Horrible. They were over an hour late. I called and they said the delivery guy couldn't deliver it as no one was home.. There is no other street name in this town close to mine. I had my door open with the light on..Who do they think they are kidding.. They sent the pizza right out and it was slightly re heated so not only had most of my company gone home but the pizza tasted like leftovers slightly re-heated ..Ill never order from them again. read more

Okay A1!! I've lived in town 26 years and had never tried their pizza until last week, and it seems I've been missing out! As soon as I opened the pizza box, I knew it was going to be good. Tell me that isn't a picture perfect pizza! The flavor, sauce to cheese ratio, and crust were all great. Even reheated the next day it was still awesome! Definitely adding this one into our takeout rotation in town, and it might even become our new go-to! read more

A-1 Pizza - Pizza Near Me - Naugatuck, Connecticut

A 1 pizza pretty much tastes like mall pie. It's not bad, and I would have rated it higher if the sausage didn't taste like Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage crumbled on top. The other toppings compliment the pie more, but the crust, while it's not bad needs something extra. That's a review. read more

We luv luv luv A1 pizza!! everything is crazy good at a decent price. always fast friendly delivery! My address is hard to find but when i call they kno exactly where to find me . Several of my neighbors use them also! My favorite is chef salad, and margarita pizza. red. Try it. U won't be disappointed! read more

A-1 Pizza - a box of pizza - Pizza Near Me - Naugatuck, Connecticut

After living in Naugatuck for a year I finally stopped here and grabbed a grinder because I was jonesing for something a bit better than Subway, but it was a Sunday so Nardelli's was closed. The BLT grinder was pretty spot on, although the sandwich was a bit skimpy in size. The people working seemed to be pretty nice - the last review was a while ago, so maybe they've gotten rid of the pissy and rude employees. Eventually I'll have to try their pizza, but living by myself I usually shy away from ordering pizza so I don't eat the entire effing thing myself, haha read more

I like the folks here. They are really busy during dinner time which means people buy from here a lot. Food gotta be really good to be that busy. I had the baked ziti with meatball which was pretty good. It was $13 and that's why I give them 4 stars instead of 5. Definitely over priced. read more

A-1 Pizza - Ai Pizza - Pizza Near Me - Naugatuck, Connecticut

Below average pizza especially for the area. The restaurant just looks sad. It reminded me a frozen pizza, bland and nothing to write home about. So many better places to eat in the area, there's no reason to stop here. They do deliver but really subpar food. Grinder was okay as the bread was good, but they really skimped on the meat and it was dry. Just look at the picture I posted, the pizza toppings look plastic for God's sake. I will hand it to them, they didn't skimp on toppings. I'm not going to call it bad pizza as it is better than Bellisimo's, but A-1 is definitely below average. It's about on par with frozen pizza. read more

A-1 Pizza - Party pizza with the works. It was ok. - Pizza Near Me - Naugatuck, Connecticut

See all

My initial experiences with A-1 Pizza were mostly positive. The pizza was at least better than chain, but I wouldn't call it spectacular or anything. My subsequent experiences were far worse. After ordering a gyro from A1 it became apparent that there was little regard for whether or not the food would get delivered soggy. I had thought to myself that maybe that was just a one-off and decided to give it another go. I ordered a meatball grinder on my 3rd try. Again, soggy! It was neither tasty or crispy. It's not the worst I've ever had and as a result survives as a 2 star in my book. Not recommended. read more

This pizzeria makes as close to a NY pie you can get in this area. Pretty good! I like the garlic and pepperoni combo. The delivery is quick too. read more

Awesome little local pizza shop. I didn't feel like cooking tonight and it was either this or Frank Pepe's and long story short, this was the better choice. I'll definitely be going back here. Thanks guys for the awesome BBQ chicken pizza! read more

I can't comment on the food, but I can comment on the attitude of the employees and the boss. I called for delivery, the phone was answered with a very bored-sounding "A-1". That's it. Seriously? And the first phone number listed on their website is wrong. I ask if they deliver to Prospect, he asks where in Prospect. I understand that, but I'm off of a main road. He says he'll have to ask his boss. He comes back "Boss wants to know how much you gonna spend". Um....excuse me? Yes, I understand minimums. I understand everything that goes with delivering to an address not in 2 miles. So clearly their delivery and busy-ness are at a low that I'd be their only delivery, and they would only come out if I was going to spend a lot. It's the attitude. He couldn't give a sh*t if we ordered or not. There were many ways to convey that they wouldn't deliver a mere $10 worth of food to me way out here in the apparent boonies. I will never try this place because they are unprofessional and rude. read more

Our go-to pizza places we're both closed so we tried A-1... the food was excellent, salad was fresh, pizzas were delivered steaming hot. Will definitely be our new go-to delivery place! read more

I love A1. We used to order all the time; their wings are awesome as well as their wraps and curly fries. I've moved back to Naugatuck (the Eastern section; up in Indian Hills) and was surprised to find that our address is out of their delivery area, which makes me very sad. I had to go pick up my food (because I was dead set on having A1 for dinner!) and the employees behind the counter were courteous even at 9:30 at night. The restaurant itself looks a little run down, but the food is excellent. read more

I always give fair reviews for restaurants I visit. If the food is good, I can overlook average customer service. However, this place is WAY OVERPRICED for MEDIOCRE FOOD!!! A small order of buffalo wings (no celery available) and a meatball grinder = $18.00 (pick up price). Meatball grinder = 3 microwaved (luke warm) rubber balls, split in half, hidden in this chunky concoction they call sauce, and a mere hint of plasti-chesse. I know for a fact that the serving temperature was a food safety violation. Never again. Do yourself a favor, go elsewhere! read more

A-1 is great. They make the best buffalo chicken wraps that I have ever had (which is saying a lot, because it's mg favorite food.) Delivery is always fast and efficient. read more

All dramatics aside, this was inedible. I got stuffed shells and a side of meatballs. EVERYTHING was from the freezer. I threw it out! The meatballs, in particular, were disgusting. Still cold in the middle and very elastic. Taco Bell should get a Michelin Star when compared to A-1. They clearly spend more money to power up the obnoxious sign in their front window than they do on the food they serve you. Never again. read more

The pizza itself is definitely above average, but I honestly don't think you could have ruder employees and management. I feel like I'm walking into a place of slave labor and verbal abuse (from management towards employees) every time I go in there... but the pizza is worth a try. There are surely better places though. read more

So my boyfriend walks by here to get to work. He just called me saying we were to never order from here after he saw a pack of mice run out the back door of the place. No wonder why their food is ehh. read more

This is my go to place for delivery! I love the variety and everything I've tried has been delicious! Pizza is great and ingredients are fresh. Online ordering is easy and convenient. Delivery is on time and courteous. read more

Had a pizza delivered last night. My husband called and ordered an extra large legend pizza. The girl on the phone told us $22.28. When the guy can to deliver he told us the total was $25.28. We thought it was weird that we were given 2 different prices. My husband called after we got the delivery to again question the price, again we were told $22.28. Not sure if the delivery guy is adding a couple bucks on top of his deliveries to get more tips or what. But lesson learned to always ask for a receipt. Pizza was ok but probably won't order again from here in fear of getting ripped off. read more

This is the only place in Naugatuck I get pizza. I recommend my personal favorite broccoli and feta cheese pizza with some of thier blue cheese dressing as a dipping sause. Drives are always fast and nice. Deff a hidden gem in Naugatuck. read more

Great guys and delicious pizza my family and i been ordering pizza from here for many years...

I get food from here a couple times a month. Their pizza is very good except for their vegetarian pizza. It's very soggy and not edible. I love veggie pizza( I'm not into pepperoni, sausage, bacon, mushroom etc.). If they made their veggie pizza more solid and not soggy I would definitely order from A-1 a couple times a week. Also their hot grinders are very soggy also. Their salads are good except I'm not a fan of the droopy lettuce. read more

pizza was dry and generic.. barely passible. I asked for the soup of the day, which happen to be chicken noodle. turned out to be a heated up can of Progresso soup. I could have opened up a can from my cabinet for a quarter the price. called to question this and the guy said no,no,no and hung up on me.. never ever eat here unless you like getting ripped off read more

I'm giving them 4 stars because we always get great service. The food can be hit or miss though. I order from here at least a couple of times a month and it's usually really good. However, I've ordered red pies that have barely any sauce, and I've gotten a couple of salads I wasn't so sure about. But they're quick, the people on the phone are nice, the delivery guy is cool, and 90% of the time the food is really good. read more

I recently decided to change where I was getting pizza from and gave A1 a try...I am not disappointed at all. The pizza and the appetizers I ordered were incredibly good, and the food was prepared promptly. The employees there were very friendly and accommodating. I 100% recommend going here for your pizza. read more

Their drivers have a very bad habit of adding at least $2-$3 dollars to your order. The two times it happened to me I asked to see the receipt and sure enough they lied about the amount. I paid the exact amount for my food both times, and after the second time, I never tipped them again. Unfortunately they're the only pizza place open on Monday's in Naugatuck that deliver. And I have no choice but to order from them because I am homebound read more

i loved there pizza, was made fresh and the driver came so fast to my house even though it was snowing hard that day, best place for delivery in naugatuck, the drivers name was naz, great guy read more

This was a major dissapointment. I made this account just to inform the concerned people of Naugatuck that this place sucks actual balls. My name, is infact, not Susan d. ( d for dissapointment), but rather I decided to change my name to this after acquiring a less than exciting buffalo chicken wrap from a1 pizza. Let's go through all the aspects of the wrap that disappointed me today...... 1) they probably took the wrap and wiped their ass with it seeing as it was quite trashy. 2) the chicken tasted like rubber (SURPRISE THE RUBBER FACTORY IS BACK IN NAUGY) 3) the hot sauce was probably sitting in a tub from China, that was pissed in by the rats behind the restauraunt. 4) the cheese tasted like the scum between my toes and made my nose cringe. 5) the fries that accompanied by bullshit chicken wrap were soggy, barely salty, and quite reminiscent of the Irish potato famine when they had to use squash as substitute. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME IN READING THIS- mozzarella sticks were yummy but overpriced Ty Ty have a grand day :) read more
