I came with a bridesmaid dress that I needed hemmed. They asked me to try it on, took 3 mins to clip up the dress and then the seamstress walked away without giving me a pricing quote. To my surprise, after getting a text on the price, they charged me $60 more than a friend getting the same dress hemmed at another alteration shop here in Tyler. The work here is good, but be prepared to be overcharged. When I questioned the pricing, they said "it is good work, and that is the price." I will not use them again. read more

I called prior to bringing my items in for alteration. One dress needed hemming and another item needed the split to be sewn up a few inches . The ladies laughed when I asked for a time frame to complete the items--- I thought that was strange versus just saying if they could complete it or not . When I brought in the items I brought two more items to leave with them to complete whenever they had time . They were visibly bothered that I brought more items even though it was for a different day. Long story short I asked for pricing of the two items and they gave me the price but the next day when I came for pick up they charged much more. I took some clothing items Monday and asked for them to be ready by the next which gave them 10 I needed them by Wednesday no options they said they would have them ready to pick them up this morning, as promised they had not even started on my clothing items would not suggest to take any items. If you're in any type of a time crunch, I will not be back. read more

Oh well here is another discrimination act against African American. My husband took a pair of pants to be hemmed to A& B Alterations.Tyler, TX . She told my husband she will charge him a $30.00 rush fee plus the fee to hem the pants. He took them in on Monday wanted them back on Friday or Saturday. Well this Caucasian lady walked in right before my husband and she heard everything this lady said to my husband. She waited on my husband outside and told him she didn't say anything like that to me -what she just said to you and I'm getting my garment back on Friday. Customers beware this establishment is prejudice to the highest power now let me take this to social media. I give this establishment ZERO stars but Yelp won't let me submit with Zero stars so I had to put 1 star unfortunately. read more

Very reliable, professional outfit. Prices are moderate. I was pleased with having slacks shortened and a cloth purse repaired.

We were charged $325 for alterations to the waist and bodice of an evening gown. Store was closed on the day we were scheduled to pick it up. When we did pick it up, the dress was brought out turned inside out and crumpled in the bottom of the garment bag. Beltloops at the waist had not been re-attached. Discussed the lack of customer service and high price with the business owner. There was no apology or responsibility taken for any of this. This business has no working phone and no way to contact anyone. No receipt is given. Very disappointed as we had been given good recommendations. This place does excellent work. I had a bridesmaid dress that was too big and it fits perfect after getting it altered. They also did the work very quickly within a couple of days. I did have to pay in cash but the the quality and speed made it absolutely worth it. Couldn't be happier with the result and will be coming back here for any future alterations I need! read more

I am only 5' and pants are never tailored to my size. So I have to get them tailored for me! After moving to Tyler, I couldn't find a place. I ordered some scrubs at CR Scrubs, and they told me about this place! I took three pairs of scrub pants that were marked with a safety pin where I needed the hem and for $10 a pair and after about a week and a half, they gave me a text saying they were done. Picked them up and paid cash (they only accept cash). Will definitely be using them in the future. read more

This alterations shop is terrific. They hemmed a pair of jeans perfectly so it looks like I bought them that way. They also mended a rip in my wife's pea coat. Clothes were ready to pick up in two days. $19. A very reasonable price. No hassle or attitude. Give this shop your business if you need clothes altered . read more

Great service and reasonable prices! We have gone to A & B Alterations for years for prom dresses to be hemmed. I agree - "no attitudes". In fact, one year when our girls were trying on their hemmed prom dresses and taking a photo, the lady helping us walked around the corner, smiled and said, "This is a great time for a photo op. As far as work goes, they do an amazing job! I had my wedding dress altered which had a ton of beading and also the bustle! My bustle was unique which I loved and it fit like a glove when I tried it on! Very friendly but they only take cash which was a pain for me at the time and it is a little pricy! Took my evening gown in to be hemmed up 1" and some add'l alterations and was never given a quote. They finished alterations within 7 days but was charged $215. Completely shocked at the high cost of this service. Be forewarned of the high prices.o read more

They hemmed three pairs of jeans. They did a fine job and had them ready a few days early. Finally, I got to wear them!
