We brought them in to do carpet/tile cleaning and some basic decluttering before selling a family home. Before the job started, we specifically talked about budget limits and concerns and were told it would be around 1-2 hours of decluttering and 3-4 hours of cleaning. What actually happened felt like major scope creep. 9 hours of cleaning and 5 hours of decluttering! Without asking us first, they went far beyond what we discussed -- packing parts of the garage, removing art from walls, boxing up belongings, and charging us $595 for packing materials. We didn't ask them to or even give them permission to pack anything beyond just clearing off counters, etc. Our biggest issue was the lack of communication. If a job is suddenly becoming 2-3x larger than expected and agreed upon, you call the customer before continuing. That never happened. Instead, we were handed a huge invoice afterward and told all the extra work was "necessary." Since they are calling it necessary, then we just have to pay for it. I guess we should be glad they didn't decide to paint the place and charge us for that too. The whole thing ended up feeling less like an estimate and more like a blank check. To make matters worse, when we tried to question the charges and explain our concerns, the conversation quickly turned defensive and escalated into threats about filing "Theft of Service" claims if payment wasn't made immediately. That was honestly shocking considering we were still trying to resolve the disagreement in good faith. Maybe they do good work for some people, but our experience involved poor communication, unauthorized scope expansion, unexpectedly high charges, and pressure tactics we were very uncomfortable with.

Factor Drive Time From Flex Movers Office into the Amount of Time you actually need movers. I asked for 2 people for 2 hours and received a quote of $525. The movers arrived and the move completed at the 2 hours mark. The movers assigned were strong and worked quickly. We used my own Uhaul trailer and did not make use of the Toyota Corolla the movers arrived in. However, the clock on hours starts ticking when they leave their own office and ends by adding the transit time after the move to return back to their own office. Thus, I was charged for 40 minutes of drive time in addition to the 2 hours of the actual move. This was not communicated clearly to me at the time of the quote and I had some sticker shock at the end. My $525 2:00 hour move became a $667 2:45 hour move. They did give me a slight discount off the amount due to the communication error. However, even after the discount, I paid almost $100 more than the 2 hour quote to account for their drive time to and from their office. After I filled it out I got an error message. Since that didn't work I called the number on the website around 9 p.m. to leave a message to get a call back in the morning. To my surprise, someone answered the phone. I told him that I was just wanted to get a quote. He gave me some prices, which were very high. Telling me I would have to pay 4-6 hours to load a very small 2 bedroom apartment and pay 4-6 hours to unload it. The cost was outrageous. I told him that I didn't have much to move and that it would take less time. He became angry and asked me "You know it is 9:00 at night, right??" I asked him "You know you chose to answer the phone at 9:00 at night, right? I just planned on leaving a message." I told him there was no need for the attitude. I asked who he was. He yelled "I am the F'ing owner of this company!" He answered the phone, he did not say anything about business hours and yet he blamed me for calling at 9 p.m. That is called gaslighting and the power play he made about calling himself the ogre, I mean owner, screams narcissist. Our move was a simple 2.3 mile move from point A to B in College Station which took 3 trucks and a total of 10 hours because they did not have enough trucks and employees. Many of our items were damaged and or lost and to this day we are still wondering where certain items are, however I have my suspicions and I see I'm not the only one based on other negative reviews. Additionally, due to the items damaged and lost, I placed a claim and received a measly payback based on the .60/lb rule which is a larger issue with the state of Texas. I agree 100% with other reviews here regarding missing items, damaged items and the unprofessionalism with Mike and the lagging responses if any, to my questions and concerns that I had via my phone calls and text message to him. If you are even thinking of moving locally and god forbid hours away DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!
