We have a 120 gal. water heater that we have rented from I&M and now AWHR since 1990. It started…read moreblowing air so we called AWHR and they tried to get several plumbers to come out and fix it but all their "first choice" plumbers were tied up so they finally called Wyatt & Sons, we have never heard of them but after they left our house I came to the conclusion that AWHR should have made Wyatt & Sons their first choice. Barry found the problem right away and explained that at least one of the elements was burnt out and he was not sure he could get another one. He drove several miles into Marion and went to several stores and found 2 new elements and was back to our house in about an hour and had everything repaired and working in a half hour. This young man did a great job and went beyond my expectations and I now have a new plumber to take care of any plumbing needs that I cannot do myself. Don Hill

I interviewed five plumbing companies, including Wyatt & Son's Plumbing. When you choose a company…read moreto work for you, it should be no different than candidates interviewing for jobs. I treat each company that comes out with respect; we discuss the various aspects of the job and how the job will be performed. Ultimately, we end up in salary (project cost) discussions. COMMUNICATION Wyatt and Son's was incredibly impressive. I used the Yelp projects system, and communication was seamless. JOB REQUIREMENTS 1. Replace a Bradford 50g water heater (leaking from the top) 2. Replace a Kenmore water softener that was 15 years old. 3. Fix a 40' run of 2.5" kitchen sink pipe detached from the ceiling due to the strap cables, held in by nails, used by the original installers. It wasn't draining anymore and was full of gunk. TECHNICAL INTERACTIONS I'm an incredibly technical person and engineer. I research everything from plumbing, electrical, carpet, etc. I like to know how things are installed and how they work for the simple fact of educating myself to get the best use out of everything. Barry and his son answered every question, and I never felt disrespected. While Barry has an opinion on specific equipment, which people should have, he walked me through the "whys" of arriving at his conclusion. Barry's approach demonstrated his openness to educating others and learning himself. I appreciated our time. PRICE Wyatt & Son's Plumbing price is incredibly competitive. There are a couple of things I look at: 1. How much am I paying for parts? 2. How much am I paying for labor? Parts are a commodity. You can find every price for every item online. I'm not a fan of companies who mark up their prices. I have to pay sales tax on parts, and every dollar added is more money out of my pocket on taxes. FINAL DECISION The decision came down to Wyatt and Son's Plumbing and another company. Nothing is worse than telling a fantastic candidate/company they won't receive the job. I had no joy in sending the message to Barry, and still, as of writing this review, I'd have Barry out in a heartbeat to quote the next job; there will always be another. TO THE READER Wyatt & Son's Plumbing must be a part of your quoting process. Their professionalism is top-notch, their interactions and knowledge are excellent, and their pricing is incredibly competitive, way cheaper than the large companies. TO BARRY Thank you again for coming to the house and participating in the process. The final decision was incredibly difficult. I hope this review becomes a cornerstone of continuing to send business your way. Wyatt & Son's Plumbing should be a part of everyone's selection process. I'll be passing referrals your way as they come along.

When we purchased our home two summers ago it needed a new AC unit. MRS was recommended to us by…read moreour realtor. Getting the quote for the unit and getting it installed was a breeze. However, as soon as it got hot out the unit froze up. We are now going on the third summer with no AC because they continue to send out technicians to 'fix' the issue. We are now out thousands of dollars for a new unit and repairs to make this new unit actually work and it still does not work without freezing up.

I've waited several weeks to post this review as I've been hoping that MRS would make this…read moresituation right. My family has been MRS customers as long as I can remember. My father even owned his own business for about 25 years before selling to someone and he used MRS for his business. Unfortunately, it seems they are getting too big for their britches and don't care about the customer anymore. They seem to care about how much money they can drain from your bank account. Our furnace has gone out over and over again this winter. Luckily, we have a gas fireplace, so the first 2 or 3 times it went out (all on a Friday or Saturday of course) we just switched that on and we were fine. We still wanted our furnace fixed of course, so we called MRS. Jeff Nation came the first time and worked on our furnace. We've had Jeff before. We like Jeff. Unfortunately, Jeff doesn't own the place. He replaced a part and did some work. We paid $80 for the service call and about $250 for repairs. The second time, when our heat did the same exact thing, he came again. We got charged another $80 for a service call and were told it was our filters. They were too dirty and caused the furnace to overheat. As soon as he left I looked at my husband and said - There's no way it's just the filters. It hasn't been THAT long since we changed them and that's never happened before and I told him I expected to be calling them back again soon for the same exact thing... which is exactly what happened. But this time, I insisted on knowing wether we would be charged yet another service call. The lady in the office said it depends on wether it's for the same problem or not. Well thing is, I say, I don't believe for one second it was the filters last time and our furnace is still doing the same thing it was doing before you guys came the first two times. So yeah. I would say it's the same problem. She told me she would have to talk to some guy and call me back... Which never happened (because they don't care). I never received my return call and when I finally called back and insisted on talking to him he gave me an answer I would expect to get from a company that doesn't care and just wants your money - Oh, those old systems will nickel and dime you to death. But he still couldn't just waive the service call fee for once for a customer who's entire family uses their services and is upset. Really? It might be time for us to buy a new system, I won't argue there, but there is a specific problem going on here and here's the thing... I wouldn't mind paying for some different parts and labor. I'm not completely unreasonable and I understand that no one's perfect. Everyone makes mistakes. They may NEVER be able to find the problem/answer and that's okay. What's NOT okay is a company I've used for years trying to charge me over and over for the same service call and generally acting like they don't care (except for Jeff, if it were Jeff's company he would have come back without charging us again). Bottom line - MRS will give you good service as long as they can find the problem, but they aren't cheap. Also, don't expect the higher ups to actually care about you... the customer.
