I've always received excellent service from the owner who I haven't seen in awhile and hope still owns the franchise. Since it became Mobil the place has gotten an upgrade. Probably the cleanest gas station I've ever been too and can easily be accessed no matter what side of the street you are driving on. Just across the street is the Public Market, a great place to grab a bite to eat. I'm happy that this little section of Castro Valley if being frequented more often. Behind the gas station is a quaint park with picnic benches, baseball fields, tennis courts and a few play grounds for kids. Come get some gas, grab lunch, and enjoy all Castro Valley has to offer!

What I liked best about this station was the cute cat that would guard the door after hours. Kitty would sit in the middle of the doorway blocking the entrance and exit - that was ok since the minimart was closed anyway. I saw one guy attempt to open the clearly closed doors and the cat of course moved - but then seconds later came back and did a cute little loaf - back to business as usual. The only thing is that I bought 2 sodas and a bag of Snack Club Spicy Party Mix and for the 3 items it was almost $14 so a little bit of a sticker shock there. To my surprise, the attendant whose usually very nice would not refund me for the $6 chocolate . he stated it was like McDonalds burgers and not supposed to look like the picture with laughter.Didn't even offer an exchange.. i didnt even eat one bcuz they looked nasty. Very disappointing. Don't get snacks from here !!! They are old and may make you sick .
