First timers!…read more Fortunately, we came on a Wednesday. My husband loves wings so he ordered 15 wings because it was Wing Wednesday. The wings were jumbo and he said they were the best wings he has had in a long time. He was very happy with his meal. I got the Jersey Peach Burger and it was good. We shared my fries and we both really liked their fries. I tried a Not a Colada and it was tasty. The only negative thing I can say is that there was a lot of ice in my drink, therefore not a lot of drink. Good service. We will be back for more wings for the hubby and I will try something else on the menu. We were told that the restaurant has a new owner and is changing names in a couple of weeks, but a lot of things on the menu will stay so hopefully there won't be any changes to the wings!!

I came in on my own for dinner a couple of weeks later. I ordered the same 6-piece wing appetizer in lemon pepper dry and an entrée. Not long after I arrived, a large group of over 20 people came in and occupied a lot of my server's time. There appeared to be at least 3 servers working, but my server was assigned the large group on her own. That left my drink cup empty for extended periods as she got their drinks and then food orders. The wings arrived as lemon pepper wet with fries. Basically, it was a whole meal on its own. When I asked why they were wet instead of dry, I was told they had changed ownership within the past week and no longer had lemon pepper dry. If she had informed me of that when I ordered them, I wouldn't have gotten wings. Food arrived with onions on it but no mushrooms after I had ordered it with no onions. She took it back to be remade and was not apologetic for the mistake at all. When I finally paid and left, I had been there for 2 hours. Way too long to just have an appetizer and an entrée.

The food was good, and the Chicken Parmesan wings were definitely worth trying. I also had one of their house lemonades, and that was a highlight of the meal. The only thing I'd change next time is the Philly. It came with a lot of vegetables--more than I personally prefer. It almost felt like I was eating a veggie Philly instead of a chicken Philly. That's just my preference though. Next time, I'll probably ask for fewer vegetables. They don't make their own ranch; it comes in the packaged cups. It's not my favorite brand, but at least they had ranch available. The restaurant has plenty of seating if you want to dine in, TVs playing in the background, and a nice atmosphere. They had a good mix of old-school '90s R&B along with some current R&B, which made the experience even better. The customer service was good from the time i walked in until I left. I'd say order your food before you get there to eliminate the time just sitting there. Overall, I'd definitely come back and try some of the other items on the menu. If you're in the area and looking for some good wings and a relaxed place to enjoy your meal, I'd recommend giving this spot a try.

I came in on a weekday evening and we were the only people in the establishment. It still took about 30 minutes for our order to come out. Granted, there were a few online delivery orders in between. This place has a wiiiiide selection of flavors! And you can mix flavors too. The worker taking my order was very patient with me as I took a while to choose, and she gave some recommendations catered to my preferences. The sauce on my wings was good but the wings themselves were subpar-- tiny, no meat, dry. I ordered 5 pieces but it came with 7, probably because they're tiny. I did really enjoy my collard greens tho.

My favorites are the diner Benedict, beef stroganoff, and corned beef hash and eggs. The only standout misses were the chicken pot pie and the pancakes and just worse than the waffles. Atmosphere is ok! The interior is GORGEOUS ruined by AI generated photos and event banners on the TV's and walls. They do special nights where you can listen to live music by talented artists as well. Service has always been awesome. I have seen the same servers here for a very long time so they have it down. I hadn't been on Harbins Road in…read morequite some time, so it took me a little by surprise to see the once abandoned building that used to be a 1950's gas station open as a minimart. What surprised me even more was the trailer parked on the side selling BBQ! But the biggest surprise was experienced by my wife who knows how crazy picky I am about BBQ. "Seriously, you're going to turn the car around to try BBQ at a place you haven't yelped?" she asked. YUP!!!! The time was almost 7pm, which would have made this dark if we hadn't just went through a 'Spring Forward' weekend. The owner immediately apologized and informed me he was out of ribs, but allowed me to sample his pulled pork and chopped chicken. After looking over his menu board my eyes were drawn in by the words RIB TIPS. "I can't believe you have rib tips on your menu!" I exclaimed. "We sure do, where are you from?" he asked. "Chicago, where rib tips are a staple item on all true BBQ restaurant menus." Ironically one of his regular customers (who also happened to be from Chicago) walked up during this exchange and joined in with a little spirited banter of her own. We compared notes of our favorite Chicago BBQ restaurants and found we were in complete agreement. So why did I say I knew I was going to like this place even before I tasted the food? Well, before handing me a generous portion of sample meats, he insisted I try them WITHOUT the sauce. How did he know I prefer to taste BBQ that way? That is practically my BBQ pledge of honor: ----- I pledge allegiance, to the taste, of pork spare ribs everywhere! And to the smoky goodness, for which they stand, unsauced, with tenderness, and well-seasoned flavor for all! ----- Satisfied with the flavor, it was only then he revealed to me there were just a few tips remaining from earlier in the day. He removed them from hiding in a thermal container wrapped snuggly in Reynold's aluminum foil. I took them home along with homemade mac n' cheese and baked beans as my sides. I reheated them in the microwave for 2 minutes on 40% power. The rib tips and sides were so much better than I expected. So good in fact that I returned the following day for more of the same. I was also pleased this time he did have ribs available. One bite and his ribs had me feeling like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hevpHGPxRfU FINAL THOUGHTS I took a chance on a small business and scored a delightfully tasty surprise! The chopped chicken and pulled pork here are good, but the ribs and rib tips are my recommendation! The mac n' cheese is old school, kinda like my mom makes but with less seasoning. The baked beans have a cinnamon flavor that I've never experienced before, but really enjoyed. The owner assured me his meats are always ready by noon (Thursday through Sunday) and he remains until he sells out. If you are in the area and crave good BBQ, it would be worth your while to stop. I typically don't write reviews on roadside businesses because they tend to be fly by night establishments. Here one day and gone the next. But here's to hoping that the power of yelp will bring him enough business to stay put! 2016/62

Amazing Customer Experience to match their Amazing Food!…read more If you are in need of a food truck for your event, look no further! We were having a huge outdoor party for my husband's 50th birthday and we had invited over 100 people and we really wanted a food truck where not only the adults would love the food but also not too eccentric where it could please the kids too. I spent a lot of time throughout a week scouring the internet for a food truck that I felt could fit our needs. I found the menus for private parties too restricting and it was starting to feel I wouldn't be able to find the kind of menu I wanted. A friend of mine whose neighborhood has a lot of block parties and hires food trucks often suggested Soul Truckin Good. She said that out of all the trucks, that was the most raved about and pleased the masses. I had called a few already and felt discouraged with the limited menu for private parties. I might have liked this and that but maybe they couldn't do this and that together. I felt a little like Goldilocks and the Three Bears trying to find a menu I felt excited about. With the party being combined with our annual St. Patty's Day party I knew the drinks would be flowing and I wanted to make sure the food was yummy, hearty and filling for a one time guest visit to the truck. So I called Soul Truckin Good, and Jei answered the phone. She has the perfect amount of professionalism, kindness AND understanding when talking things over. The way she described the menu was very easy to understand and I felt like we had great main dish and side dish choices to work with. There was one additional side I wanted even though it ventured outside of the A, B, C type of menu. She wanted to make sure we were happy and she was happy to work with me to make sure we had the menu we wanted. By the end of the process, I felt like I was talking to my friend rather than a stranger. The party was growing by the day. And she talked me through everything regarding the number of people and how much to order, like a pro. Sometimes I felt like she was my therapist, lol, because of the concern I had with making sure everyone would get fed. When you have an Evite for a big party and even if you set a deadline for RSVPs, you will always have those friends that say, oh I forgot...is it too late? Or I know I initially said it was just 2 of us but now it will be all 5, yada yada yada. So we came up with a plan that I felt comfortable with. And not to forget about the food or the guest happiness- the day of the party gets here and the food truck was a huge success. Everyone loved the food. Everything went smoothly, truck was here on-time (even early). They make sure to plan with time cushions to get to their commitments with plenty of time. And there was a line at the end as our time was coming to a close and they stayed until the last person received their order. Can't assume that will always be the case but I was their last commitment that day. Just goes to show they care about the experience and not just the dollar. I don't think there are a lot of business owners out there that care as much about making your experience the best it can be. But I can say without a doubt that Soul Truckin Good is one of them!
