I didn't ask for a quote because previously their prices were fair. This time, I got an invoice from Benjamin Franklin for $469.61. I called to ask for a price breakdown, parts vs. labor. I was told Benjamin Franklin doesn't do that; they charge a flat rate for the service. The disposal they installed has a list price of $139.00. That means I was charged $330 for an hour or two of labor. Don't use Benjamin Franklin or Tomlinson Plumbing without first getting a quote.

He said tech made 3 calls,( 2 because of their mistake), he didn't charge for the inducer motor(he removed it with no charge when I agreed to purchase a furnace from Petermans. I looked at the purchase agreement and ran the numbers. They don"t itemize but give total cost as single figure which is high but they show discounts and get your price $7636-$1144= $6492 $5670 furnace + $1000 discount +$966 gross motor = $7636. $6492 my price - $822 net motor = $5670. They charged me for the inducer motor which they said they didn't by hiding it at a gross cost of $ 7636. This is a deceptive sales practice.

We usually avoid warranty and service packages, so I wasn't sure whether my husband would agree to it. But, the plumber said he could set up the maintenance plan, then cancel it if my husband opposed the idea. We went ahead and purchased the maintenance plan. Today was the first maintenance visit, and the HVAC guy disassembled our furnace and outside AC unit, pointed out potential problems, and advised me on whether there were major issues or whether we could wait on replacement. He also replaced the filter on the furnace, going to the trouble of finding us a less expensive version of the usual model. He spent well over 2 hours working on and cleaning our units. The company seems very committed to good service. They call to confirm the appointment, show up when they say they will, and cover their shoes with these funny little slipper-things before they come in the house. The office also calls with a follow up survey and asks whether the technician arrived on time, covered his feet, etc. They only fault I could find was that I was expecting a plumbing evaluation today, not an HVAC. I don't know where that miscommunication happened, but it wasn't a big deal to me. I figured that Summers was a national company with franchises, because they're pretty slick with branding. As it turns out, they are local to central Indiana but have several branch offices.

The water heater was under warranty was the good news, however the labor to reinstall the new water heater isn't covered. The front desk person told me that they (Enterprise) have nothing to do concerning the warranty of the water heater, that comes from the manufacturer. So how could we (Enterprise) expect the labor to be covered as well. Hmm, if your product fails that you sell, why would the customer be expected to pay for the installation again....? On top of all of that, the invoice that was emailed to me stated it took 3 hours to install, the installer was at my house for a little over an hour. So either the installer lied about his time or the owner is knowingly padding his invoices. Either way, the owner told us to take our business elsewhere.

The walls are wet. The toilet overflowed. We now have to replace the flooring and walls on one side of the house. It's level 2 or 3 contamination. I called for emergency service, and the phone person was rude and gave no date or time. Let's just say we went with a different company for the cleanup and repairs.
