is the feeling that my Botox is not working. I have so much movement after ten days. This has never happened before. Dr. Alex offered me a complimentary touch up. While I have not gotten the cosmetic result I desired, I am VERY HAPPY with the Doctor himself and how incredibly responsive and polite he is. I would give him 5 stars for that. The office was responsive to every one of my emails. My Botox is looking good. I will review the IPL treatment once I get it done. I'm not happy with the results of my first IPL treatment. If you are considering it, it's important to know (which I did not know) that the treatment itself can cause MORE broken capillaries. I have a whole slew of new ones along my cheeks and around my nostrils. I really had no intention of purchasing a series, I did purchase one more treatment as I'm hoping to get rid of these capillaries. I hate the result. Yes I signed all the paperwork, but the Dr should consider mentioning this in person.
