For one set of windows, I got a written estimate and for another project it was verbal. I wouldn't say not to use them, but just make sure you get everything you need to make you comfortable with going forward with the project. Again, I wish they would have a single point of contact - one person, one project and better communicate internally what needs to be done. especially when they don't return phone calls.

They even came back to cover a warrantied crack in a window a year later at no cost to us. More recently, we worked with Justin to replace our front door and open up a transom window above it. They were able to provide exactly the style and color we were looking for and we're do happy with the results. Consultant Bryan Witt was very rude and not knowledgeable about the store products. I explained to…read morehim that I was interested in purchasing a front entry door for a three flat building. He informed me that I needed a commercial door, when I asked did he have a display door, I was taken to the back door of their building to view a commercial door. I immediately informed him again, that I was looking for a front entry door. He walked me back to the front and preceded to search for the store catalog. When Bryan found the book he slung it across the table at me. The service was terrible, he repeatedly told me that the door I wanted would cost around $5000 on up. I made him aware that the price didn't matter I was interested in a quality door for my building. The service was just rude and disrespectful. Thanks Bryan for your poor customer service, I will take my business elswhere.

On 9/30/2023, I contracted with Chicago Fabrication Innovators LLC to purchase and install various…read moredoors and window screens, with an estimated completion date of 11/2023. Between 9/2023 and 3/2024, I asked for numerous updates without any meaningful responses. Between 6/2024 and 10/2024, I finally received half of the job installed, which also required corrective action to ensure no critters or rodents could enter my home b/c the contractor left gaps in the door and brickwork that exposed the inside of my home to the outside. Afterwards, the contractor gave me the run-around for another 6-months until agreeing to complete all work by the end of 5/2025, which did not happen. So here I am with a half-way done project and a contractor that refuses to refund any money to the 50% incomplete work. He has gone dark and silent on me - almost 2-years later.

I had a little bit of sticker shock from the first quote so decided this would be worth getting multiple quotes on. And Home Build was one of them due to their stellar Yelp reviews. However, i was willing to invest the time for the right doors and right price. Oscar and i met for over an hour. He was super friendly and knowledgeable about all my door options. He brought along a presentation (via his ipad), as well as materials so we got it all done within that hour. The other companies took a lot less, but resulted in a few trips to my house and lots of back and forth via email. I honestly probably prefer the latter since less time all at once.
