I used Chimney Checkers today for my gas fireplace. The pilot light would not stay on. I called…read moreyesterday and they were here today. Joe & Vince are really good at what they do. They got it up and running quickly. Turns out there was corrosion built up. I also use them annually for my dryer vent clean out. They are a great team, always work clean and are very friendly and trustworthy. They are repair guys, not salespeople. They will work hard to fix the issue instead of trying to sell a replacement like other fireplace companies in the area do. Their pricing is reasonable. I will absolutely use them again for annual dryer clean outs and if there are any other issues with the fireplace. Chimney Checkers 757.689.3161 http://www.chimneycheckers.com

I now learn in 2025 that they did none of the requisite work and clearly lied to city officials that it was done to code. I have now hired a different company to do the work. Could not seem to get a call back from the office. 3 weeks and 3 calls was the magic number. Tech was nice enough, called to let me k now he over charged me by $185.00 and said he notified the office. Seven days out I called and was told nothing had been reported. They verified I was over charged, called to say they were issuing a refund, then canceled the refund. Put in a call today. What arrived at my home were two guys who by their own admission knew nothing about gas fireplaces / inserts, could not answer any questions and were only there to take pictures and get rough measurements. They informed me I would receive a quote by the end of the day or the following morning at the latest. Hard to provide a quote when no decision was made as to which type/style/brand of unit was ever discussed. It has been a week and the only thing I have received is an email stating the work has been completed and asking me for a review.

I had a serious issue in which my converted garage family room was several degrees colder in the winter and approx that many hotter in the summer because my unused chimney was sucking air from the room up through the chimney out into the atmosphere. They efficiently demolished my chimney and bricked up the wall where the chimney had been. They did a spectacular job, and I can already tell a significant difference. The price was excellent as well, considering how difficult the job was to complete. I intend to use them in the future for any other masonry work I might require, and I highly recommend them to anyone for their chimney needs. They do excellent work demolishing chimneys!

DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! I am currently in military and moved out from the residence we were renting…read morefrom them over a month ago. They are trying to nickel and dime my wife and I for things that are blatantly false! This company tried to make us pay for a whole month of rent because we were PCS'ing on the 3rd of April. Unlike the numerous other rental companies, this company would not pro-rate us for the 3 days we would have been in the house in April, despite providing them 2 months notice. They claim we took a TV mount from the property when there was never one there when we arrived there. They are charging us for carpet cleaning when I already paid to have to property professionally cleaned before we left! among other BS charges include Chimney inspection (we never used), flea treatment (our dogs do not have fleas), turning the water off (it was turned off mid-carpet cleaning and the cleaner had to use the neighbors water) and trash removal (for trash left in the garbage can after we left, which was very little at that). We were relatively great tenants. We left the house when it was being showed to other possible tenants and cleaned up pretty well for the showing. We weren't loud or causing problems for the neighbors. We kept the house clean, even with 2 dogs. We left the house in better condition than when we arrived at the house to begin with and the house was cleaned SPOTLESS when we left! If you are in the military DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. They will take advantage of you not being in the area to dispute any charges and will expect you to pay in full.
