The service this company gave was very, very good. It was three gentlemen who moved my mom, she has dementia, from her house to an assisted living facility all in the same day. Now granted she could only take a certain number of items and she went all of less than 15 miles from her home. The price for all of the things that we were charged to move her was excellent. The value of the price to move her on that day was well worth it. I highly recommend A Affordable Moving and Storage. I personally spoke with Brandon, the manager, and he took care of everything. My experience was Horrible. I paid for three guys to move my furniture. All my things were not able to fit on the truck because out of one of the guys own mouth the truck was loaded wrong. They forgot the screws to my furniture at my old home and my beds were put together with mismatched legs from two different beds. I reached out to the company and was told they would call me back and never received a call smh. I had to pay someone else to finish moving me and now my beds will have to be taken down and put back together. read more

I definitely would not recommend this company, the name affordable right off the bat is a lie. I had a 1 bedroom apt worth of stuff, bedroom set, dining room set and a futon and some chests for the living room, I had all the boxes packed and stacked so all they had to do was put the cart under it and go. Took 3 guys 3 hours to load the truck and they didn't even get everything. I could have loaded it myself in under 2. They took a lunch , which was still on the clock. So a 1 bedroom apt, 40minutes away cost $1450. If you are looking for a move at unaffordable prices I highly recommend this company but if you are looking for a good move at actually affordable prices I would suggest you look elsewhere. DO NOT RECOMMEND! I used this company back in march 2021. The actual moving process went smoothly BUT I definitely was taken advantage of. I was told on the phone when I booked that their rate was $120/hr. The movers worked approx 2 hours. I was charged over $500 for the service. They also lied about the traveling fee which was only suppose to be $35. Once they got there they also informed that they don't work no more than 2 hours. Based on what my husband told them (3 bedroom suits, living room, dining room, etc) they estimated one truck would get it... $120/hour. he hired them. they arrived and informed us the lady who quoted us $120/hour was no longer there and they could find NO evidence we had been quoted $120/hr. we had no choice but to go with them at $180/her. it took them two different trips and they STILL didn't get everything. my formal dining room suit was TRASHED, with gouges out of the wood. repeated calls to the company have never been answered or calls returned. I wish I had never heard of this company and wish I could give them a -10 rating. don't hire this company unless you want them to haul off your trash. read more

Moved over Christmas, had the truck packed on December, 23rd 2022, the 3 men (little boys more like it) argued like little school girls, didnt load the truck right AND used our tools and packing equipment because they came unprepared due to the "weather"....yah blame the weather on your incompetence. Then after the job was completed they call their boss Brandon for the completion process and lie about their arrival time right there in front of all 4 of us who checked the time when they arrived which was at 11:21am (they were late by 21mins) and told their boss they arrived at 11am...the sheer ignorance of these people is unfathomable. My daughter moved out of my home one of the movers let a mattress hit a wall sconce and it broke. The sconce screws were ripped from the wall, the metal sconce was bent and the bulb attachment was broken off. The office person, Lori had them take pictures and write up an incident report. It has now been a 1 1/2 months and they refuse to fix it. I was told they would possibly pay 60 cents for the damage. Let me start off by saying the 3 guys that came into our home to move us were awesome guys. We, however, paid for professional movers ( at a not so A-Affordable price of 180/hr) and it was anything but. My son and I had to end up kinda taking over to get it done, 9 hours later. My driveway, wood floors, steps and numerous pieces furniture were scratched/scuffed/ruined. Had to pack up 3 vehicles and a trailer full of stuff, because after two trips in the box truck, there was still that much left because the truck wasn't packed accordingly. During this time, the owner precedes to threaten my wife via text with a felony because he had not received payment (made him sweat a little, but really we were busy doing HIS job). I don't fault his guys, they tried hard. They have NOT been properly trained by someone that's supposedly been in the business for two decades. I really wish I had found this review page before we hired this company. I hope the guys get the training they deserve, and find a better company to work for, because this one gets an F from me, not an A. read more

DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. I encourage you if you are considering using this services to read the following: This is the worst experience with any business I have had in my entire 24 years of life. We scheduled two weeks in advance for an 8am move. The movers did not show up until 3:40pm. By the time the movers showed up we had moved everything three 24 year old females could move. We had to be out of the old apartment by 5:00pm. Though the workers were extremely friendly...one of the works disappeared for half an hour for a smoke break. The owner and his secretary, aka his wife, did not communicate with the movers what all the job allotted. A job that should've taken 2 hours was strung out to three. Ernest Hudson is an individual I hope I never have to deal with ever again in my life. He constantly lied to us about where the movers were. He even hung up on me after getting into an argument. Then once the movers gave us our bill they said it would be $460....our hourly rate was $120/hour they worked for 2.75 hours. Once I pointed out they did not perform the 4.75 of work they had marked on the receipt, the mover said, "I'm not going to lie we usually try to get extra money out of people....WHAT?? 7.5 hours late and then admitted they tried to scam us and previous clients? This company is a JOKE. The owner is extremely rude and unprofessional. We used this service as three 24 year old females and they completely took advantage of the situation at hand. A Affordable came to our rescue today!! We had schedule another moving company who decided on the day of to just not show up or take phone calls. So we started calling around town and A Affordable not only listen to our troubles but she worked with her guys to get them out to our place and help load our u-haul so that we can stay on track with our schedule! The men were great, fast and very professional. They truly saved us today and we are very thankful they were able to help out today! We had communicated with Ernest that we had to be out by 2:00 on Tuesday June 21, 2022. The packing was set for Monday, June 20 and went OK. Then Tuesday morning (at 9:00- YIKES!) a crew of two movers showed up to get our 2200 SF house loaded. The first two hours were good, but then the guys asked to take a quick lunch break. This idea of a "quick" break was a two hour break where they got high as a kite and reeked of weed. We told them when they got back that we close at 2:00 and we were irate that we couldn't get a broom clean done by 2:00 for the close. We got back on the phone to Ernest irate with the situation and he sent three more movers who STILL didn't get us out on time. The realtors got involved and thankfully we had a very patient and understanding buyer, so we signed an addendum to get out by 6:00. After we got back from closing, we noticed all kinds of our stuff AND their stuff. We got them to take a few remaining items to the truck using their personal vehicles, including a wedding present of ours, and we haven't seen hide or hair of it since. All in all, the experience was a nightmare, and this seems to be the recurring theme of these reviews. Find someone else if you can. This company was a BIG disappointment. read more

Not a recommended service at this point! We used them on 9-21-21 to Move our house. We packed and they moved the items. Overall the guys that showed up had really good attitudes and were easy to get along with. The guys hung with us through the job and we were grateful for that. Why I would not recommend: 1) Scheduled 5 guys and 2 trucks but they only sent 4 guys and 2 trucks which made for a long day. The guys said they weren't working the follow day so that gave us one day to move it all out with one person short. 2) The 4 guys didn't normally work together so they didn't work as efficiently as they could have. The guys took frequent breaks and they ran over a neighbors mail box which pulled them away from the work for a period of time dealing with that. 3) Several items got damaged during the move (ripped mattress, scratches on tables and chairs, damaged wall, damaged stair tread, missing hardware on a desk, broken box springs, broke wheel mount on rolling tool cradle. 4) No response on submitted claim form as of today! We purchased the extra insurance at the start of the move but have yet to get a response from AAffordable Moving and Storage! We are less than pleased with this moving company. AAffordable Moving and Storage is not one I would recommend based off of our experience so far. Hopefully, I will be able to post a followup on my experience soon! read more

UNPROFESSIONAL & DAMAGING Hired these people to move, yesterday, expensive Italian leather couches and various items. 2 items were inexcusably DAMAGED. After an extensive search earlier this week, A Affordable Movers were the only "professional" movers available before end of the month. First, they were to arrive Weds, then rescheduled with random excuses. The next morning, they were LATE. Specifically told, apt to storage. They went to storage first.. My beautiful couches, paid for with hard-earned $$$, are now irreversibly, thoughtlessly flawed and have become reduced in value; investment (BOUGHT LESS THAN 2 YEARS AGO FOR OVER $1,500). My elderly mother oversaw movers and said: couch was shoved through door which caused most damaged inflicted. (Metal door was so beaten up it could not close and I'm being charged by apt complex for that damage.) Rips and the red color of door was found after inspecting them when they left storage unit. My computer desk was completely broken off on one side. It was intact when they left my apartment complex but in pieces when it arrived at my storage unit. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN? (Beyond repair, ended up having to give desk to Goodwill.) During entire move, these movers cussed OUT LOUD, discussed openly that they should charge MORE! Spoke to person in charge, after having to calm down discovering these numerous damages. Received only EXCUSES. NO APOLOGIES OR SOLUTIONS! Supervisor/manager states that desk is partical board and they have a tendency to come apart. (yes if HANDLED INCORRECTLY!) and he would need to speak to the movers; AFTER he received multiple photos that he requested taken of damage and desk in PIECES. I had called back before end of business day because hours passed without any response. This man tells me to call back TUESDAY! That is ridiculous. This process was not worth the money spent and I hope no one else is subjected to this level of INCOMPETENCE. SMH read more

Worst service ever. Called asking to have a gun safe moved from garage into back storage room. They offered to pick safe up from store and bring to Home and place inside. Got safe from store to garage. Once they got to home a worker asked my son if he could use the restroom in the yard. Once safe was unloaded into garage They said they didn't have enough men to move into house and would be back tomorrow. Asked my 19 year old son for the money. He gave them the money trusting them to come back the next day. No such luck. Excuse after terrible excuse was given so I asked for some money back since job wasn't completed. I drove to business to get some money back but was told that if it didn't leave property the police would be called. So unprofessional especially to take advantage of a kid. I guess if ERNEST needed the money that bad then so be it. Would never recommend them to move anything. read more

The same house that took 5 volunteers with two pick up trucks took 4 hours. The same house took affordable moving 12 hours with three "Professional movers", three dollies, other moving equipment and a large moving truck. Every box that had 'FRAGEL KEEP ON TOP" was found crushed on the bottom. They seem to spend more time smoking and playing games on their phones at the consumers expanse than anything else. read more

Unfortunately the owner (I will forego a mention of his name in hopes of sparing him what little dignity he has left) is not concerned about the customer's property, his employees' safety or providing his employees with the proper equipment for the task at hand. I hired this company to move my deceased father's gun safe to my home. I specifically stated that a truck with a lift-gate would be needed due to the extreme weight of the safe. When the movers arrived, they had a standard truck with only a ramp. They proceeded to attempt to move the safe up the ramp using tie-down straps. Halfway up the ramp, the ramp tilted causing the safe to fall to the side, significantly damaging it as it fell. I told them to immediately stop and call their boss. Eventually he showed up and admitted that he "forgot" to tell them about needing a truck with a lift-gate. Somehow they managed to get the safe loaded onto the truck and left. After they left, I noticed that they had damaged the security door when the safe fell off the ramp: the key had broken off in the lock and the door was warped. I immediately called the owner and informed him of the situation. He assured me that he would send someone out to check on the door and repair it the next week. Once the safe was unloaded, I inspected the damage and called the owner again to provide him with the details of the damage. We agreed that he would discount the cost of the move by approximately $100 but would still have the security door repaired as well. He insisted that I immediately pay for the move of the gun safe, so I provided him with my credit card number. 4 days later I began a series of phone calls that lasted over 2 weeks, asking if the door had been repaired. The details of those calls are below: -Day 1, 4:04 p.m. spoke with the owner who said that he was working on it -Day 2, 11:06 a.m. spoke with the owner who said that he was working on it -Day 3, 8:28 a.m. left a message -Day 3, 4:56 p.m. no answer - no message left -Day 3, 5:01 p.m. called from a different phone number and he answered - he said that he was still working on it -Day 4, 3:17 p.m. spoke with the owner and told him that he had had ample time to get the door repaired and if it wasn't repaired within 3 days, I would take more aggressive measures - he said "do what you have to do then". It has been 6 weeks and the door still has not been repaired and it appears that the owner has no intention of properly addressing the situation. This is complete apathy and selfishness on the part of the owner and I can't understand how he is still in business. Unless you just enjoy throwing your hard-earned money in the trash, do not even consider using this company for your move. If the door is ever repaired, I will certainly remove this post......but I'm not holding my breath. read more

This place is absolutely HORRIBLE!!!! Do NOT use them!!! I hired them to help me move on a Saturday, at 2:00 p.m. The owner called me to tell me they got behind, and asked if they could move me on the next day at noon, and that he'd throw in an extra person for free. I was reluctant, but was nice about it and agreed. I called Sunday morning to confirm that they'd be there at noon. He said we were on schedule. They did not show till 3:00 p.m. When I called the owner to pay, I told him that I believe that he should give me a discount for the inconvenience. They owner then told me, "I gave you a break by giving you a third person for free. Try to give a person a break and this is how they repay you!". He proceeded to blame customers for his incompetence and lack of time management. Do NOT choose these people. They are rude, unreliable, and incompetent. read more

I used these movers to move from jackson to memphis ....it was horrible!!! The called to verify the times that the movers would show up the day before. Naturally they were late, and no one called me I ended up calling the office to question where they were. The guys that came to move me where very nice and careful with my things. The truck got loaded up and off to memphis I went. Only me the truck never got on the highway. The said something was wrong with it and headed back to the warehouse. Naturally I got all the way to memphis and when they never showed I called them again. To find out the truck was broken. They did not give me any options of what to do besides wait for a mechanic bc they didn't have another truck. I drove back to there warehouse and the mechanic still had not shown up (this is after the hour drive back) and by the way .... they had other trucks i saw them. Turns out after talking with the office my options where to contact another moving company or wait. Talk about being held hostage! read more
