Always do a great job. Have had them do haul away, leveling landscaping, and concrete. I would call them 1st to get your work done.

This guy drives like an idiot. We just witnessed him speeding through yelm. Probably going 50mph in 25mph zone.

Caught in the act stripping 27 cedar trees on private property. Killed all trees. Over 60000 in damages. Will prosecute.

Maybe he looked up the home value and decided we can afford twice as much? Who knows. Long version We usually do our own projects, but I thought I'd save my summer weekends and contribute to the local economy. I am semi-retired. I told him that we could source all the materials and have them delivered, so we were asking for expertise, equipment, and labor. His first bid seemed a bit high, but the second one (the one he called a contract) was absurd. He also wanted 70% upfront--in the past we've had contractors ask for only 30%, or 50% for jobs with high materials costs. His initial bid was $13K. The second written bid, called his contract, was for $26K. It didn't look like a contract, more like an unclearly written invoice. I assume he included all the materials--though that was not clear. I really had no confidence at that point. If he bought the materials, the first bid seemed in the ballpark--though more than I'd expected. I first thought he just didn't want the job. So I ignored it for a couple days. But, he seemed very eager to get me to commit (lots of texts and phone messages, before I told him "no"). The work spec'd was: 1. Weed garden borders around edges of a lawn (the lawn is about 15 X 75, with the beds around the edges); top with compost. 2. Spread gravel on parking area of about 40x50. It already is well-graveled, just needs a top off, maybe 5 yards of gravel. 3. Add wood cross pieces to an existing fence that is wood posts with hog wire between. Across the top and across the bottom (two boards each span). Some digging along the base of the posts, where sediment has filled in. Approx 18 2x4s and 18 2x12s. 4. Build a 1-foot high (two concrete blocks high) wall, about 80 feet long and mostly straight, across a nearly flat yard. About 120 large concrete blocks. He has many satisfied reviews. So, he may do good work and normally bids competitively. But in this case, he seemed to be bidding as if he was re-landscaping from scratch or dealing with a steeply sloped yard, or something. I know it is hard work, and I am more than willing to pay well for that. But, in this case, I lost confidence during bidding so I have no idea how it would have turned out and cannot speak to that. And, if your house (don't all houses have high prices these days?) has a high price listed on zillow, be careful out there. It's the only explanation I can think of that makes sense.

Rolando gave us a fair estimate for work that we needed done for our 0.23-acre lawn which also included special cuts (see pictures) and a paver pathway that needed to be reset. Rolando showed up with a great team of workers on time and ready to work. They were professional, thorough and had the job completed in 2 days. I have included a picture of their work that was done with the first cut after thirty days installation. Thank you, Rolando, and your great team of workers, for such a great job.

I needed a curtain drain put in and the land graded because my first story would flood during heavy rain. The drain had to be dug by hand in clay soil (no heavy machinery) because the area that flooded was above my septic tank. They had a huge team out, on time, and on the days they said they'd be out. They were professional and communicative during the whole project. It's been a few years now with some very bad storms and that curtain drain has never missed a beat. It works hard year round and I have never had standing water in that area again. I would love to someday hire this company again.

Derek Randles, the owner/designer loves the outdoors and his custom designs bring Mother Nature to…read moreyour doorstep. The great Pacific NW type of Mother Nature that is. He is so passionate about his work and the end product is representative of that passion. Background - After growing very tired of an awful looking front yard at our previous home in Silverdale, we finally decided to hire a professional landscaper as my vision required equipment to handle the large granite boulders destined to be the focal point of the yard. After a short consultation Derek presented us with a wonderful design and we quickly gave him the green light. Within a week of starting work he was finished and boy did it pop! Compliments abounded from friends, neighbors, and relatives. We liked his work so much that two years or so later we hired him again, to do the back yard this time, complete with a water feature, large flagstone patio/walkways, and yes, more boulders! During the consultation and after learning I wanted a waterfall of sorts incorporated into the design to surprise my wife, he got absolutely giddy after seeing the perfect place. He walked up the short incline and pointing to the ground stated, "this is where the water will come out like a spring", then split into 2 separate and smaller falls/rapids wrapping around a small island of evergreen trees, and finally collecting in a large deep pool at the bottom where the recirculating pump would be located. He was so "stoked"! This project also turned out perfect and was so complimentary to the backyard. Photos of both yards are attached. So last year we decided to move to a new location where the front yard again needed some "TLC", i.e. new landscaping. I called Derek to see if he was interested and within a week or so he came for the consultation and then subsequent to that came out yet again to spend a few hours on site developing the landscape plan. Work on the 3rd project took 2 weeks to complete and a few photos are also attached. It is almost winter and so we will wait until he Spring to add plants, so it looks a little naked right now. It therefore goes without saying that Derek and his crew are top notch, professional, and most importantly, can be trusted as other Yelp reviews have stated. Regarding the work itself, the crew are very careful to position important landscape elements for maximum impact and are always interested in home owner input. If you don't care for the way something is looking, they will work with you to correct the problem. They are always careful to cleanup once everything was done and I cannot emphasize too much how much we again enjoyed working with Derek and his crew. Otherwise, why would we have used Randles Landscape & Design on 3 major projects?
