He communicated with us throughout the project of installing a new Timberteck deck. His crew worked straight on through from start to finish without empty lapses of time. The men are so highly skilled. We continue to be happy with our beautiful deck. Therefore, we asked Ruy to install a Timberteck stair rail at our front doors, which also has withstood the test of time. We'd been concerned that installments like this would compromise the brick, whereby requiring a total rebuild, but a rebuild wasn't necessary. He also advise us on an easy and effective fix to divert water from flowing from the gutter and freezing to ice on those brick steps in winter. Based on the outcome of these projects, and our experience in their progression, we highly recommend this company.

Brutal experience with them back in 2022-2024. Would take weeks and, more than once, even months…read moreto get them to come back and do any work (see screenshots of my text interactions with them -- note the dates). They were supposed to build a new rubber roof. It started leaking on 3 separate occasions (which btw was never fully fixed -- we moved on to different contractors who did address the issues). And like I said, it would take months for them to actually come back and attempt to fix anything. Often they'd come by, look at the damage, then I wouldn't hear from them for multiple weeks. Meanwhile, more damage continues to accrue to the walls and ceilings. The internal fixes they applied for the water damage were just patch jobs. They just plastered and painted over. Meanwhile, the insulation behind the wall was soaked and accrued black mold that we had to address later. Also worth pointing out a major blunder at the beginning of the project (see attached videos and pics). They opened up the roof, and left it open for multiple days without doing any work. Well of course a major rainstorm came by (which was on the weather forecast well in advance). Alll that water poured into the house in the middle of the night setting off fire alarms. It was a nightmare to deal with on my end.

I must say that I was impressed with the designer with whom they work, Anna Orfanides. I told her what style I was looking for, and Anna knocked it out of the park. It's simply stunning, and everyone who has seen my kitchen is impressed. While it was merely a galley kitchen in a Brookline condo, Anna envisioned a design that made it much more functional, timeless, and chic. Hilary Farr would be impressed. Ryaan and team are highly detail oriented. There was one incident where there was a problem with some of the lighting materials. While some contractors would have taken a shortcut and simply have installed the lighting as is, Ryaan and his electrician Chris, who was a perfectionist, made sure that the vendor was held accountable, and they refused to install the product until the issue was resolved with the manufacturer. It should also be noted that Ryaan and team are in constant communication from the project inception until the very end. Kristina, the project manager, is unbelievably responsive. You really can get in touch with her around the clock. The workmanship is impeccable, and it's the first project I've done with a nonexistent punch list. Ryaan took care of small details before I even mentioned them. Finally, I want to add that they are just nice people. I really do think animals are the best judges of character. My dog is a Lhasa Apso, and there are some people he just doesn't like. I was worried that there would be lots of barking and growling throughout the project. However, that was not the case. My dog took a liking to the project team from the beginning. There was no barking and growling. If he can trust them, so can I. It was a wonderful experience, and they really have earned five stars. Ryaan was the only person who responded to emails promptly, showed up when he said he would, and gave a detailed quote that included everything we'd talked about. He got back to messages quickly and if there was a delay in beginning the next phase of the project, he let us know why. Problem was I need a concrete footing and no one was willing to help. I finally decided to reach out to companies myself and see if anyone would be willing to donate their time and some concrete. I called one day talked to a person on the phone, that afternoon I was emailing with the owner and less than a week later they were out donating their time, digging the whole and pouring concrete (in the snow). I can't share the whole back story to the basketball hoop but if it wasn't for Abacus, I don't think our school would have ever got the basketball set up. I give this company an A+ and will recommended them to anyone who asks.

We had great difficulty with customer service re: Boston Iron Group. FYI, it wasn't mentioned…read moreduring our initial estimate, but it's standard for them to complete painting touch up on site when they deliver your railing. I questioned the workers doing this as it was about to rain, but they assured me that it would be fine. We had a downpour within one hour of them painting and sure enough, the paint job suffered. I had to contact Aylton, the owner, repeatedly for 6 weeks before the painting was finally touched up. There were many weather days when painting was not an option, but the company didn't try to fulfill their promise of correcting things in a timely manner or without my constant reminding. I recommend looking elsewhere for your railing needs.
