Mom's truck. Okay, it was my parents truck but we all know who drove it. Probably saved my kids life on Halloween at 2am when a drunk driver ran the red at Laguna and Bruceville and t-boned him. Thanks to A1 towing for letting us in late Friday night and again early Monday morning to get sentimental and needed items out. I was emotional letting this truck go after my Dad's death in July. Austin was helpful over the phone in expediting the paperwork so I only had to go to one yard. T let us in on Friday, he knew exactly what to look for in the complicated paperwork. Because I was a little emotional Friday I forgot the garage door opener. It's such a pain to replace those so I called in first thing on Monday. Melvin was kind enough to run over to the overflow yard to let me in a second time to access the truck where I had another good cry. Give the hard-working folks in the tow business a break. They work in a customer intensive and very necessary industry, cut them a break next time you see one trying to pull out into traffic, give them extra space on a road side, or take a breath when you have to pay to get your car out of impound. A1 towing is a bunch of rip off artist. They take advantage of victims and victimize them by holding their property at high interest rates which they accumulate and then on top of that their service fee for a tow is outrageous. They charged My Daughter $900 for a tow because they said it took an hour funny thing is at the crashsite. It took them less than 30 minutes. So they're allowed to inflate their cost and rob people. This isn't the happiest of stories but it's one I'll always be grateful for and remember. Unfortunately my father passed away in a was a motor vehicle accident a few years ago. His vehicle and the several packed belongings in his truck bed that scattered across then scene were towed to the A1 yard. I was a little miffed on the phone by the customer service at one point but the second I walked in that door it immediately changed. The amount of care and though these men put into the situation while on scene is phenomenal. You could tell they spent time making sure to gather all they could and protecting his items from the elements. The amount of kindness, humanity, and empathy they have is something I would have never expected. Honestly, they were the easiest and kindest vendor/entity I had the pleasure of working with in that entire situation. I will never forget some of those key moments those men helped me with. i know it's a business but they did everything to take $408.00 from me that they knew wasn't warranted. i'm a 100% disabled veteran that has been granted disabled veterans plates and there is no yearly fee. a chp motorcycle cop pulls me over and didn't care whether i has exempt plates or not. he told me over and over that he was towing my car no matter how i explained the plates and process. i was hoping the tow truck driver would tell him "he has disabled veterans plates" didn't happen. they had my car for 3 hrs. and did all they could to get the money. at first it seemed the clerk at the a1 towing knew what was up and i thought he was going to just release my care after i got the release from th chp headquarters. but no! he got on the phone with someone in the company and i was told that 100% disabled veteran has to be on the print out i just got from the dmv! and they still couldn't release the car because even though the chp release the car to me. "to me!" i need a vehicle moving permit! so back to the dmv! she told me, i'll give you a permit, but the chp have already released the car to you! i also told her they're going to make me pay because 100% disabled veteran is not on the print out. she said, "we don't do that because the print out says annual exempt and amount paid, no fee! you can't even get those plates on your car unless you are a 100% disabled veteran!" so these people didn't even want to make sense and was going along with chp barney fife for the money! citizens arayest! citizens arayest! i served the country to protected those who don't even like me or give a damn! on a fixed income and they didn't give a dayum! i'm not the type but i'll tell everyone to avoid them because they'll do or ignore whatever it takes to get your money even if it's not warranted. read more

I didn't like the reason for using there's service. My car was hit and totaled by a unfocused driver. A1 towed my car from the accident. When I was ready the retrieve my personal items from my car, they were very nice and accommodating. The office staff was very pleasant (which is not always the case when dealing with tow company's) My car was stored at a different location. But the driver was very prompt in meeting me there as well as patient while I took pictures of my car for my insurance and retrieved my property. I had to go back a second time with my husband because I'd forgotten to get something. There were super nice and even seemed empathetic about my situation. Incredibly rude customer service. Had flat tires and requested a tow through MB Roadside Assistance, was given a tracker for A1 Towing, stating they'd arrive in 40 minutes. After 50 minutes, I called the contact number provided for an updated ETA, and was told "why does it matter?" "He's on his way" "no I can't give you an estimated time" "just wait". Incredibly unprofessional and frustrating. An ETA is standard practice, and an updated ETA is nothing out of line read more

From the very start A-1 towing has been just terrible to deal with in the recovery of my vehicle found after been reported stolen from in front of my home in Reno Nevada. After I was called by Chp officers that they found my 2016 Chrysler 200 (which was paid off from hard honest work) I was told they would be handing over my car to A-1 towing of Elk Grove California. I immediately phone the tow company and was rudely spoken to by the secretary. I was told that my total was already at $375.00 for the initial tow. That they closed in 2 hours and would remain closed for the weekend but charges would continue to increase. That I would have to pay in person, and that they wouldn't be any waivers being that I am the victim of a crime. I asked for a supervisor and was told that I was speaking to the supervisor so I asked for the owner who I found out was an older fellow named Mr Maguire. I was told he would be unavailable until the following week. I asked to leave a message for him and still I haven't heard from any of the owners/operators/sons of thia company regarding the theft if my vehicle niw by them A-1 Towing. I've called numerous times only to be sent in circles by the staff which consist of this woman with an apparent problem speaking to the public. This woman was more than rude she was pure hate. I couldn't get one thing accomplished dealing with her. She was extremely negative while speakinginh about how they would keep my car if I was unable to pay there fees. Long story short no company rep returned my calls and A-1 Towing locally owned put a lien on my car and that's that. No note of apology not and offer to returny articles left in the car nonething. How is it my car which was reported stolen Reno Police Department case # 23-10065, found by California Highway Patrol, towed by A-1 Towing/Stolen by the rates placed on car legal. This company is stealing from hardworking people. Taking full advantage of the predicament people are places in when towed by there company. I plan to take action as soon as I can . I'm sure I wasnt the first and I won't be the last person this company does this way. This place has towed 3 different cars, from three different people I know. Each time, items were missing out of the vehicles. Yes I can say they say they aren't responsible for missing items in their tow yards. But if a vehicle was towed illegally in the first place and the vehicle was locked up, also picked up from tow yard right away, why are the tools and welders and Equiptment all missing? I'll tell you why. They have some scum that scouts vehicles they think they can tow and look inside, tow the vehicles and steal whatever is of use to them. Quite a racket there. He didn't mind waiting for me while I was on the phone with my insurance company and deciding where to take her car. I can't speak to the services delivered by this company, but their driver is currently at our apartment complex in Woodland, CA to load up a car, and just urinated at our garbage area in plain view. State Farm sent A-1 Towing to my house for my "roadside assistance". My 75 corvette died halfway up my driveway and because of the slant, we couldn't push it up. Ian was the driver that came and he was awesome! For someone like me that knows nothing about cars, I thought it would be easy just to push the car up the driveway lol. This Company towed my daughters car after an accident at the request of the police. The car was not operable. I signed over ownership to A1 so they could sell the car which was suppose to cover all expenses. They claimed they only sold the car for $70. Yes $70. The engine had less then 50k miles. These tax dodging losers then sold a claim to collection for $2600 on top of keeping the money for selling the car which I can assure you was more then $70. The accident was less then 2 miles from the tow yard. ($2600????) What is the income tax bill on a sale of $70? The Collection company told me that they sale all of their cars for $70...Ha...What a scam. read more
