He mentioned that the owner, Herman was out for the weekend but would be back on Monday. Herman contacted me on Monday after my car was towed to their shop to discuss the timeframe and details of the job. I was quite concerned and wanted to make certain the job was done right! Herman worked with my insurance company to make sure I received OEM parts for my car as he explained that the insurance company had only provided an estimate for aftermarket parts. Herman kept in close touch throughout the 3 week process of having my car repaired. I was also very concerned about the vinyl hood covering and he made sure he took it to a shop that did the job correctly instead of trying to "fudge it" himself. My car was ready the week he promised however there was one small detail that Herman took care of immediately after I brought the car back for him to correct the issue. While I was there he custom painted some trim for me and applied it to my car. My experience with Herman and Archstone Auto Body Inc was outstanding and I feel all of the "details" were take care of. I Highly recommend and would go to this body shop again if necessary.

When I got my car back, I found several problems, including peeling paint, loose windows, and poorly installed doors that made rattling noises. I had to return my car multiple times because every time I picked it up, I found new issues. When I complained about the peeling paint, they gave me a small bottle of touch-up paint and told me to repaint it myself if it peeled again. I also discovered that my insurance company had paid to replace parts such as the front bumper and the door handle, but they were never replaced. The side mirror was simply glued back on. After I confronted them, they admitted the mistake, ordered the parts, and finally installed them, causing even more delays. This review is based on my personal experience. I cannot recommend this shop to anyone who expects quality repairs, professionalism, and attention to detail.

So I decided to fix the fender etc. Rolled into Malden and apparently they don't do hondas there, but he took a look at it and said to take it up to Stoneham. Super customer service from Jump. I went up to see Al in Stoneham and he gave me an estimate right on the spot. Again no insurance or anything out of pocket. No one wants to get body work done and it's expensive and takes time. Al told me to come in early the next week and that he'd also put in the headlight assemblies for me. 36 hours off the road and it was done, looked great, fairly priced as these things go and was never dicked around once. He charged me over $1000 for a brand new radiator, in November,…read morewhen the reality is all he did was patch the crack that he said was in it and still continued to charge me for a new one. He told me it was the starter so he replaced that. He was wrong!! So he said he would write off the starter instead of doing the labor to take it out and just replace the radiator with something "around the same price, maybe a little more." The kicker was when it started smoking to the point I called the fire department and they told me it looked like something melted and was burning (I presume the "patch" he thought would suffice) instead of, you know, just putting in the new radiator he charged me for like a MAYBE halfway decent mechanic. When my car started overheating again I locked my debit card because my car was never actually fixed the right way and who pays for something that isn't what they were told they were paying for?? I am a young mother and I am absolutely NEVER going to give money to a "mechanic" who has now made my vehicle and CHILD unsafe. Fast forward to today, my car is in a new TRUSTED mechanic shop and that is when I was told it was patched and nowhere near brand new (remember this was replaced in November) My boyfriend and I called him today two separate times and two separate times he couldn't even be bothered to listen. All he did was talk and yell over me like a child and then HUNG UP like an even bigger baby. Apparently because of my mother's "past due balance" which in reality, he stopped taking money out of her account. She reached out multiple times and he never once got back in touch. These guys are unbelievable! I don't write a lot of reviews but felt I needed to give back because not only did they meet my expectations, they exceeded them! My past experiences with auto repair/service shops throughout my 56 years has been terrible. I expected the same; unkept promises, rip-offs, incompetence, lies, etc. However, that is NOT J&A Auto Body. Let me explain: I had a car accident in Georgia and the insurance company and their "preferred" repair shop in GA wanted my car to be a total loss. When I brought my car up here, repair shops took forever just to look at my car. Was it repairable, was it totaled? Who knew? So, I checked out Yelp and read the great reviews for J&A. I was skeptical and didn't really believe my luck would change but at this point what did I have to lose. Below is my summery: 1) They never over-promissed but they over-delivered 2) Eric felt like an older brother looking after my best interested with my very difficult insurance agency. I have no idea how much of his time he spent back and forth with them to ensure my insurance company stepped up so my car could be repaired in a timely manner. 3) Eric kept me posted every step of the way and was honest about where everything was in the process. 4) Eric was so incredible knowledgeable - seriously! Wow! 5) My car came out soooooo gorgeous! Everyone thinks it looks better than it did when I purchased it. No one would ever know it was in an accident. I will use them again and again whenever I need anything done. I only wish they worked on houses ;-) I keep telling everyone. My only fear is they'll be so busy they won't have time for me. They quoted me a price and described in detail exactly what they'd be doing. They take off all of the seals and stuff on the car so that the paint job will last, so it's a little more expensive than other places, but I decided to save up for this better quality work and just do it. I'm *so so so* happy!! My car looks better than the day I bought it on those panels. The paint color perfectly matches the rest of the car. They even detailed the inside for free and touched up other spots on the car. They were super nice and very responsive through the whole process. If you're thinking of going somewhere else to save some money, don't. These guys are awesome.
