I placed my order online, paid for it, and after checking a few weeks later on the status the online website was gone! Some error message! I went to my email confirmation clicked on status of my order same thing it's like it just vanished. I googled found the store website phone number and called it rang but got the voicemail I could leave a message or text. I like text because that's a receipt to me. I sent a text waited no response. I gathered all my paperwork, screenshots, proof of payment and filed a dispute! What this company or so called company won't do is dismiss me and I'm on a fixed income!!! Not!!! read more

Do not order from this company! I guess I should have read the reviews ahead of time since it seems they do this often. They misplaced my order, and when I spoke to customer service I requested expedited shipping so it would arrive in time for my daughter's birthday party, they failed to make it happen. The order arrived four days after the party, making it completely useless for the occasion. To make matters worse, they are now refusing to issue a refund despite the inconvenience and poor service. Extremely disappointing experience from start to finis read more

Why is this business still on the web? It takes an order, sends a confirmation; doesn't deliver or respond to phone calls, texts or emails. It is a terrible thing to sell something for a special occasion and never deliver or respond. read more

Edit: The below review was up maybe 10 minutes before I got a response from the business. The email I sent originally was a reply to a shipping notification, which is an unmonitored email address, so that is on me, but I was still unable to leave a voicemail or chat. The business has issued a full refund, so I appreciate the quick actions once they were made aware of the issues. updating to 4 stars from 1, because the product I got was cool, but the customer service issues should be addressed. Ordered a UT Austin cake topper, design was easy to do. Got the shipment in time, but got the wrong order. I got some rugrats order for someone in another state. Calls went to a full voicemail, emails went unanswered, and the chat function never worked. Ended up getting a local bakery to do it for us. Also, it would cost more to send it back than the refund, so just lost money on this deal. Buyer beware. read more

I ordered a bunch of NHL items. But 1 New Jersery Devils Team slapshot Decoset & 48 NHL Montreal Canadiens team puck cupackes Rings. They sent different teams. After numerous calls, text messages & chats I finally got a response apologizing that she would look into it & send out the right merchandise & asked when I needed it. The night before the party I called, text messaged and sent numerous chats to find out where the product was. Next day (the day of the party, which was 3 weeks after I ordered the items) I received a text saying she never sent it. I asked via text that I wanted a full refund & I would send back what she shipped at their expense. But she said via text that I would have to pay for the shipping. Which will cost the same as the items paid. She finally offered a refund on the merchandise that was shipped incorrectly. But I do not need any of the shipped items as we had to redo our theme as we did not have all the items. Dealing with this company was 3 weeks of aggravation. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. There is no customer service & I think the person who finally answers gets a kick out of disappointing the customer. read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place before! We've used them several times now for custom cake toppers and we really love them! Placing orders is super simple. You can order online or by telephone, and they recently opened up a store in Pelham. I usually send them an image I want for the cake topper, and they create perfect edible art! If you visit their store, they sell products from several different local artisans. Customer service is always stellar and I can't say enough good things about them. Check them out!! read more

I ordered cupcake toppers which i recieved, perfect. However I ordered the side of a round cake and recieved one that is made for a quarter sheet. Instead of them correcting I guess I'll have to make the sheet cake istead of round as planned read more

What service and professionalism! Contacted A Birthday Place for an edible image that was time sensitive with customization. Thought I put in the order- I didn't press sent. Ooops. Contacted them a few days later to check on the order and was told I needed to complete the order. I can do that. I said, and I did. I follwed the directions for customizing the piece and was concerned about the deliver for the finished product. I paid what I feel is a fair price and a value for the item since it was customized and there is absolutlely no where near where I live that makes the item. I was informed they would make it that day and ship it out to me in time for the cake, even though they were having an impending snow storm. I received the item today- (2 days early)! The piece was perfect! ABSOLUTELY beyond what I could have imagined. I am truly grateful for A Birthday Place. read more

Placed a order Dec 7th and as of this date (Dec.28th) have only had a text that a label has been created for U.S.P.S. Terrible customer service. Have called 3 times and got voicemail and they did not return calls.. read more

I have been trying to get a response from the company for over a month. The phone number provided gives the message that they will return my call, however, they have ignored my request on several attempts to speak with someone. The products seem good, but their customer service is terrrible. read more

Found this business online just a week and a half before my boss's birthday! I was scrambling to get a topper since the cake printing machines at the local grocery stores were broken. I'm beyond happy that I ordered from A Birthday Place. All I had to do was pick a design, add photo, and message. Since I live in CA, I was concerned about shipping and getting the item on time. I paid $25 for express shipping I believe. Placed the order on a Wednesday evening, received two days later, Friday morning. The entire process was fast and the topper was perfection. I did not need to refrigerate it. A couple days later I brought it to my local grocery store to place an order so they can make the cake, and place the topper on top. The store cake designer was concerned about possible cracking since theirs are usually made of rice paper. Not from A Birthday Place! Picked up the cake Friday and it turned out wonderful. No problems at all. Certainly saving them for the future :) read more

Still haven't received my order even though the estimated delivery was August 8th. According to the tracking number, they didn't drop it off at the post office till the Aug 9th! I will never order from here again and I would definitely not recommend anyone else to either. It's currently Aug 14th and the tracking number says "Package Acceptance Pending" what ever that means. read more

Had a great experience this with business. I found them online while looking for a Ninjago cake topper, and wanted to buy from them versus a large chain since they are family and women owned. When I received my order, the image didn't look like what was on the site. I contacted them, the designer replied right away with some options, and they expedited a replacement order that arrived quickly. I appreciate both their friendly service as well as their standing behind what they sell. Thank you! read more

Oh my gosh this place is awesome! After procrastinating on making cupcakes for my sons birthday, I realized I needed to make some super cool Minecraft themed cupcakes. Keep in mind this is the day before his party. I googled Minecraft cupcake toppers and was shocked to see that there was a place that sells edible pictures for cakes! AND they had Minecraft! I placed an order online and sent a message asking if there was any way that I could pick my order up later on in the day or first thing the next morning and they responded quickly and SO friendly to let me know that I could pick it up in a few hours. I could've cried. Such a great place! read more

A Birthday Place - First time making cupcakes with edible paper. I know it looks goofy haha - Party Supplies Near Me - Pelham, Alabama

Ordered a minecraft edible image for my son's birthday. Such great service. Answered all my questions through email, was able to customize my cake with no problem and they sent it out the next day. Clear instructions sent along with the image. Love the easy application. If my frosting under it was nice and smooth, the image would be too. Otherwise the image was crisp when i got it. Will order from them again. read more

I really wanted to have this work out. It seems like a good value, but your wasting your money if you need it quickly. I paid for expedited service (over $30 for that) and it took them two days to ship something that was in stock. If you need something in a week- be warned. read more

Great service and I felt I got a good value! I would definitely recommend this place.

Amazing service! definitely recommend. My son wanted a Minecraft theme birthday BUT none of the stores we visited sold a cake with a Minecraft theme. I jumped online and found several online stores that sold edible toppers...however the reviews were pretty poor for a number of them. I found abirthdayplace.com and was pleasantly surprised with the reviews. I placed the order Monday at 5pm est (I needed by Friday for a bday on Sunday)... based on the shipping policy/recommendations I selected UPS 2 day. Within 30 minutes of my order I received a UPS shipping number. (Of course it hadn't been picked up so there weren't details to the shipping number but the fact they moved that fast and already created my shipping label omg, my kind of service !!!) I was so glad I selected them and was hoping the service continued to be this good. Well, they didn't disappoint by 5pm or so on Tuesday shipping info was added and I was set to get my order Thursday. The cake topper arrived with very detailed instructions. Sooo glad I read them too I thought since it was an edible item it might need to be refrigerated..no! Kept it in a cool place, out of direct light. Added to the cake (which was whipped icing) 10 min before serving to guest. I received a number of compliments about the cake. My son loved it! Will definitely be using again and again. read more

No guarantee for shipping. I should have read the fine print. When a post office shipping delay left my package in Puerto Rico instead of my house, it was too late to figure out something new for my daughter's birthday. It does say on the page that they do not offer refunds in the case of a shipping delay. That is true. read more

I love coming here for the custom cake images! I love that they are willing to work with you to make the process and smooth and quick as possible. Every time I have visited the shop in Pelham, they are always so friendly and helpful. I usually get them to blow up balloons for me since I can pick up party plates and other supplies there as well. Highly recommend this local company! read more

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place because I ordered a cake topper on July 14, chose the shipping that would get it here in plenty of time, and it is still not here, yet the birthday has come and gone. I did call A Birthday Place letting them know I did not receive it and although they were very polite, they basically said once it leaves the store they are not responsible for whether or not I get it. It left Alabama after ordering on July 14 and then the tracking says it was in Jacksonville Florida, which by the way is where I live and it was supposed to be delivered, from July 18 to July 22. But instead of delivering it to my house, it then was tracking up to Memphis Tennessee for the next few days and now it is on to another destination but not Jacksonville Florida. Now, one might ask if that is really A Birthday Places' fault or not, but when I went online to order this particular cake topper, of the several places there were to choose from, I chose A Birthday Place to purchase it. Since I chose them, and I never received my cake topper, who else is there to blame? I paid for the cake topper and paid for the shipping and I never received it. read more

You guys this place is so cool! Was trying to find a specific type/topper for a cake without doing a full on custom cake, found this place online. They ship a customized sugar image topper to you! Comes with concise, easy to read, helpful instructions on how to apply the delicate sugar paper (sugar paper? Edible image?) And it was a big hit for us! 100% recommend the service. Easy to use the website, multiple shipping options, good quality product. Thanks for helping me do a semi-homemade yet professionally customized birthday cake. read more

The owner was very nice, the shop was well organized and the work was top notch. I would recommend Kathy to anyone who needs monogramming !

This place is my party supply GO TO! I am so thankful I came across their website. I must admit my first time ordering I was worried especially since not everyone uses quality products producing edible images. I can say The Birthday Place is AMAZING. The colors are vibrant and sizing is accurate. Images come off easy and applies effortlessly on smooth surfaces. Excellent customer service with impressive response times. read more

The edible image was perfect. I even added a note asking if it was possible to add a message and when it came, my message was on it.
