WARNING: Beware! Purchasing cabinets from this company put me in a situation where ASSAULT RIFLES were aimed at me and my workers, my house surrounded, and a $5000+ scam attempt. Despite the extreme nature, this actually happened.
I saw an ad on Facebook from Kevin offering Euro cabinets. Despite finding better-priced options with slightly longer turnaround times, I chose Koncept Millwork (aka "A&K Building Materials") based on positive reviews and a quick turnaround.
Before payment, I meticulously reviewed the quote with Kevin, covering sizes, color, fillers, toe kicks, birch plywood material, and delivery. Everything checked out, and I accepted the price. However, after making a wire payment, things got weird.
Concerned about my tight schedule, I reconfirmed details with Kevin. He suddenly claimed extras like toe kicks, fillers, and delivery were not included, contradicting our earlier agreement. Accused of lying, I provided proof of our conversation, forcing them to honor the original terms.
On the first delivery day, cabinets arrived, and I discovered they were made of PARTICLE BOARD instead of the promised BIRCH PLYWOOD. David assured me he'd fix it, but contacting Kevin exposed more lies, with attempts to blame me for not deciphering "CODE" in the quote only they would know.
After hours of dispute, they agreed to replace the cabinets with a catch that I had to paint them myself. Frustrated and behind schedule, I agreed just to be done with them.
Promised a swift redelivery, I waited for a 3 weeks, enduring a constant runaround of a actually delivery day. Threatening legal action finally prompted a confirmed delivery date.
On the second delivery day, my life was put in a dangerous situation. A non-company van delivered unassembled plywood, with no labels, no inventory list, or any instructions. When I raised concerns that the delivery is not acceptable, Nell gave me the runaround, and hours passed with no resolution. Meanwhile the driver was in no rush, ate lunch, made conversation, and was calling to help assist with getting us a resolution.
Finally Kevin called the driver, asked to speak to me, then started accusing me of holding the driver hostage instead of discussing a resolution. He then hung up, called the police and said we "kidnapped his driver and are holding him hostage" which is crazy... cops arrive block our entire street off, surrounded the property, pointed rifles at all of us. After being detained, we explained the situation, and the police apologized. They immediately let us go and empathized for us and suggested taking them to court. The owner, David, called shortly after found it amusing, and said to sue him.
In the end, the driver was order to leave by David with the plywood, leaving me without the cabinets or a refund.
I would avoid this company at all cost, this could of ended really bad, with someone hurt, or far worst. I will be taking legal action. read more
