Forget about the fact that it took around 2 months to get the part for my fridge and when it arrived it was wrong. The best part was speaking with Allison, who may be one of the rudest people I have ever delt with. First she tells me that the part was delivered to their Tempe location and it will not fit in the guys vehicle and she would have to bring it to my house, but she is not driving to San Tan Valley after 4pm. Then when I explained I was only available at 4pm or later or anytime during the weekends, she says, we do not schedule anything after 4pm and is silent. So my response was, "I guess we have to cancel this then" she said okay and hung up. it only takes one poor interaction to make a negative impact on a business. Wonder how many people I can tell not to use these people because of Allison. I see her name mentioned in other reviews too - so it's not just me. read more

Alison worked with our schedule, sending a tech on a day we needed him. The technician arrived on time and texted on the way with an ETA. He was SUPER efficient, helpful, patient, and kind! He took apart my oven and allowed me to wipe some areas down as he went (because when do u see the side and back of your stove?). He then put it all back together again in record time. My home warranty didn't cover a bulb replacement, but the tech took the glass cap off inside and showed me what bulb to buy. The tech was clean and fresh and smelled great! By the time he was done, he had tightened the oven door handle (with screws INSIDE a glass door), replaced the oven drawer screw, and checked the electric to the oven bulb (just in case). I can't say enough about A & D. I have had them out multiple times, but nowadays we need to share great info about great companies! I now have a dishwasher issue and I cancelled the other appliance company and asked for A & D! read more

I requested a service visit to see if I needed a repair on my washing machine or if the better option was to get a new one. Allison responded within one day of me leaving a message. We set up a time for a technician, Riley, to come to my home. He arrived on time, and it was nice to have the GPS map to know precisely when he'd be arriving. Riley was professional and friendly. He diagnosed the issue, and I decided to go with a new washer (since mine was older anyway). The service fee was reasonable. This company was chosen by my home warranty to replace a broken ice maker in my freezer. They have been to my residence 3 times resulting in 2 separate $69.00 service fees. The last repair was in July 2020. The ice maker was replaced. It has already broken in less than 90 days. I called A&D directly to ask if they would warranty to work. The woman I spoke with said most ice makers are warranted for one year but I would need to pay another service fee to my home warranty company. When I asked what the charge would be to just go directly through the repair company she states she didn't know and offered no help. I am going to have to go back through my home warranty and pay a third service fee. I will be requesting they do not send A&D appliance to my home again. Update: I have read the response and clarified with my warranty company that they only charged me one fee as the last time it failed it was within the 30 day window. That being said it does not change the fact that the ice machine has broken 3 times in 4 months. It also does not that I asked you what it would cost to get you to come out without my warranty company getting involved and you said you didn't know, and that I would need to go through my warranty company. I asked why you didn't warranty your work, and you said parts could be warranteed for up to a year, but until I pay the 69$ to my warranty company you wouldn't be sending a repairman. I will say that the guy who actually did the work was highly professional and polite. You however were incredibly rude and lack very basic customer service skills. read more

My HW company assigned A&D to come out and look at my dryer. The dryer no longer heats up. Riley was the technician that came to my home. Riley did not openly explain what the issue was with my dryer, I had to ask several questions to force him to engage and explain the issue. I was told a part needed to be ordered and it would arrive by Friday, he came on a Wednesday. Friday came and went, there was no follow up from A&D whatsoever. I called and left an after hours voicemail requesting a status call back. I received a call from Allison on Monday afternoon. Allison was very curt and short on the phone, her explanation. "I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU WERE TOLD BUT THE PART ISN'T HERE. IT TAKES UP TO 5 DAYS!" I started to explain the expectation Riley set and Allison rudely interrupted me, repeating herself. Needless to say, I will be calling my HW Company to complain and request another vendor! Update to owners response: My issue is not that the part takes 3 to 5 days to arrive. My issue is that the tech said the part would arrive by Friday, he set an expectation that was false. And, there was no follow up or communication from the company until I reached out. As previously stated, the technician did not explain the issue with the dryer, I had to ask several questions in order to get him to give me an explanation. Lastly, as previously stated, Allison was very impudent when she called this afternoon. I appreciate the owners response, however, I have already contacted my warranty company and requested another vendor. Good Day. read more

Can't say enough good things about A&D appliance in Mesa and especially Riley the technician who helped us. We had an ongoing issue with our dishwasher which never really got hot and never cleaned all the dishes no matter what we tried. I was literally researching new dishwashers but we thought we give A&D a shot. After listening to our situation and looking around Riley came to the simple conclusion that it was just a matter of the hose from the garbage disposal hanging down instead of up like it should, so with the help of a couple of zip ties, voila, an almost new, steamy clean dishwasher! All for a $65 service charge where he could have easily fumbled around saying this and that and charged us hundreds and we would have been happy because it was fixed. So nice to know there is still a little honesty and customer service around in this day and age. Thanks again! read more

A&D came out in response to a home warranty request for an ice maker that was not working. The tech replaced the ice maker and it began making ice; however, the ice would not dispense through the door. Until the ice maker was working, I could not determine that this was an issue. I had to arrange another service call, and he came back and repaired the dispenser. I feel like it would have been appropriate and thorough for him to check this issue on the first visit. Six weeks later, the ice maker has now stopped making ice. Instead of calling my home warranty company, I called A&D directly and asked them to remedy the issue. They told me to call the home warranty company, who they claim only guarantees the work for 30 days (I have not confirmed this fact yet). I explained that I do not feel I should have to pay another service fee when there clearly is something wrong with a repair that only lasts six weeks (the original ice maker lasted 10+ years). The individual I spoke with was incredibly unhelpful. She made excuses for why the repair took two visits in the first place, suggested there might be something wrong with the manufacturer's part, etc. but seemed to feel no obligation to stand behind their work. When I speak with the home warranty company, I will ask them to send a different contractor because I have no confidence in A&D's work. I always try to give a company a chance to remedy a problem before posting a negative review, but I gave A&D a full opportunity to fix this issue and they had no interest in doing so or concern for their apparently poor work. read more

A CRIMINAL RIPOFF! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! Do not use this company for any reason. We just had a brand new stove/oven delivered, and we broke the glass top. (DOH!) We called Maytag, who referred us to this company. The company told us it would be a flat fee of $50 and then the part fee for them to come out and fix it. We gave them the model # and serial #, and they were supposed to bring the part with them and install it. Instead, he came out told us it was broken, and gave us a bid. 1st, we knew it was broken. He didn't come with the part. The 'service' fee to tell us it was broken was $70. 2nd, the quote for the part was $542. Online, with expedited shipping, it is $182. 3rd, we would have to pay an additional labor fee of $155. What would have been $232 suddenly became $762. As it were, all we have to do to fix it on our own is remove the top two screws, slide the top off, put the connections in place for the new top, slide it back, and put the two screws in. MAYBE 30 minutes of work. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. I had a defective dishwasher and they had to come out 5 times over 8 weeks to finally get it right. Dealing with this company has been like a migraine headache that hasn't gone away for a years. First, the lady receptionist is absolutely awful. She's has a bad attitude and is extremely rude on the phone. She told me on several occasions that she would call me back later in the day but never did. Then she blamed her tech for not calling me back or she blamed my home warranty company for not calling me back when she said she personally would. They took zero ownership and made it seem like I was being difficult. The tech was really nice and tried to help but I don't think he knew what he was talking about. The things he did didn't help. I kept calling them to try to reschedule them to come back out and it became a pain for them. They didn't care about me as their customer. I would highly recommend going with a different company, these guys are not customer focused. read more

I called my home warranty company about my gas range not working. I called the office and they were able to fit me in on a day to fit my schedule. I was given a window for my appointment time. I asked if they could do 10am and the appointment ended up being right on time. Dave, my technician showed up right at 10am. He was very thorough and looked over my range for the model number. Several areas of the range were inspected and taken apart to check the wiring and igniters. The inspection was very thorough. It appeared that the range would need a new igniter. Once all of the parts had been put back together and carefully adjusted, the range was working again. I am glad to have a now working range. Dave did a great job on my service call. He even said to call again if there were any future problems with the same burner and they would come out again if needed. So far, no problems. Thanks again. read more

We had our home warranty company schedule a repair for a leaking washer with another company and they were not coming for 2 days. I asked if another could come sooner since we were leaving for vacation in 2 days. They sent Mark with A & D Appliance Services the next day. After he came, diagnosed the source of the leak, he needed to go to get a part and he would return the next day. I explained we'd be gone so we'd have to wait til our return. Mark left for his other afternoon calls, had time to get our drain hose, install it and get our washer repaired by 4 pm that same day! We are so glad we found A & D Appliance Repair. My elderly mom's fridge died slowly, and we were forced to keep trying to keep it cold while contacting the manufacturer to get it serviced under the warranty. After having one technician come twice, charge us an arm and a leg, and STILL not repair the problem, we found A & D. Mark came the same day, diagnosed the problem, and Allison ordered the parts. Allison was prompt and persistent in following up with us and with the manufacturer. Once parts arrived, Mark returned to complete the repair. Unfortunately, the unit was not able to be repaired, so Mark did not charge for that return visit. Wow! How often does THAT happen, that a company declines to charge for a service call? A & D demonstrated the utmost professionalism, personal service, follow-through, and ethical business practices. They ended up repairing our side-by-side refrigerator after another company botched a freezer repair and caused our refrigerator to fail as well. My side by side refrigerator/freezer went out and I woke up to a mess. All groceries went bad and everything in the freezer was thawed and dripping. I contacted my home warranty company and they set me up with a place that wouldn't come out for two days. Called warranty company back to tell them I couldn't wait and they hooked me up with A&D Appliance Services. I had a call from their technician Mark immediately and he was at my house to work on it within an hour. Not only was the customer service at A&D impeccable, Mark listened and was patient as I attempted to explain what I experienced with it. He was thorough in checking everything on the unit to ensure he found the problems. He replaced some parts, took a few extra steps he didn't have too (like clean the coils underneath), provided a thorough explanation of what the issues were and went on his way. My fridge was leaking water and the home warranty company set up an appointment with A&D. They called before arriving, showed up on time, and fixed the problem. I asked a question about my dishwasher that happened to be intermittently turning off mid-cycle, and the tech took a quick look and fixed that problem as well (no charge). After having to come twice to fix my refrigerator for a loud noise (they broke the fan trying to fix the noise), I was told the repairs were under warrantee; the refrigerator was relatively new. A month later I received a threatening letter, demanding immediate payment of $876.01 or they will pursue legal action. When I called, I was told that it was a "typo" and I only owed $257.70. We noticed our refrigerator/freezer in the garage was getting warm. It was August! Brutally hot and we contacted our home warranty company, but heat was already ruining things in the refrig. We threw out all of the food in there but hoped that by the time the repair serviceman came, if we didn't open the door, we could salvage all or some of the frozen food. We were so blessed to have Dave of A & D to come to the rescue! Not only did he diagnose the problem quickly, but was kind enough to pack all the food from the freezer into every cooler, box or bag that I could find to move them into the house, hopefully to save at least some frozen food. He told me it was the defrosting coil in the freezer which was iced over. Dave knew I was not well and he told me to go in the cool house and he would defrost the unit. He also noticed a freezer shelf that was missing a pin so it was lopsided. He fixed that as well so I now had a shelf that had been broken for years! Dave was so nice and easy going, he was a pleasure to have in my home. He was also very kind in his manner of explaining to this layman, in terms I could understand, what had happened. By the time he left, not only was the problem fixed in about 40 minutes in a unit that was 30 years old, but I felt like I understood my refrigerator/freezer completely with his patient explanation. What a guy!! His wife Allison who handles setting up appointments is a gem as well. We wouldn't hesitate to call them again for our appliance service needs. Thanks to both Allison and Dave.
