I am not a complainer, but worse than poor service, I dislike deceit. Today, we called A-1 Locksmith to unlock our full-size door that allows you to enter the storage area under our home. We had misplaced the keys and could not get in and we needed access to our water heater. Several times, my husband asked, "$85.00, correct?"--it should have been obvious we needed a definitive and total cost. After arriving and getting the door unlocked, the technician said it would be an additional $25 if we wanted the keys. WHAT??? Who would think if we had a locked door originally, and told him we had lost our keys, that we wouldn't want to lock the door again and would need the keys to unlock it in the future? This is no different than asking and getting a price, and then after the work is done, saying we also have to pay $.50 a mile for for the distance between their office and our home. It would have been SO easy to give us that information regarding the necessary keys UPFRONT, when they were repeatedly asked for the price. Had they done that, we still would have used them. However, since they chose to hide that information, we will not only NOT use them again, but we will tell others not to call them. Honesty is always the best policy. read more

Always refreshing to see a company that is customer oriented. I had a chance to meet the owner who was able to program two of my Honda Accord keys where Home Depot wasn't able to do it. I bought Ebay replacement keys that are not clonable (found this out after the fact) by places like Lowes or Home Depot. Accidentally locked my keys in my car late at night, but since it wasn't an emergency, I decided that I didn't need anyone til the morning. However, that night I contacted 3 locksmiths to see who could come out the earliest. A-1 messaged me back immediately (again, late at night) saying they could send someone in the morning. Upon arriving, Khled was super friendly and professional. The best part? He had my car opened and keys out in LESS than 60 seconds. The entire length of the time he arrived through the end of payment and a handshake was 5 minutes total. I couldn't be more pleased! When we called we were greeted by a friendly but an almost unintelligible gentleman who told us that they would arrive in about half an hour. After waiting about 45 minutes, we called back and were unable to reach him. After repeated attempts at contact and over an hour later we finally got him again and were told that we were too far away. We ended up calling some other company to resolve our issue. read more

Once they confirmed that it was the correct blank they proceeded to "cut" the key for me. They were very professional and courteous. They're pricing is extremely fair as well. I just received their services and it was horrible. I waited beyond the time they stated. They lack communication with each other. The driver did not have my address but he had my number. He called me and I gave him my address over the phone while he was driving but that didn't help him. We had to hang up, rejoin the call then I had to text him my location. My husband took two broken key fobs, one for our Acura and the other for our Infiniti, to A-1. We purchased the unprogrammed fobs online and then took them to A-1 to be programmed and cut. The gentlemen at A-1 couldn't have been more hospitable or knowledgable. The Acura fob was straightforward but the Infiniti fob was more difficult because of the push-button start. Great service. I had a very similar experience as Chris W. I bought a 2016 Ford truck from Carmax that only came with one key/fob. I bought another one online but the dealerships I contacted either didn't have a laser cutter to cut the key or wanted over $100 to cut and program it. One dealership referred me to a mobile locksmith named Todd who was initially just unpleasant to speak with but then became downright rude after I told him I bought the key online.
