That was mid last week and I called today to learn it will be end of this week before it's looked at. That's 8 working days for a simple brake safety check. They gave me a time appt in 1 day. They also double checked my records, gave me a rough estimate and discussed probable problems getting a vehicle back on the road. They put me in touch with a brake specialist, not the person at the front desk. They made sure they will be ready with inventory in stock. I changed the appt to Les Schwab. I do understand current workloads but waiting longer than 7 days for a TEST is a signal they don't really want to earn my steady business. Maybe they have too much business. This was my first experience with Meineke, closest to my house, and I get lots of advertisement from them. They are off my list.

My daughter dropped the car off and was told worse case it would be up to 5k, for a full steering replacement. My daughter told me and I knew it was BS. She went to pick up her car and was told it would be around $850.00 to replace a $20 part. I knew based on my own experience and review of the car a few weeks before, the repair would be no more than $500.00 total. The shop charged $285.00 for their 2 hour assessment. Took me all of 20 seconds and a Google search to understand the problem, they basically told me what I already knew. Ends up I called a few other repair shops in the area, each quoting me between $400-$500 for the repair, no more than 2 hours of labor. This shop clearly attempted to take advantage of my daughter who's a college student. Do not trust this shop, ripoff for unnecessary charges.

Ken Lux was outside ready to leave when he asked what the problem was. Right away, he went inside his office and ran a diagnostic on our car. We found out the car was safe to drive home, and he told us what to have done once we got back home. Ken is an all-around great guy! If we lived in the area, he would definitely be our mechanic and we recommend him to everyone in the Pullman/Moscow area!
