We hired Boston Best Construction (BBC) to complete a kitchen island and small remodel project in…read moreour Boston condo. We consulted with several contractors and ultimately settled on BBC due to the competitive price, references, and availability. We worked with Eduardo and his team throughout the duration of the project. We are very happy with the outcome. The Quote & Final Price. Of those we contacted, BBC took the least amount of time to get us a quote. The quote was also the most detailed of the ones we received. Eduardo included renderings of the island remodel and surrounding space as well as a detailed breakdown of materials and labor. The quoted price was very competitive -- it was among the lowest. BBC completed the project for the quoted price in spite of a few unexpected complications we encountered along the way. Quality of work. We are extremely happy with the quality of the work performed. We were very up front about certain key requirements going into the project and Eduardo did a very good job making sure to adhere to them. For example, we wanted to make sure the island cabinetry matched our older, discontinued, cabinetry. Eduardo was able to match our own cabinets very closely without impacting the price. We also had a number of other very specific requirements regarding cabinetry arrangement and Eduardo stuck to it perfectly. We got what we asked for. Communication and experience. Eduardo and his crew kept the dialogue going throughout the project. We spoke regularly via telephone, email, and text message. They listened to our questions and concerns along the way and made adjustments based on our input. They were very good at explaining when certain things made sense and when they didn't. Eduardo and his team were not afraid to speak up when they thought their input would lead to a better result. For example, Eduardo and one of his team members (Daniel) had some suggestions about how to cut the granite to wrap around some steam pipes adjacent to the island. This resulted in a much better finished appearance and the additional cost was negligible. We are glad we listened to their suggestions as the final result is better than we had expected. We had a great experience with BBC and would use them again. We recommend them for anyone considering any type of project for their home.

We could not possibly recommend RK Construction enough. We just completed a large project that…read moreincluded an addition, kitchen and bath renovation, heat pump system install, floor installation and refinishing, painting, and exterior work including new siding and patio. We were continuously put at ease during what should have been a completely overwhelming process by the kindness and expertise from Ralph, Manny, Mike, Tracey, and all their vendors and subcontractors. On top of providing top-tier service and doing beautiful work, RK came in under time and on budget. During the planning phase, Ralph was easy to communicate with, very detailed and patient in his explanations of the process, and presented us with exactly the design we asked for. During the construction phase, Manny served as job supervisor and was onsite every day caring for our home as though it was his own. My husband and I both work hybrid schedules and the bulk of the work was done during our daughter's summer vacation, so at least one of us was always in the way of the work being done. Manny, Mike, and everyone respected our space, cleaned the site daily, and took extra care to accommodate our needs. Manny was a wonderful partner to us throughout the process - he knew when to execute exactly what we wanted and he knew when we were indecisive or overwhelmed and how to guide us. He served as conductor and coordinator of so many moving parts and made it seem smooth and seamless. Throughout the process, we met with vendors for cabinetry, appliances, tile, countertops, and plumbing fixtures as well as their subcontractors for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, painting, tiling, and hardscaping. The respect and admiration each of them had for Ralph and all of the RK crew was evident in talking to them and served as a huge reassurance for us. We solicited quotes from three contractors. RK Construction did not come in at the lowest price. They use high-quality products and their craftsmanship is intentional and meticulous in a way that earns the higher price tag. You will not regret spending a little more when the process and results are everything you'd expect and more.

Peter Duffy's team took over the work that our previous, nightmare-of-a-contractor had started…read more From the start, Peter and his amazing crew, Oliver and Alan, showed up at our house first thing in the morning, and didn't stop until 5pm or later. They accomplished more in one week than our first crew did in 2 months. Peter was truly invested in the project, and it was clear how much he cares for his clients and his crew. Every step in the process was a collaboration: Peter scheduled appointments between us and the electrician, HVAC crew, and plumbers so we could all walk through the house together and talk through what we wanted and what would work. Peter also made suggestions throughout the process that improved the plan and house in ways that never would have occurred to us. At one point, Peter's crew had the idea to move an original built-in cabinet to another wall in order to open up the dining room to the kitchen, and it changed the entire flow of the house in the best way possible. Visitors always scratch their heads in disbelief when we tell them that the built-in was moved - they insist it looks like it has always lived in that corner of the room! Peter uses the best materials for his builds, and the finishing work is outstanding. Oliver is an incredible carpenter, so our new stairs, kitchen casework, trim around the walls and doors, and tile work in each bathroom is absolutely gorgeous. The existing walls in the house were in bad shape after we removed the wallpaper, so Peter's meticulous painting team patched and repaired all of the walls before painting. The walls are now absolutely smooth and look brand new. The few times there were issues, Peter and his crew addressed them immediately - things were corrected by the following day. Our entire project was massive, and Peter coordinated the work of all of the subcontractors seamlessly so there was never a day that no one showed up to work. Peter's prices throughout the project were also reasonable, especially for the quality of work and materials that they included. Our finished home is more beautiful than we could have ever imagined - we are beyond happy and grateful to Peter and his crew. If you've got a project coming up - no matter how big or small - Let Duffy Do It! Check out the attached social media video we made to showcase Peter's work, along with some other pictures of the finished kitchen, bathroom, and basement.

Two months ago we finally pulled the trigger and added a 1/2 bath to our property. We loved working with Peter so much that we worked with him again! Small compact powder room, but it gets the job done. Overall pleased with outcome of every project. Peter was helpful in the process as he had many suggestions, ideas in bringing things together. Pricing was very reasonable compared to the 2-3 other quotes that's I've received from other contractors. I was proactive on my end on communicating exactly what the needs were for my family. Communicated timeline, expectations, and cost so that there were no surprise for the both of us. When I decided it was time to replace my 40+ year-old roof after consulting with Steve, he told me truthfully that he would do everything he can as a local owner and a friendly neighbor (literally one street over) to help me in any way he could to take care of my need for a new roof under my financial limits. He made sure to address any potential issues, he assessed the inside attic space and made sure he didn't see any serious concerns before making any knee jerk assumptions like some do from a visual standpoint. Whether it be from the delivery of the shingles (which he communicated with me immediately to take care of a shipment error on the warehouse side before the job started) so that the job didn't start with the wrong shingle we selected !! His price was fair compared to a couple other companies who he competes against, because he truly wanted the business so he can continue to grow to compete against the other big name companies that upsell from a commissions perspective. Everything happened as he had scheduled. His team arrived in the early morning and finished in 7 hours. Shane assisted with taking care of boarding up the existing Gable vents and cleaning up everything inside the house as well as assisting the rest of the team so that there was no trail of a mess left behind. In echoing another reviewer, after the job finished, "his entire team cleaned up so you wouldn't even know they were there." I am thankful I went with Steve and Stella Roofing Services, and will consider for any future home improvement projects.
