I read a a few bad reviews prior to coming here, but since my normal place wasn't open today, I figured I'd give it a try anyway thinking maybe they've improved upon seeing the other reviews. That's not the case. The owner welcomed me and was very nice! There was only one other person here so I didn't wait at all. (Not at all surprised now that I was the only other customer). The woman who did my pedicure was nice but we didn't chat at all. She was incredibly rough on my toes. I get pedicures regularly and my toes have never hurt so badly during a pedicure. The cuticle clipping hurt SO badly and I know she went way too deep because the alcohol spray used before they painted my toes burned horribly! When she put the cuticle softener lotion on, she touched the bottle directly to my toes - who knows how many other toes those have been on.... She also didn't scrape the dirt out of the sides of my nails, though I could see it clearly from the chair on one of my toes. My last complaint, and this one is petty, but I've never been somewhere where I have to ASK for the chair to he reclined. They didn't offer the massage and wouldn't give me the remote for the chair. I really really wanted this to be a good place but it looks like the other reviews were accurate and they haven't improved at all. The only positive is that she painted my toes flawlessly, but I'm just truly hoping they aren't sore for days and I don't get any infections from open wounds caused during the pedicure. I've never been concerned about infection leaving a nail salon before, so this makes me really sad. read more

Use to like this place... have referred many people here... HOWEVER... came here with my 3 teenage daughters & felt like an outcast this time. Tried to talk to staff with only one ended answers. They would barely speak to us with us trying hard to carry a conversation. The one main lady here speaks & understands 100% English & use to be nice, but seemed to have changed. My oldest daughter left crying because one of the ladies made her toes bleed because she was so rough on her. My other two daughters said they never want to go back because the staff was so rough on their toes they ached for days. Hands down this was the best pedicure I've ever had! I was a walk in and they were able to give me a pest right away. The tech did a Collagen mask on my feet, which I've never had before but would highly recommend and will get this every time I go there now. I have never tried this nail salon before. I was on my way to Jacksonville and stopped by. everything was fine until the one doing my nails got a call from her husband and says on the phone " No I'm not busy, my appointment is at 3 I can go let the dogs out" like I wasn't sitting right there. she then told the other lady to come finish my nails. so the other lady starts doing my nails tell ME WHY ALL MY NAILS ARE DIFFERENT SIZES. the hand that the girl did before she left is way bigger than the one the other lady did. one hand has thick nails the others are thin. I was so upset I didn't even want her to finish after I kept looking at them and asking her if they were going to look the same. then I go to pay they charge me $45 for nails that are crooked & different lengths. why didn't I just get them to fix them ? because they had 4 other people sitting in the lobby that had made appointments and they were rushing to get me out of there because she knew she messed up my nails. I actually wanted to get my feet done to but after my nails look the way they do and how she burnt and cut up my cuticles she wasn't touching my feet. read more

This was my first time trying this nail salon and I really enjoyed my manicure with Michelle. My grandmother has never had a mani and pedi before so I treated her to one for her birthday. My mom couldn't believe that this was a family business and have been on the island for 11 years. We all got shellac polish, however, my mom's french starting chipping 2 days later. My daughter recommended A&TNails. I explained what I wanted, the technician showed me an example of what he understood I wanted and we agreed on the shape. As he was doing my nails I asked twice if that was right. He reassured me that it would be right when he finished. After he finished one hand I told him I didn't like it, that it was not what he showed me he was going to do. He was extremely angry that I did not like his work and said I should have told him before he got so far, even though I did question his work. He proceeded to cut off a nail, directly into my nail bed. I pulled my hand away and told him to stop. Another technician said she would fix it while the other said it looked fine. The fact is that I didn't think it looked fine! They proceeded to to bash me (although I couldn't tell what they were saying, I could tell the tone and demeanor) and they proceeded to trash my nails. I finally told them to stop and left in tears. I have never been treated so badly by a business in my life. I understand that things can go wrong, misunderstandings and so on but to be treated that way was beyond unprofessional. I would never, under any circumstances step foot near this establishment ever again. Absolutely horrible. read more

Pedi was very basic with no extra choices to choose from such as hot wax etc. But service was really good!

I went in to this nail salon a few days before Christmas. I was new to the area and could not find a nail salon that I liked. I was hoping this one would finally be it. The gentleman that did my nails seemed to understand what I wanted. I wanted a fill and did not want dark pink. When he began I thought the pink had an almost fluorescent color, but he stated it was not dark. I was unsure at that point, but thought the pink would be fine once my nails were buffed and finished. The color did not change and when I say it was a fluorescent pink I am not exaggerating! It looked totally unnatural and I told him so several times. He had one of the other techs take over as he seemed upset that I was not happy. She at first tried polishing one nail pink, but it did not look like I wanted. She then agreed to try a gel pink over his pink which made very little difference. By this time I was frustrated and told her just to finish the pink gel knowing I would have to go somewhere else to repair his work. When it was time to pay I was told it was $60.00. I said that was extreme for a fill. The tech said the fill was $45.00 and the pink gel was an additional $15.00. I told her I thought it was ridiculous to charge me for something to cover the botched job the man did. Another heavier set tech butted in saying I should have said something if I didn't like what he was doing. Totally lousy customer service by this tech, as well as the man and woman that turns out to be the owners. The only reason I point out 'heavier set tech' is because the younger one that tried to repair it was very nice, but this other one needs to not make rude comments to customers. I will not return to this shop and will let others know to stay away. read more

Received a gift certificate to A & T Nails for Christmas and thought I would try them out. I've have acrylic nails in the past and wanted a full set. I called the day before to set an appointment. The girl who answered was very nice, friendly. I asked about pricing and availability and booked for the following morning. When I arrived I was seated right away. The shop appeared clean and quiet. The woman who took care of me was not talkative (which was fine), but didn't seem to communicate very well either. I explained to her more than once what I wanted (not wide, not thick). She appeared to understand my request, would nod her head, but then would continue as she pleased. By the time she finished I was frustrated. My nails didn't look anything like what I had asked for (several times). I returned on their next business day to see if they could be fixed. The shop was empty when I entered and I was greeted by a gentleman who said he could fix them. As I sat down the first thing he said was that he remembered me. He said the tech told him that she didn't understand what I wanted. At first I thought , ok no problem sometimes accents can cause miscommunication. But as he continued I realized what he was saying was that I wasn't clear with what I wanted. He ended by saying I should have brought a picture. OK, so at that point I found a picture on-line and showed him, so there would be no further confusion. He still didn't shape them right. He kept asking if I wanted coffin shape. The picture I showed him was nothing like coffin shape. The more I showed him, the more indignant he became, telling me their time is money. Um, so is mine. He also cut me several times while filing my nails. As an added plus, I was treated to dirty looks and mutterings from the tech who had originally done my nails. I have been going to A&T Nails for almost 3 years now and if I could give this place 10 stars I would! I can't say enough great things about this place! This is a great mom and pop shop and the family is always so sweet and greets me every time I come in. I see Michelle primarily but I have seen everyone else. The place is soo clean and has a great atmosphere. They have a great selection of colors! When you walk in this shop you don't get the nasty smell of chemicals. It smells very clean but also not too over whelming and I love that most because I get headaches with strong chemical smells. I have brought friends and my mom with me several times and now they are repeating customers because they loved the work and the atmosphere so much. Over the years Michelle has become a friend of mine and someone that literally knows my life story and its nice knowing she genuinely cares about her customers. When it comes to my nails I am very OCD and I will pick at them. Michelle does an AMAZING job on my nails and makes them perfect. She takes her time to make sure it is done right and my nails never pop off (the old salon I went to my nails always popped off). I could go on and on about how much I love this shop!! I always get so many compliments on my nails! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone! 12/10 Love this shop!!! read more
