Our condominium hired Skyway in an effort to save money, and the results reflected it. The problems…read morebegan immediately: the crew arrived arguing loudly enough for the entire building to hear. The quality of the work itself was equally disappointing. Windows were left with visible smears and streaking, particularly around the edges, while handprints and residue were left on the building's exterior metal panels without being cleaned. The crew also ignored management's instructions regarding which private terraces they were permitted to access. More seriously, several coping caps around the property were dented during the job, and part of a brise-soleil was damaged after workers attempted to suspend ropes from it. The company later sent someone to make repairs, but the workmanship was poor. Some of the original boards were simply wedged back into place and fell out again within two days. Replacing seven small boards took nearly a week, and the replacement wood did not match the existing material or finish. Overall, the experience suggested a company cutting corners at nearly every stage, from workmanship to supervision to repairs. There are many far more reputable and professional window-washing companies in New York City.

I need to do some work on my apartment that I own. My building has strict regulations and criteria…read morefor any type of construction. I asked them for a recommendation thinking that would be the best way to go. When I got the rec, I called and spoke to a woman who had me run through what I wanted to have done. She said someone would be in touch with me either that day or the next. Two weeks later still no follow up. So I call back and she seems surprised and says she will follow up with me. She calls me back to tell me the person assigned to my estimate had called me multiple times but that the number wasn't working. Made no sense. It was my cell phone and she was calling me to tell me this, on that very same number! But I gave them the benefit of the doubt. The estimator called me and we set up time for him to come evaluate the work that I needed done. I left work early to meet him. He seemed like a great guy and I was really pleased with our conversations around options for this work. He said he would be back to me by the following week with an estimate. 3 weeks later, NOTHING. So I call one more time and get a very rude and abrasive man on the phone. I could not remember the name of the person that came over. He kept pressing me shooting off all these possible names and physical descriptions. Finally I said, don't you have record of who came to my apartment? And he said yes he can look it up and will call me back. No call back. Shocker. It is unbelievable to me that I am chasing this company around so I can give them my business. They clearly do not want it and are clearly unreliable and dishonest. If the work was not something they were interested in they should have contacted me and said as much. If they needed more time to get me an estimate they should have contacted me to let me know as much, I have now wasted two months of time time waiting and chasing this ridiculous company around. Now I will find a contractor that actually wants my business and knows how to service a paying customer. If you are in the market for a contractor, stay away from Poler.
