It's been a while since I've been to Boucherville but I don't remember this Timmy's being there last time. It's newer than the A&W though that's for sure. This A&W is typical and I've been here many, many times because it's the closest place to get a fast bite to eat from my office in Boucherville so when I need to get a quick eat this is the place. I'm not a fan of Timmy's food so I won't go there for lunch. The thing about A&W is that it's a bit more expensive than the other burger chains like BK, McD's or Wendy's. The Double Teen alone is almost 8 bucks. That's just for the burger, not a combo (aka Trio in La Belle province). I ended up ordering the Double Teen "trio" and added onion rings (rondelle d'oignon) and it was like almost 18 bucks! Still, that root beer in a frosty mug where the top freezes up makes it all worth it. I really do not drink pop/soda much anymore but this place... how does Haley Williams put it? - "You are the only exception". The advantages of eating in besides the frosted glass mug is the fact you can sprinkle that seasoned salt on your fries. So.much.sodium.already and I just added more. The Double Teen is my go to though. Bacon cheeseburger and it's a double? Sold. In hindsight the onion rings aren't that great but I like the freshness of the fries and the food overall. We came here with local friends and had a delicious dinner. A highlight (perhaps fusion dish) is their steak on sizzling plate. The thinly sliced meat was cooking in front of us. No sauce. Nothing added. We could grill some mushroom on the side and add sea salt to it. Simple and so delicious. The izakaya grilled shell-on prawns are large and succulent. Grilled pork belly on skewers (Japanese izakaya style) were also tender and wonderful. The waiter was wonderful; he spoke French and English (we are a French-speaking group). He patiently took group photos for us, too. The whole place is decked out with neon lights and small delights. The "grotto" booths look like fun (but it's for 6 people). Even the ladies' room is fully decorated with wall length "mural" of a samurai. These are individual rooms with toilet and sink and are gender neutral.
