I'll get straight to the point, they are pricey but man the value and quality is on point. Legit, if you are a car guy/girl we are very insecure about other ppl handling our cars. I don't feel one oz of that when I come here. I believe I've been here twice already for pretty much the important fluid change, gear/transmission, etc done. Reason is they have a combo of fluid to get rid of the crappy harsh grinding when I shift from 2nd-3rd gear. I also had my cmc replaced here. I believe I got the maperformance one, and they replaced it like in 4-5hrs I think. No more brake fluid leak... one thing I wish they would have done was grease the clutch pedal.... It took me a while to figure why it squeal so much. If you have an Evo they are like experts for this platform. I highly recommend them for your peace of mind if you don't know what you're doing.

My car was what could only be described as mechanically "rough"; I bought it about a year ago as somebody else's project and managed to get it running but just barely. Basically, the head needed rebuilding and was in need of a valve job, the engine itself needed rebuilding, the fuel system needed replacing, as well as the brakes and electrical components to get it street legal. Awesome Z was thorough and thoughtful about the whole thing and comparatively speaking surprisingly affordable. There are shops in Houston that say they work on Datsuns but Awesome Z really has a passion for them. Go in there shop and all you'll see are S30 chassis, some S130s, and occasionally more modern Z cars. You'll also find a crew very knowledgeable about the cars they work on will give you plenty of options on which way you want to take your build. I can't wait to continue working with them, they definitely have a customer for life.

After meeting Keaton, they took their time on a Saturday to prep my car for a roadtrip (installing skid guard) and told me to come in for something minor a few days later. Without having to wait, they took care of it on the spot at the time we agreed and even put an engine cover on my car without me asking for it. I find Keaton very honest and he's truly passionate about what he does, taking you through nooks and crannies of your car. People rarely talk so passionately about their work like he does. After a few…read morehours, of probing, testing, finger biting, cursing, nearly electrocuting my friend and tool throwing I found out that my starter wire was bad. The wire from the starter to the starter solenoid had to be replaced. Being referred to Cal Electric from an electrician who doesn't deal with 12V systems, I gave Robert (the manager) a call. I described my problem over the phone and he quickly told me that he would be able to help me. I grabbed my starter and bolted to Cal Electric. Robert looked at my sad starter and told me it would cost 35.00 to fix and it should only take an hour or so. I was excited because a new starter would cost me 250.00. When I came back to pick up my starter, it became the smiling starter as Robert fixed the broken wire and only charged me 30.00! He even tested the starter and the starter solenoid for me too! This place is very professional and I was very satisfied with the work. Now that I've got the starter system fixed, I need to start looking at the ignition system. =( I would appreciate any advice from fellow yelpers that are mechanics or would like to help me! =)

Kept my truck for 7 weeks and had to pay in advance the full amount. Even so they had my truck as collateral. No cash flow to cover the parts. Don't expect a discount, they are proud of their billing. When owner confronted why 3 weeks to diagnose the truck no substantial answer but closed on the weekend. The reality you are no longer a customer but a hostage. The parking lot looks like a junk yard on dirt. Better to get a detailing job after the experience. The cherry on the cake was sent home with no oil in the truck. Lucky I checked when at home. Made me question the integrity of the job completed. Time to go back to basic customer services and get little bit more humble with humility.
