I came in here a couple weeks ago with my buddy Matt while we were in the area. A&W is like one of his favorite fast food places. So i was thrilled I could find one close to my doctor to take him.
We walked in, and it is inside a gas station. Which is pretty typical of most A&W locations. It was clean, which was great. I saw employees cleaning while we were there. Everyone appeared to be useful.
We walk up to the counter and were immediately greeted. I wasn't terribly impressed with the kid taking our order. He said hi, and asked what he could get for us. As I start ordering, he interrupts me to ask if we were eating there or taking it out. I'm literally in the middle of my order and I'm interrupted by this kid. Like, he greeted us, gave us the option to order by asking what we wanted, and then interrupts. I'd start with that question instead, then ask what he can get for us. After being half way through my order and being interrupted by this question, he asks again what we wanted. So I had to start my order all over again. What a waste of my time. I know their computer system prevents them from inputting anything until they answer the "for here or to go" question, but ask the damn question first!
After ordering, our food comes out. It's literally the same order for both Matt and I that we always order. Nothing new and definitely nothing exciting. My big complaint was my burger was insanely salty. Like, they had dumped several packets of salt on the burger, and then covered it with cheese. This is normally a meal I can finish without an issue. But it was so salty, I couldn't even eat half of it. So I basically paid for cheese curds and a soda for my lunch, along with a few veggies on my burger. I was not thrilled or impressed. Matt even commented that I wasn't eating my food.
Would I return? Probably not. It just happened to be that we were in the area and it worked out. But I simply wasn't impressed by this experience. I'm never excited about fast food, but I've also never thrown half my burger away for being too salty.
