Definitely could taste it being slightly over done. - My wife's burger: 7.5/10. She really enjoyed her swiss, mushroom burger but would prefer to go elsewhere. Buns were really fresh. Wife commented that she loved the slight taste of A1 sauce in her burger. Service: very friendly counter/server guy, decent atmosphere. They seemed busy enough. Fries portion was generous. Extra kudos for carrying 'Bubly' zero calorie fizzy-waters. The bad: The menu: We kept trying to look at all the different burgers but the danged menu kept changing on us. It was.... frustrating.... You spend extra minutes waiting around for the burger menu to come back only to have it disappear on you way too quickly. A 2 star loss for this needless frustration. Food wise, (for a burger place) 3.5 out of 5 stars. -2 stars for not being able to actually look at the burger menu without it constantly cycling to some other advert. The server said something along the lines of 'yeah, many people think that'.

If you're coming here during peak hours, the parking lot is a mess. There's not enough spots for the number of restaurants in this plaza so you could be waiting awhile or parking on the street. They've also converted a bunch of spots to 15 minute parking only. I think this Law & Orders location is pretty new. The menu is large and portions could be larger! I ended up with a 1/4 lb bacon cheeseburger and a poutine. They subscribe to the Five Guys philosophy of fries and just pack a ton to your meal. Burger was good, I will probably try the 1/2 burger...what am I saying, I didn't finish my meal. I think that one would be a better balance for the type of burger they're serving up than the 1/4 lber. Poutine was awesome. I really enjoyed it. "I'll be back" - Arnold

I had to pay upon ordering, cringed but left a tip as how do I know it will be great, right?! Paid with Visa and made it right to the place at the 15 min mark. It was ready to go. Killed me not to get fries but trying to be Spring-body ready! Haha! Just a hamburger, no cheese, loaded with veg and only hot sauce as a condiment. Love their raw onion. I tried on line as I was between appointments and inside the resto takes time to make. This just worked out and I'm so tempted to order another one. ;) I live too close to here!

The texture was the same throughout and I might even venture to say that the fries are actually far below average. I got the Cajun fries so I might want to try the regular ones before I write of their fries forever. Service was great - very quick and everyone was really nice. There is one thing that will bring me back here- it's the peanuts! These peanuts that are given away for FREE in an all-you-can-eat format were actually some of the best peanuts I've had! Next time I come, I am going to see if they have onion rings. For a place that specializes in just two things, they got to get their fries right.

Not all Royal Oaks are equal, some are certainly better than others. Overall, I would say this one was better than some. We were meeting later in the evening, so my husband and I already had dinner, so we just shared the Haddock Dippers ($9) and Sweet Potato Fries ($9). I also got a Strawberry Dream ($6.50) and my husband got a few Guinesses ($9.55 each). The Haddock Dippers came 4 per order. They were fairly small and more batter than fish, but the batter was crispy and they didn't taste like Captain Highliners at least. The fish came with tartar sauce. The sweet potato fries were thin and lightly battered. I enjoyed them, but just found the quantity lacking. The portion was really small, especially for $9. They came with a chipotle mayo dipping sauce. The Strawberry Dream was like a virgin strawberry daiquiri. It was good, but way too sweet for me, no surprise though, as I find most drinks way too sweet, lol. Service was alright. The patio was a good size. I like that we weren't close to other occupied tables. They have a table with a firepit in the middle, which I thought was cool. There were lots of mosquitoes out through, so be sure to put on bug repellent if you're out there in the evening. It's a chain pub and definitely meets the standards of such. Even in today's economy though, I found the portion sizes small. Lots of free parking in their private lot.
