No more leaks and overpriced plastic parts that can only be replaced by the Kinetico dealer. I went with a 3M whole house water filter recommended by Ben, with all new copper plumbing and a new pressure regulator. I can change the water filter myself, which is recommended to do least once a year. I am confident of the new system and no longer worried about another Kinetico part failure. The 3M water filter recommended by Ben at Patriot Plumbing lead to immediate improvement in our water quality. No more chlorine taste or smell. This system uses a carbon block filter that works better for us than the water softener. I will use Patriot Plumbing again if and when needed.

I had a relay in my heating unit go out a week ago, was able to get alpine in on Thursday. Tech was…read morean hour and a half after their estimated time window, whatever it happens. So I show the tech what I believe to be the problem (dead relay causing heating element to not turn off). Alpine Aire serviced this unit in 2021 for the same issue different relay). Okay, easy enough replace the relay and clean up the wiring that melted (the tech missed this by the way). Friday comes, no call or email about the part being available or not. Monday comes, 10am I give a call cause we've been without heat since last Tuesday and there's a holiday coming this week. I'm told "they're working on a quote for you, you'll have it today". 2pm comes and I give them a call again and explain my situation and I really just need to know if they can order the part or not. At this point the part might arrive in a day or two but then I would have to wait until Monday due to the holiday to even schedule install. That's 11 days from when the tech inspected my heater. But thankfully for all involved Alpine Aire called back at around 3 pm and told me they couldn't get the part as it's too old and they recommend a complete new unit. Funny cause when I look at the relay they replaced in 2021, they replaced it with a relay unit that is 100% still available. We've used Alpine a number of times over the years but will not be using them again. Every step of the process was unprofessional and sloppy.
