However, there is sometimes a place for "experts", people who do a thing, who have trained, and prepared, and have the tools to achieve a correct outcome. There is nothing wrong with getting some tips for a minor problem, and (if you are a bit handy) taking the DIY route on something. However there are some things that we should leave to those who have trained, worked hard to acheive the skills to do a thing; governance, surgery, complex plumbing, electric, tree felling, bicycle derailleurs! I have the luxury of being able to leave work in the middle of a day on Friday. I called, they were available, we drove over, they took the bike right in. Had some pleasant conversation, they fixed it in 15 minutes ($20), and educated us [they always do]. We have been here 3 times now, and 3 times an absolutely 100% positive experience. This is a quality business, with capable caring folks. Good products/service/expertise isn't "cheap" it shouldn't be. This place cares about the work they do, they care about cyclists and they are an excellent resource. This is our new "go to".

About three weeks later, someone points out that my son's helmet is too small, doesn't cover his forehead. I decided to trust Croft on bike doc people since they must know what they are doing. A few days later someone else says the same thing. So I call them...wondering if they can reevaluate. This is an expensive helmet, and my kids safety is paramount. Welp, they said I was a few days outside of their 30 day return/exchange window. Wouldn't budge. Looks like we'll be shopping for a helmet and our bikes elsewhere. Anyway, place doesn't correct mistakes, and too inflexible on such a small thing to keep a return customer happy and safe without charging them more money.

A mile is a hike in bike shoes so my husband tried to get the tire off but it was extra tight and he was hungry and exhausted so biked on to get the truck. After passing they stopped talked to each other and turned around asked was I ok-yes just waiting on hubby to pick me up couldn't get the tire off to fix my flat. I can try if you like says, Nick. I said no thank you, I'm good. He then shared that he worked at Pedal Pushers and he fixes bikes all the time so if I had my tools he would give it a shot. Needless to say in seconds he had the tire off and tube out, only my husband had taken the new ones with him! Suffering Succotash! Nick and his friend were so considerate to stop. Nick's skills were superb. After removing the tube he check my tire for glass, chatted about how he hadn't seen a Motobecane in years and taught me a few things. The skates are affordable, quality skates. They come with a 90 day warranty in case of any defects, and a year of adjustments or care that the shop offers for your skates. The shop has been in this location for 31 years and is run by Kevin (he was professional, hilarious, and very knowledgeable about the skates). We came from Baltimore, so it was a little over an hr drive. The entire process from choosing, trying on, and getting the wheels/brakes adjusted, and paying was about 40 minutes. That included him helping other customers at the same time. A great multitasker for sure! His son was also there helping as well. This shop is located in a small shopping strip. The parking lot was a little tight but definitely doable and it wasn't packed. If you are looking for skates in any size from kids to adults definitely check them out asap!

I wanted to get the handlebars adjusted on my Specialized road bike, but they went above and beyond. They started working on my bike as soon as I walked in. In addition to adjusting the handlebars, they advised me that my seat was too low and adjusted it as well. I had been less than enthusiastic since our last tandem bike jaunt in DC left me ragged and looking forward to the end. We rented a tandem bike from a known rental in DC; the bike was rickety and took effort even on the completely flat route we were on. My GF found Pedego and opted for the tandem electric bike. This was a 180 degree experience from the other rental company jn DC. The owner was friendly, attentive, enthusiastic and really made us feel welcome. He knows his bikes gave us a quick run down that made us feel comfortable. The bikes are impeccabley maintained and he's thought of everything including helmets, storage pouch, bike lock, flat tire kit etc. He was even extremely well versed on the route to Mt. Vernon. Every pointer he gave us was spot on. We made it to Mt. Vernon and enjoyed food, history, and culture. The way back was fun since the bike did all the work, electric is the way to go for tandem bike long hauls. I plan on coming back to buy some accessories for my own fat tire e-bikes. This was a memorable experience that was easy and affordable.
