Professional, legal, and organize try it I had an out of date propane tank. They took it in trade and gave me a good price.

In my area, AAA Propane is the lowest price. They've been really good about monitoring and keeping our tank at the right level. Things got a little messed up during the fire, when our street was closed due to the evacuation. Our regular Friday delivery was understandably missed. I forgot about it and it looks like in all the confusion of the fires AAA didn't reschedule. Finally last Monday our water heater seemed to be lagging behind. I went out to check the tank and it was reading less than 5%! I called AAA and told them I was out of propane and asked if they could get some out to me. The guy said he didn't have anyone in the area but he assured me that they would be out that afternoon. That was at about 11am, but sure enough, two hours later one of their trucks showed up and saved the day. To me, that's great service. Sure, events occur and the ball can get dropped, but coming through and making things right is what counts. read more

Company puts your account on auto replenish without consent and expects you to pay when they messed up. No resolution only 2 choices we can turn you off or you can pay. Been here just over a year and never had it on and they decided to start the auto replenish after i had a large fill up quoting that we needed more. Run away from this company! I can't imagine being beholden to them in a time of need. I called last week to inquire about setting up service. I was told someone would come out to check my tank. I received a call from a technician that wanted to come by and check the line. We scheduled for the following day. When I texted him to let him know I was at the property, he texted me back he wouldn't be able to make it as he was busy at another job. I then asked, if it was typical to take two weeks to get someone to test line? He then texted me back to find a different provider. I called and spoke to Dave at the office and he told me the same. They're not interested in providing service especially if you own your tank. I'm very thankful I avoided this company before I needed to rely on them. Look elsewhere! Don't be beholden to this company ESPECIALLY if you're leasing their tank! I can't imagine how one would be treated if in more of a binding contract. read more

I've been a customer for fourteen years and have had nothing but problems with this company. They used to send a driver that would smoke during the delivery making the landlord upset. I've been left out of propane for days and on a temporary tank for a rv because they didn't want to come out! They said if I paid an extra fee they would deliver to me or fill the tank 100% which would cost over $1000..! I'm a renter not a owner I have a nine to five job and can't afford a full tank! I had an issue with my motorhome propane tank which I thought I needed fixed. I call AAA and they told me to bring in my RV and they would replace a valve. I took it in and the owner came out to look at it. I told him my issue and we talked for 10 minutes about a resolution to my problem. He mentioned that if it was his RV, he wouldn't change out the valve and that the propane tank was functioning as it should. He was knowledgable and friendly. Thanks for the help! read more

Addendum to previous review. Brought my RV in to AAA. Sent by my dealer as dealer could not fix inaccurate gauge. AAA replaced the gauge face but the reading was still inaccurate as it only read 50% when filled to max. Gauge face proved very challenging to find. When I asked AAA to find the problem the owner went on a rant and complained about me calling too many times (I called once a week for the three weeks it took to get a gauge face and also called twice to get the part numbers so I could try to find the part) for a total of 5 calls over 3 weeks. He shouted at me that I had called 20 times and then called my $200K motor home cheap and that he wouldn't work on it. He was obviously incapable of solving the problem. I found another service, Delta Liquid Energy in Santa Paula who were able to take out the float mechanism which was broken and turned out to be the actual problem. AAA was incapable of diagnosing or fixing the problem. Worst customer service ever and not capable of doing anything but filling tanks. Owner ranted and shouted at me and then attempted to charge me $300 for labor for changing face plate of gauge, which consisted of 2 screws and 2 wires which took about 5 minutes, I watched them do it. Owner lied about me and my rig and is not to be trusted. Run away, do not patronize this business. read more

No I'm not a cry baby as one reviewer suggested. But I have no other recourse with this guy the owner After reading the reviews I see I'm not alone in his verbal abusive behavior. My first experience with them was good so I went back. The second was a completely different story. My RV had a regulator leak, $99 to fix it. No problem. I sold that RV then had the exact same Problem on an exact model RV I purchased. it also needed a new regulator. He charged me almost twice as much As just 2 weeks earlier! he gave me a Lousy excuse and I of course complained,. Wouldn't you. You should. I smelled propane leaking later that same day and called. The repair guy told me its 99% not leaking just residual smell from the repair job. Well I live in this RV and couldn't even keep the window crack at night it was leaking so bad. Went back, they confirmed and tightened the connection. One by one my lp appliances started to fail intermittently. After three weeks all lp systems failed. I called to notify them and was met with rudeness, yelling and complete unprofessional attitude. He wanted to charge me again to look at it. This owner is a real sob.!!!! Perhaps they're better with residential work but RV people should avoid at all costs. They don't guarantee their work and the owner, not the workers, is extremely A rude Individual. My first time at AAA Propane. I had never been to a drive-thru service station for propane refills. The guys filling up my propane tank was super friendly and courteous. When I asked how it worked, he said, they fill then tank(s) and if I had cash, I pay him but if with a card I circle back around to the office and pay there. It's exactly what I did and I was out of there in 20 min and that was with a truck and a lunch truck in line in front of my car. I think I paid $2.89/per gallon. Only paid $22 for the fill up. Super easy and cheap. They've got me as a regular customer now. read more

Disclosure: This may not be a fair or objective review. Traveling through and four this place to refill my 8 gallon propane tanks. Their price seemed fair: $2.80 a gallon. Location was okay to get to. The reason for this review not being fair is they are primarily a service oriented company; they supply homes and exchange kiosks with tanks and refills. When I showed up the place looked like a JUNK YARD!! Really?! Old trucks, motor homes, jet skis, and an old LIMO??? Working in cars in the front? Wow! Maybe I am missing something, but it seems like they are doing more than propane. . I drove away thinking, "If I bought that place..." And all the things I would throw away or get rid of within the first month. That being said, their service was prompt and friendly -Thank you Raul! We scheduled AAA to fill our propane tank on 27 December (for 29 December delivery). It is now the Friday before New Year's and discovered they did not make the delivery. I called AAA and John, whom answered, said they decided not to deliver because they were too busy. He then bizarrely accused me of working with other propane suppliers in the past (we have been loyal to AAA since 2012 and wrote their 1st review then, 5 stars). I just deleted that review. When I asked why no one called to let me know that my delivery would be delayed by a few weeks, he told me they were busy. Not sure what to make of this other than they certainly not a reliable supplier. And we are now out of propane. read more

Went to our usual place (uhaul) to get our propane tank filled. Upon arriving I was told our tank which was from our new boat had expired, I asked if the guy knew where I could get the tank re-certified and he suggested I google it, so I did. The first place had a recording saying I had a wait time of 3-6 minutes before I could speak to someone, after 12 minutes I hung up and called the next number which was AAA, Lauren answered the phone right away. Upon asking if they did recertifications she said she would call me back since the yard guys were out to lunch. Fifteen minutes later Lauren called me back with an answer of yes indeed they do recertifications. I drove over there to AAA and was immediately met by Ryan who couldn't have been nicer. He took the tank and said it would be ready to pick up the next morning and ready it was with a new valve and filled for me. The price blew us away because it was so low!! I highly recommend this place and from here on forward will drive the extra 10 minutes to get our tanks filled here. Outstanding customer service from both Lauren and Ryan! read more

I'm sad I have to write this review and go against the obvious good reviews they've had on here, but my experience with them was awful. And perhaps if everything went smoothly in our conversations I would have felt differently. Here is the story: I called them because we recently bought a home that uses them as a propane provider and they came recommended. I asked about starting services with them and wanted to find out more details and I also wanted to figure out how much was left in the tank so I could pay back the previous owners whatever was left. I asked about the different types of delivery options and the cost. By the end of the conversation, I had said that I would get back to them if I wanted to start the service. Fast forward 2 days: I call AAA Propane to see if they would be willing to send someone to see first how much was left in the tank. They said, "Sure no problem, we'll have someone go out there tomorrow. Please call us back around 4 pm tomorrow to find out what it was." So far so good with them... my thinking is, "wow they have really great people working here that deal with things quickly." Come to find out this is true if you don't have issues/disagreements with them. Fast forward another 2 days: I call them to find out if they had a chance to look at the tank to see how much is left in there yesterday. The man that answers, says "We don't go out on Thursdays there (the day they said they would come out)." He goes on to tell me, "we have someone headed out there today to top your tank off." This is where I was completely confused and disagreed. He says that I told them that I wanted to start service with them, which I didn't. I did not yell or curse at this man. But because I disagreed with him he yells at me, "I'm not going to f-ing argue with you, I don't have time for this s**t. What do you want done?" I told him to not fill up the tank. He then hangs up on me. I try to call him back to get his name. I figured they have a disgruntled employee and I wanted to speak to his supervisor. Low and behold, I was actually talking to the OWNER of this company who hung up on me again. Later on in the day, I get a call from another person that says they came and topped it off (even after I said I didn't want them to do that). He proceeds to tell me how I am wrong about saying that I did want their service and that "You're not being man enough to accept responsibility." Really? You're really trying to win my business over clearly. And because I disagree with you, you resort to name calling? Talk about being short-sighted. I mean I am about to pay you for your service and you think it is a good idea to belittle the customer? He kept interrupting me while I was trying to explain that I will pay them for the top off even though I never agreed to it. All I asked was that they give me the invoice and details of the fill-up. He basically tells me he's insulted that I would think they would cheat me on this. Really??? I'm disagreeing about what turned into a verbal contract for service and you don't think I'd be a little skeptical of the work you did? And guess what? I found the invoice and I paid it off immediately. There are many things wrong here: 1) From a pure business standpoint, the fact that they didn't have me fill out ONE form agreeing to their services and just have notes on a piece of paper saying I said I wanted service is completely ridiculous. How would anyone agree to a service just through what they thought someone said? This is a completely shady way of doing business and dumb on their part. 2) The fact that I disagreed with them and that they think they heard me say something else is really not the issue here. The fact that they work off of a verbal agreement along with the poorest of poor customer service is just ridiculous. I didn't say anything that warranted getting cursed, yelled, and hung up on by the owner. The worst part was that I was seriously going to use them going forward because I thought they had fair prices (though I did find cheaper than them) and good customer service. But if you have any discrepancies with them, the customer is never right apparently, and more importantly, it's okay to curse, yell, continually interrupt, and hang up on your customers. I will not be recommending anyone to this company. They need to change how they do business and treat their customers with respect before I would ever recommend them. read more

Still sending me bills even though my tank has been empty for years and not even connected to anything.

I I like them. They filled up four 5 gallon tanks for $41. Sure beats The price of blue rhino at the local gas station. They're located in an industrial area of Oxnard. It's a nice clean yard. If you purchase 10 gallons of propane you may use the RV dump for free. I also had them add a hose to my RV trailer so I could cook propane a little farther away from the trailer outside. They had everything I needed fittings and hose. They installed it promptly. read more

What do you really want from a propane company? How about the least expensive propane delivered regularly stored in a manner that doesn't blow up your house. Check. I live in the hills in Malibu and everyone is on propane. I think I was the first to switch to AAA simply because they are the least expensive, BY FAR. They were at least 35% less than Suburban or Amerigas. How is that possible you ask since propane is a commodity? Simple, good old fashioned collusion by the big suppliers. If you try to leave them they ask what you will be paying at your new company and then try to match it for 90 days or so when they should have been charging you the competitive price all along. Can't go wrong with these guys. Go with the others if you have a desire to pay a premium for the same product. read more

Bought our house in topanga in August. The previous owner had service from a large company. When I called to switch the service they tried to nickel and dime me with all sorts of bogus charges. Dave from AAA just happened to put in leaflet in my mailbox. Not only was the price per gallon much cheaper, their fees were much more reasonable. Today a had a problem with my tankless water heater. I called Dave for some advice and he actually came by the house and checked everything out for me and installed a new part just in case that was the problem. I'm a customer for life! read more

Yesterday (1/4/19) I took my 40ft bus conversion there to get the chassis propane tank filled and also 2-5gal BBQ tank. I drove in the yard-it was organized, not a bunch of junk around. Granted they had their trucks and various propane tanks around with a couple of projects, but was plenty of room for me to drive around their big supply tanks in the middle of the yard to access the fill point for my motorhome. They couldn't get one of the tanks bleed valve open, so I will just have to exchange it with Blue. Current costs about $20 to fill 5gal. Excellent service, and really the only propane fill available in the Oxnard area. Great Guys! read more

After twenty-seven years with Amerigas, I finally switched over to AAA Propane, a family owned business that really cares about its customers. The reviews that say they are rude has been the opposite in all my experiences with AAA Propane. They were courteous, professional, and delivered the propane when they said they would. In addition, I have now seen a significant savings in my propane bill. The straw that broke the camel's back in my dealings with Amerigas was their exorbitant tank rental fee, not to mention that they let my propane tank run dry twice this past winter. Ignore the negative reviews, probably posted by the competition or someone who didn't pay their bill, and make the switch! I'm glad i did. read more

I can't say enough good things about AAA. We had service with Delta when we moved into our home in Topanga, CA, and we were paying so much for propane, running out, and could never get anyone to come fill our tank. I did some research, and when I called AAA, I got Dave on the phone on the first ring. He was super nice, and AAA's rates turned out to be significantly lower than Delta's, so we switched right over. We've had a great experience with them ever since. Both Dave and Jim, who delivers the propane, are super nice guys with great personalities, and at one point when we were afraid of a scary propane leak, Dave even gave us his personal cell number.
