Food: The Affair Club sandwich: get it. Just do it. When you take a bite, you will hear angels sing. Service: friendly and fast enough Ambiance: it's in the Granville Market area, so it's easy to access.

The organic bakery is a dream! I wish we had more time and luggage space so I could buy one of everything. I did buy the cheese sables/cheese shortbread and it is exactly what I've been searching for the past decade. (Why is it so hard to find a good cheese sable??) I should have bought 3. The sandwich menu looked awesome and we will need to come back for lunch on our next trip to Granville Island!

Ham and Edam sandwich

I've been wanting to try this place since we pass it so often while walking around Granville Island. I got myself a ham and edam sandwich while mom got the brioche pizza and an all butter croissant. First off, the bread on my sandwich was incredibly fresh and tasted amazing. Super soft center while the crust was hard but I kind of like that! The actual sandwich was filling and tasty, and I think there was a normal amount of ham and cheese and lettuce but there was only one tomato which was a bit disappointing. The sandwich could have definitely used 2 slices so the tomato would actually fill the entire thing. But besides that I really enjoyed it! We got there around 10:30am and I just loved how fresh it tasted. Great way to start the day! I had a bite of mom's brioche pizza and it was good but nothing super special. It tasted like a cold piece of thin crust pizza. The croissant was huge and since mom had gotten a croissant from Terra Breads it was fun to compare the two. The croissant at A Bread Affair was definitely larger but when you open it up, it has less layers inside. The outer shell was crisper as well. The croissant from Terra Breads was smaller but it had many more layers when you ripped it in half. And the outside was also a bit softer. Also keep in mind we ate these in the evening, about 7 hours after buying them. I think what you'd prefer all comes down to personal preference. Mom and I felt like we enjoyed the croissant from Terra Breads just a little more, mostly because it had more layers to bite into. But the croissant here was still tasty! Overall I'm really glad we finally ate here. A fresh and filling option for food if you're walking around Granville Island. And I'd be curious to try a few other options here next time I'm in the area!

This was a cool pastry shop right in the heart of Granville Island Public Market. We went here last week as part of our family vacation. It was nice to run across this place as my older daughter and her husband were looking for a snack for my two granddaughters, and my younger daughter and I were looking for something to share as well. It was a very beautiful day outside. We just had a simple order. The man inside who served us was very nice at the front counter. We got a $2.00 bottle of water and a Pain au chocolat (chocolate croissant) warmed up. The pastry was so fresh and super tasty!!! While we were enjoying our snacks outside, a guy was in the courtyard singing. It was just a really good way to start out at Granville Island!!! We definitely would come back and highly recommend this bread shop!!!

This place has a great location. It's near the water and there is outdoor seating in the area. There was live music playing right near the bakery. I didn't have any expectations for my sandwich. I bought it out of convenience. The staff was friendly. They announce your order from the window once it's ready. I had An Affair Club and some sort of homemade soda. The soda was refreshing and not super sweet. The sandwich... I still think about this sandwich. Every time I see a picture of it, I want another one. The focaccia was UNREAL. It was perfect-- fluffy, warm, and full of flavor. The meat and veggies on it tasted so fresh. It was a quality sandwich with quality ingredients. If I'm ever in town again, you can count on me getting another of them.

Absolutely amazing croissants! So buttery and moist with the perfect amount of flakiness. The service was very friendly and helpful! All the different flavors provide a great selection and the ones we tried were so delicious. They have the bakery section and then a counter that sells sandwiches and drinks. No indoor seating but there are benches right outside that people enjoy their pastries on.

Pain au chocolat

This bakery on Granville Island has an assortment of bread, pastries, and cookies with raunchy names that are puns of love/affairs. The cookies are all called "thicc." I got the pain au chocolat. The dough was fragrant and flavourful. However, there was very little chocolate inside, which I think is important. Still very good though.

A must visit boutique bakery while you are in Granville Island. They offer a wide variety of artisan bread, cookies, pastries and Sandwiches and their staff is so welcoming. I went with Thick Peanut Butter Awesomeness Butter cookie and Mandarin Orange Choco Scone. Peanut Butter cookie was a wholesome cookie with just the right amount of sugar (not too sweet)that you will enjoy every bite of it. Orange Mandarin scone is the best scone i have tasted in a while. Usually they are quite sweet but this freshly baked and delicious scone just melt in your mouth. Both the cookie and scone so good that i went back again to bakery for the same order. I found the bakery little pricier but considering the freshness and taste of their food, it is worth it.

Molasses cookie

I stopped in for a croissant while on Granville island and was wowed by the options. I ended up leaving with a pistachio chocolate croissant and came back a few hours later for a molasses cookie. It was so thick (like a puck!) and yet retained its chewiness, which is exactly what I wanted. Sad to not live nearby because I crave their baked goods on weekends!

Whenever I come to Granville Island, the Bread Affair is a must stop for their delish croissants. Believe me, you thought you walked into a Parisian bakery as a buttery smell waffles in the air. The freshly baked pastries will have you drooling in a nano second. My cousin was with me and she tried their ham & cheese croissant & loved it. They also sell breads, drinks, and other pastries. Ambiance: 5/5 - beautiful décor Service: 5/5 - friendly staff Food: 5/5 - organic and freshly crafted Parking: 3/5 - a challenge at times Value: 5/5 - worth it for organic TIP: Try any of their croissants

I will never give my business to these scums again. They refuse to let people in without a mask even though mandates have been lifted.

Yes, of course…read moreyou have your wall(s) of hot sauce, and offerings of the Hot Ones challenge, but more importantly, they have put their hot sauces to test, pairing them with their huge line up of dishes. I came in to check for a sauce my friend asked for but stayed for a bite! Did I mention that this place is cheap AF!? I don't know how they do it but it's incredibly affordable and the quality of food is impressive! I got their Veggies on Fire (Cheddar, lettuce, sprouts, tomato, cucumber, green pepper, pickles, red onion, banana peppers, Dijon, spicy mayo - Hot Sauce: Dawson's Shawarma). This was $8. Plus I added waffle fries, which I don't even care for. But these were heavily seasoned and cooked to perfection. The sandwiches come with chips but you can't miss the fries. You can choose which breads you want and I choose sourdough. Highly recommend that you toast that bread. The sandwich was huge and staked with so many veggies. The hot sauce was very mild but paired so well. The service was phenomenal! Above and beyond and so friendly. The place gets quite busy, understandable, and they are still so patient and friendly. I can't wait to try their extensive menu and order their veggie friendly menu options! And, obvy, their 1000 hot sauces!

I love wings....and these guys know how to make 'em. The range and taste of the many hot sauces is not just crazy good but actually quite impressive. Their sandwiches are also mouthwatering good... Actually I just stuffed myself with their wings and sandwiches an hour ago, and just writing this review makes me want more....yup....:/ It was our first time there and what really stood out was how helpful and friendly their staff are. Truly, genuinely and whole heartedly they take care of you. If you love hot wings, a nice cold beer and tasty bar food this place has taken it to another level...not by fancy booths, shiny exterior or flashy pretends....but simply quality food, drinks and service. Looking forward to going back.

I was soooo hungry and could smell something delicious coming from this little shop at Granville St…read moreand 11th. It was around 1pm on a Friday, it was very quiet. Found a table right away. There are some small tables for two along with high tables. I ordered the 'hot' sandwich, chicken parm. I was expecting crispy chicken parm with yummy cheese and rich tomatoe sauce. Let's be honest, the star of this show is the bread! The baguette was warm, soft and so delicious. However, that's where the excitement stopped for me. The chicken with breading was soggy and the pesto and mozzarella was such a small amount, it felt like a soggy chicken sandwich with lots of bread. If they put more pesto dressing, more mozzarella cheese and more tomatoe sauce, I could have looked past the soggy chicken. All in all, I'm glad it tried it, the bread is amazing, and I'll come back to try a 'cold' sandwich to see if the other options are better!

Nothing special nor any extra extraordinary ingredients. The staff were nice. I don't think it's the staff's fault. It's just how they're told to make the sandwich. Hopefully this will reach more people.
