The email I sent originally was a reply to a shipping notification, which is an unmonitored email address, so that is on me, but I was still unable to leave a voicemail or chat. The business has issued a full refund, so I appreciate the quick actions once they were made aware of the issues. updating to 4 stars from 1, because the product I got was cool, but the customer service issues should be addressed. Ordered a UT Austin cake topper, design was easy to do. Got the shipment in time, but got the wrong order. I got some rugrats order for someone in another state. Calls went to a full voicemail, emails went unanswered, and the chat function never worked. Ended up getting a local bakery to do it for us. Also, it would cost more to send it back than the refund, so just lost money on this deal. Buyer beware. read more

I ordered a bunch of NHL items. But 1 New Jersery Devils Team slapshot Decoset & 48 NHL Montreal Canadiens team puck cupackes Rings. They sent different teams. After numerous calls, text messages & chats I finally got a response apologizing that she would look into it & send out the right merchandise & asked when I needed it. The night before the party I called, text messaged and sent numerous chats to find out where the product was. Next day (the day of the party, which was 3 weeks after I ordered the items) I received a text saying she never sent it. I asked via text that I wanted a full refund & I would send back what she shipped at their expense. But she said via text that I would have to pay for the shipping. Which will cost the same as the items paid. She finally offered a refund on the merchandise that was shipped incorrectly. But I do not need any of the shipped items as we had to redo our theme as we did not have all the items. Dealing with this company was 3 weeks of aggravation. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. There is no customer service & I think the person who finally answers gets a kick out of disappointing the customer. read more

What service and professionalism! Contacted A Birthday Place for an edible image that was time sensitive with customization. Thought I put in the order- I didn't press sent. Ooops. Contacted them a few days later to check on the order and was told I needed to complete the order. I can do that. I said, and I did. I follwed the directions for customizing the piece and was concerned about the deliver for the finished product. I paid what I feel is a fair price and a value for the item since it was customized and there is absolutlely no where near where I live that makes the item. I was informed they would make it that day and ship it out to me in time for the cake, even though they were having an impending snow storm. I received the item today- (2 days early)! I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place before! We've used them several times now for custom cake toppers and we really love them! Placing orders is super simple. You can order online or by telephone, and they recently opened up a store in Pelham. I usually send them an image I want for the cake topper, and they create perfect edible art! Still haven't received my order even though the estimated delivery was August 8th. According to the tracking number, they didn't drop it off at the post office till the Aug 9th! I will never order from here again and I would definitely not recommend anyone else to either. It's currently Aug 14th and the tracking number says "Package Acceptance Pending" what ever that means. read more

Found this business online just a week and a half before my boss's birthday! I was scrambling to get a topper since the cake printing machines at the local grocery stores were broken. I'm beyond happy that I ordered from A Birthday Place. All I had to do was pick a design, add photo, and message. Since I live in CA, I was concerned about shipping and getting the item on time. I paid $25 for express shipping I believe. Placed the order on a Wednesday evening, received two days later, Friday morning. The entire process was fast and the topper was perfection. I did not need to refrigerate it. A couple days later I brought it to my local grocery store to place an order so they can make the cake, and place the topper on top. The store cake designer was concerned about possible cracking since theirs are usually made of rice paper. Not from A Birthday Place! Picked up the cake Friday and it turned out wonderful. Oh my gosh this place is awesome! After procrastinating on making cupcakes for my sons birthday, I realized I needed to make some super cool Minecraft themed cupcakes. Keep in mind this is the day before his party. I googled Minecraft cupcake toppers and was shocked to see that there was a place that sells edible pictures for cakes! AND they had Minecraft! I placed an order online and sent a message asking if there was any way that I could pick my order up later on in the day or first thing the next morning and they responded quickly and SO friendly to let me know that I could pick it up in a few hours. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place because I ordered a cake topper on July 14, chose the shipping that would get it here in plenty of time, and it is still not here, yet the birthday has come and gone. I did call A Birthday Place letting them know I did not receive it and although they were very polite, they basically said once it leaves the store they are not responsible for whether or not I get it. It left Alabama after ordering on July 14 and then the tracking says it was in Jacksonville Florida, which by the way is where I live and it was supposed to be delivered, from July 18 to July 22. But instead of delivering it to my house, it then was tracking up to Memphis Tennessee for the next few days and now it is on to another destination but not Jacksonville Florida. Now, one might ask if that is really A Birthday Places' fault or not, but when I went online to order this particular cake topper, of the several places there were to choose from, I chose A Birthday Place to purchase it. Since I chose them, and I never received my cake topper, who else is there to blame? I paid for the cake topper and paid for the shipping and I never received it. read more

Amazing service! definitely recommend. My son wanted a Minecraft theme birthday BUT none of the stores we visited sold a cake with a Minecraft theme. I jumped online and found several online stores that sold edible toppers...however the reviews were pretty poor for a number of them. I found abirthdayplace.com and was pleasantly surprised with the reviews. I placed the order Monday at 5pm est (I needed by Friday for a bday on Sunday)... based on the shipping policy/recommendations I selected UPS 2 day. Within 30 minutes of my order I received a UPS shipping number. (Of course it hadn't been picked up so there weren't details to the shipping number but the fact they moved that fast and already created my shipping label omg, my kind of service !!!) I was so glad I selected them and was hoping the service continued to be this good. Well, they didn't disappoint by 5pm or so on Tuesday shipping info was added and I was set to get my order Thursday. The cake topper arrived with very detailed instructions. Sooo glad I read them too I thought since it was an edible item it might need to be refrigerated..no! Kept it in a cool place, out of direct light. Added to the cake (which was whipped icing) 10 min before serving to guest. I received a number of compliments about the cake. My son loved it! Will definitely be using again and again. read more
