They did a hack job to my A/C unit. Bypassed wires, used aftermarket parts etc. Do not recommend.

Totally incompetent. This is a review of the scheduler, not the installation. I have no idea whether the installation was successful because the person working the schedule is SO INCOMPETENT. First, they installed an AC without a permit in-hand. That required them to drop off the permit. I took at day off from work because I was told I needed to physically receive it on a certain day. And then... no one showed. I was then told that someone would drop it off between 12-2 on another day, so I again took a day off of a work. The tech showed up at 5:30pm. Now, onto the inspection debacle. I took off ANOTHER DAY of work to be here for an inspection. Of course, no one showed because the AC Doctor person did not actually make an appointment. Then she makes an appointment for another day AND DOES CONFIRM WITH ME. So we have to reschedule for $50. The installation was very good and the system seems to be in order, so this is really a review of how much time, aggravation, and money this company has wasted. I will update this review only if they pay the $50 and actually tell me when the inspection is scheduled. read more

Our system needed simplest fix; Replace Float Switch. BUT, A/C Doctor has Now SCAMMED my Wife. This Annoys me. Due to Their FAULTY MULTI-METER instead of a SIMPLE Float Switch replacement - THE FIRST THING ANYBODY CHECKS WHEN THE THE SYSTEM DOES NOT RESPOND TO THE THERMOSTAT (my wife did basic check for water in condensation pan) the problem was diagnosed as thermostat wiring. So $340 later, wire from thermostat to air handler was replaced? (I was out of state & wife doesn't know what exactly was done). A/C unit STILL DID NOT TURN ON. Tech was getting strange/unusual/non-understandable readings from multi-meter. So Service Mgr Glen came onsite to help. My son happened to pass by as they were discussing a FAULTY MULTI-METER. (LIE to me All You Want GLEN! I know the TRUTH.) The Float Switch had failed - suck in OPEN - so No Low Voltage Power. Good old, good old Glen (Bless His Heart!) says replacing said switch will cost another $130. Some B.S. about a standard Safe-T-Switch ($20.32 on Amazon) being Old & Rare and $$expensive$$. (I ordered switch today, will have tomorrow) While Tech bypassed faulty switch Glen put on 'Full Court Press' for my wife to replace HVAC System(s) -- EVEN AFTER SHE TOLD HIM MULTIPLE TIMES... NOT WITHOUT MY Husband's Say. AND Glen would Not Admit to the misdiagnosis. Still wants the $340, "Because, wire was replaced as agreed". I've bought Run Capacitors and Variable Speed Blower Fan Motors from Total Comfort. BECAUSE I CAN FIX THIS STUFF MYSELF, but was out of state, and GLEN DECIDED TO (TRY) & TAKE ADVANTAGE OF A WOMAN. Total Comfort will now be our A/C service company. We will miss Isaiah & Joel. THE BEST NEWS IS THAT WE HAVE TWO HVAC SYSTEMS, that we were convinced by A/C Doctor, THAT NEED REPLACEMENT. This was planned for next year -- we even got quotes from A/C Doctor. GUESS WHO AIN'T GETTIN' THAT $18k+ OF BUSINESS... over a $20.32 float switch. AC Doctor Complete has been maintaining our air conditioner for 6 yrs. Wednesday they came for the 6 month checkup. When the technician arrived, our unit was working fine; yet 30 minutes later he tells us that it is not working and needs to be replaced! It's under warranty and the installation cost will be $970. They can have someone out that afternoon to replace it. So we thanked him & then called someone else for a second opinion. Conclusion was that our compressor was fine & didn't need replacement! We won't make any accusations, yet if you have a similar situation, get a second opinion! read more

Avoid A/C Doctor Complete unless you want to be overcharged. $401.39 for a simple thermostat swap. Wouldn't even waive the service call fee even though they charge $322.39 for a $50 thermostat. I will not do business with them and you shouldn't either. read more

I bought a coupon and they honored it. He gave me good explanations and did a great job with the work I needed done. We were so happy that they answered the phone and made an appointment for the DAY we called. We didn't have the maintenance agreement until after the service call. Since then, A/C Doctor has been out twice fixing/cleaning up old issues and our unit is working amazingly well. VERY happy with the Maintenance Agreement - we've never done that before and are so glad we did. Highly Recommend read more

A/C Doctor Complete - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me - Daytona Beach, Florida

This is my review which is my opinion based on my recent experience. I called them when my system was not working properly so that I could get a diagnosis for my AC. It struggled to keep the house cool. They were friendly upon arrival and got the system cooling the home within minutes by replacing a part. It was such a quick job, I felt so relieved. The problem though was beyond that and further diagnosis should have been provided. I had a clogged drain that was resolved 3 days after they supposedly fully repaired my AC, but it was corrected only after I called a plumber based on a conversation I had with a contractor. I had water in my garage everyday for approx 1-2 weeks. Asked if water was near the AC, I said yes but I assured the contractor that I just had AC Doctors out. We thought a problem with plumbing might exist. The plumber came and right away found the problem with the AC. He suggested I call the company. The office manager started out by assuring me that they would absolutely do right and see to it that I would get some of the service call/ diagnosis money back. It was only $54 but I was happy that they were taking some responsibility for realizing that they didn't ensure the system was completely working properly. Imagine my surprise when I got a call back from them only five minutes later. There was a very different attitude which alarmed me. They stated that they felt their repair tech didn't see other issues but cooled the house on a non cool service call and that justified they did their job. My thoughts...they cooled the house, but they didn't check to make sure no other issues were present to fully ensure they left a properly functioning unit?? Apparently, I didn't pay for that. It is something to realize when it comes to knowing who to trust for future service. I realize that the clog may not have been clearly seen but why send someone out to look at a system and diagnose it's issues and then when you are found to have not accurately found all those issues ...blame a plumber (who fixed it) and then blame me for the fact that I didn't buy a maintenance agreement. I was told rather rudely that I got a coupon discount the day of service and that was satisfactory. This call left me feeling awful and with the desire to let others know that this company may seem nice at first and may indeed work to get a system up and running quickly ...but be careful. read more

This team at AC Doctor Complete couldn't have been more helpful from the start of the new AC installed in my home and all the way to the end. Every detail was explained to me with what they were going to do with the air conditioner. They gave me choices of AC units to choose from within my budget. Installed a new thermostat as well and showed me how to use it. The team also wears these booties on their feet before they walked in my house to make sure that the rug stayed clean! The owner of the company also showed up a few times to make sure that everything was going as planned and to make sure that I was happy. Thank you Glenn and your whole team! The Service guy showed up prompt and on time to repair the ac. I was pleased with everything until I got the bill. I was prepared for the after hours/weekend rate for the service which was $129 instead of $79. What I wasn't prepared for is how much they increase the cost of parts for these same hours. A capacitor was $117 which should only cost $30-40 at the most. I feel totally ripped off by this! read more
