The server said it was tempura batter. It really wasn't tempura but it was tasty none the less. We split the 10 oz smoked meat sandwich platter ($15) which came with fries, cole slaw in a vinaigrette and dill pickle. The meat was hand cut and delicious! Nicely flavoured and pretty lean. Rye bread was fresh. They added yellow mustard instead of letting us do it ourselves. (My partner is not a fan.) We also split an entré sized Caesar salad. ($7) Romain could have been a little smaller. Croutons were fresh. Cheese was lovely. Real bacon bits. Presentation was very nice. Friendly atmosphere. Obviously full of locals. Very clean and bright. Recently renovated. Kitschy tavern style chairs and tables. Menu is limited. Smoked meat, spaghetti, nachos, poutine, pizza (all come with smoked meat on top) and wings. For this type of restaurant it was ideal. Another note about the service, I mentioned above that we split the smoked meat platter; it was served split into two baskets without being asked. A very nice touch.

We arrived around 11:45 am and just in time because by noon the line was out the door. I really enjoyed the poutine and hotdogs. I loved the gravy on the poutine, it was the right consistency and full of flavor. Cheese curds were fresh and made the squishy sound against my teeth and the fries were just soft enough without being soggy. Solid poutine! I also loved their hotdogs! Their all dressed hotdogs had a chunky mustard onion topping, which I really liked. Buns were buttery and toasted rather than steamed. I only ordered one but should have ordered three, they were great. Overall I really loved the vibe in this place, food came quickly and there were lots of places to sit. I did find the portions to be a bit small though. I wouldn't drive to Granby just for this place but if you are heading to the Eastern Townships or are in the area, it's worth stopping by!

The sauce was bland, cheese curds were good and fries were good. All together you get a mediocre poutine. Started with lattes, mine was a dirty chai (chai with a shot of espresso). Never had that before, interesting combo, but not for purists :) We each had the crèpes salées, savoury crepes filled with asparagus, cheese and ham, with hollandaise. Oh the ham was so good, big pieces and wonderfully textured. We each added a poached egg, because why not. Potatoes and a small fruit cup also on the plate. A maple butter for the fruit was absolutely amazing, but no way to eat all of it and I felt bad for the wastage of something so delicious. Would return yo try a grilled cheese sandwich, of which there are so many to choose from and seemed a hot item coming out of the kitchen. Service had zero flaws and was quick and efficient. About $30 each on the bill with tip, a very satisfying experience.
