When I was little my Mom and I would have lunch at A&W. I picked her up and decided to relive this memory. When went here for lunch and got the good ol frosted mug and filled it up with root beer. I got the coney dog and fries and she got a burger and fries. The root beer was nice and cold and delicious. The coney dog wasn't quite as good as I remembered and the fries could have been better but we had a great walk down memory lane. We had great conversations about the past growing up. Decided to stop here to grab a quick bite to eat before getting in the road and that was a mistake. The food was horrible! The fries did not look like the fries on their photos....and tasted like they were cooked in old grease. The chicken finger sliders were tasteless and dry....the bun was crumbly and peeling. December 5 2022 Drive up Order taker - very efficient, polite, easy to understand, no errors. Exactly as ordered. Hot dogs - Small and tasteless......Big disappointment. Will NEVER order again. Coney Island Hot Dog - Very sloppy and small bun came apart. Again the hot dog was small and the cheese dripped everywhere. Coney sauce was decent. French fries - Small & skimpy. Very disappointing. Diet Root Beers - Excellent!! I drove 30 minutes to get to the famous A & W Root Beer stand. What a waste, disappointing, and shattered their reputation. I can say I will never return. This fast food restaurant does a pretty good job mimicking a full service restaurant. First, the dining room is open while other nearby fast food places offer only drive-thru service. Second, staffers bring your meal to the table. Third, someone constantly circulates in the dining room, sanitizing tables and checking with customers for drink refills, condiments, or other needs. Clean restaurant and they're taking precautions during this time (glass divider at register, sit at every other table & distancing). Food came out quickly and hot, their frozen root beer float was amazing! The chicken tenders were juicy and crisp, definitely real chicken pieces and hence the most expensive item on menu too. Onion rings and cheese curds were hot and crispy, even when we got home (15mins drive). For a fast food restaurant and what we ordered, we're impressed and will definitely come back! In a handful of trips, this is the first time we saw multiple employees lounging in the dining area playing on their phones. The facility was not in a bad way, that it needed attention. But we also did not go into the restrooms. Sirarcha cheese curds where fresh out of the fryer. They had a bit of a kick to them, just the perfect amount. The fries were not the freshest. Don't go here. Order wrung up incorrectly through the drive thru. When they repeated the order back we even said I can't hear you. When we looked at the receipt, we were charged for a combo meal we didn't order. Pay attention, why would I have 5 drinks for 4 people. Ordered sandwiches without cheese. Went inside to get the burgers (that had cheese on them) fixed and the asshole teenager argued about it. CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT. I just wanted the sandwiches fixed. I stopped by the new A&W restaurant for an afternoon snack. There were quite a few cars in the drive thru and I'm not really a person who eats in the car so I decided to go in. I ordered a root beer and cheese curds with spicy papa sauce. The root beer was awesome, the sauce was tasty, and the cheese curds were not good. They had been sitting. After I ordered they had a big rush. This will do well in this location. I loved the root beer but I'm probably not rushing back for the food. Thumbs up for the nostalgia though! read more

Decided to try this newer location. I pulled into the parking lot and the drive thru was jammed with lots of cars. There is a nice outdoor seating area in front of the building. The building is small, therefore the dining area is pretty small as well. The inside was pretty clean, with a modern fast food/diner feel. I ordered a chili dog, onion rings and...root beer of course. If you're dining in they hand you a frosted mug. I walk over to the root beer tap and it's out of order. WHAT??? Come on! They did have root beer served out of the fountain drink dispenser but it does NOT taste quite the same as out of the tap. I waited 15 minutes for my food. It was busy at lunchtime, but not overly. Food came and it was pretty good. I'd like to come back when I know the tap is working and get a root beer float. read more

We had a mini family reunion here, which I wish we had elsewhere. First off, it's very tiny. It's set up very similar to Freddy's Steakhouse. Right when we sat down immediately we noticed flies. Sunday was not good day for them. We waited 20 mins in the drive thru. Looked like the customer was visiting with the order taker. We finally got to order. Was specific that we wanted ketchup, salt, napkins because these days they don't automatically put in the bag. Got to window, paid, got our food. No condiments as requested. Asked again and then was told they were out of ketchup. Fries without ketchup?? If we had been told that when we placed the order we would have left and gone next door. Worst of all chicken sliders were cold, cole slaw tasted spoiled and it was $8.99 without a drink. I'm sorry but if I order something I want it to be right and worth the price. Second visit in 2 months... This time I got a burger and the cheese curds. Again, the cheese curds are PHENOMENAL, although they were a bit greasy/oily compared to the first time. Possibly the oil was older, or they had been sitting a while, or something, but still heavenly IMO. The double cheese burger I would honestly only give a about a 5 out of 10 stars. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't really all that good either. I've had far worse, so I guess you could say it was on par with most other drive thru, fast service based places that don't necessarily specialize in burgers. One last thing is that I was slightly disappointed to see the famous root beer coming out of a regular fountain with the other drink options. Like i mentioned in my first review, I seem to remember 10-15 years ago (different location BTW) where the root beer came out of its own special tap, more like a beer dispenser at a bar. Maybe I'm wrong or I'm confusing a memory with somewhere else, but I feel like it just tasted better, more creamy perhaps, and added a bit of uniqueness to the A&W experience. read more

I figured I'd review this place myself since it's so new and has so few reviews. Short and sweet: if you get frustrated easily, come back in a few months. This place is ran by 16y/os working their first summer job. They're confused, not sure how to use their time. Frankly, they appear a little over staffed to the point of redundancy. It's clear that they're still getting the hang of the routine: losing track of orders and floats, a lot of clueless looks. I'll give you a run down of the experience. We came in on a Saturday night. Was expecting a huge line but was pleasantly surprised that that we walked in to a lovely lady waiting for us to order. We took our time figuring out what we wanted: I ordered a Papa Burger combo with fried and a freeze and my dad ordered the combo with cheese curds and a float. The young woman working up front was a doll. She was clearly over worked and I was happy to tell her that she was doing a great job. We sat down and were harassed by flies. I can't be mad--the door was open a lot ‍ Make of that what you will. We got our food fairly quick and it was very hot. My fries were great--the cheese curds were good. Everything was a little too salty. The burger was delicious. We were about halfway through with our food when a lady asked if we'd had our drinks yet. We said no she said she'd be right on it. Came back a few minutes later and she was surprised we still didn't have them. We noticed a few kids/workers entering the dining room with floats looking pretty clueless as to where they belonged. They'd taken our table number card already so we asked if it was our order and they gave it to us. It was under full (no problem we just went to the soda fountain and put some more in there) Few minutes later someone comes over and sets two more mugs on our table. Uhhh. Clearly some confusion. These were OVER full and very messy but looked very yummy. The manager shrugged and just gave us the extra drinks. We graciously accepted. They were delicious. Very messy. The takeaway? If you don't have the patience or don't have some teenage kids yourself, you might not be too happy with the experience. It was clear we weren't the only table with missing drinks. But the food was very good and everyone was very kind. I'd expect that in a few months this place will be doing fantastic. A few notes for the store: -Maybe find a fly trap A little too many for my taste and might turn people away. -Leave the table numbers on the table. If you have to get them after the guest has left, so be it. The poor float-makers had no idea where the drinks belonged. -Let there be less people working. I understand the busyness. But there were a lot of employees with little to do and I can imagine that the overstaffing was doing more harm than good. Have a dozen on staff, let them learn to be working constantly (I don't think these kids get that quite yet) -Find some consistency with the floats Get some notches on the mugs that the employees can 'pour' to or something... I can imagine some pissed off customers getting short handed or just plain overwhelmed. My dad lost half of one of his floats from just overflowing all over the table (sorry to whoever had to clean that up) -Ease up on the salt. One shake is good Overall, I'm not mad at the place. We all had our first summer job flipping burgers. We all had people be patient for us. Be patient for them. In a few months, the consistency will be there. They'll know how to work harder and faster. But if you don't have the patience, don't get mad at the poor kids. They're still learning. read more

I have been avoiding this place because the drive-through is always backed up to the parking lot of the shopping center. Today I took a chance and got in the drive thru line with 6 cars ahead of me at 1:20 in the afternoon. After sitting in the drive thru for 30 min, I finally received my food only to open the bag and realize my order was wrong. They had totally forgotten my french fries. Once I got my french fries I pulled around the building and realized I had received the wrong drink. I had to go inside and get it replaced. There were only a handful of people inside the restaurant so I know they were not busy. The staff inside seem to move in slow motion without a care to the world. Great place! Wish there was more going down 70 west but I always make the drive! Pork lion sandwich is huge, crispy and so good! Sometimes the wait is longer then you would like but the food is always fresh! Everything on the menu is a must try! Love the chilli cheese fries!! read more

Been several times. Food is always hot and good! Root Beer is always cold and love getting out of the tap instead of the soda machine!

Unfortunately the good old days haven't returned with this A&W. For a restaurant that's only been open for a little over a month it was pretty dirty. Too many flies to count. We didn't get to try the in house root beer because it was out of order and we got it out of the fountain machine instead. Food overall pretty decent. Papa Burger prepared very well, fries probably should have been thrown out and replaced with some fresh ones because they were cold and hard. Drive-Thru was efficient, brought home a gallon of root beer. Instead of jugs like they used to have, it comes in a big plastic sack - and you'd better drink it the day you bring it home or it will be flat the next day, unfortunately. Nice staff, yummy food and amazing floats! Brought the 2 year old here today and let him have his first soda. We had a comfy booth that was clean, food brought to our table, root beer float that was huge, good music and a cards game on the tv's. I visited this establishment as I have for my son many times. There is always a wait (as to be expected) what was troubling was the complete disregard for being respectful to me as a patron when taking my order. I was asked how I could be helped, as I began ordering I was asked what I wanted to drink, I told the employee, she then said something, I mentioned I couldn't understand her she just stopped taking my order, made me wait 5 minutes, she then cane back over the speaker to yell I do not have that pick something else. I then came up to the window where the employee kept talking over me as I was trying to give my order to the manager. I was then able to order, the order came fairly quickly...but then the disgruntled employee basically threw my food and slammed the Drive thru windows closed. I will not ever go back as long as that employee was there....she gave my child the impression that it's okay to treat others that way. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. read more

We couldn't wait to try this new restaurant! It always looks so busy. The employees were friendly and looked like they were trying. The restaurant wasn't well kept and there were plenty of flies flying around. It took quite some time to get our food even though there was only one other customer in there. My sons hotdog was burnt. My daughter's hamburger wasn't made how she ordered it. The food was edible but we were definitely expecting more. Not sure we will make this a regular stop. read more
