Used to love the Nine's. Was there last night and had the fish tacos. The fish batter was overcooked and there was hardly any fish in them. I mentioned to our waitress that they were overcooked to which she replied "I didn't cook them." REALLY that's the reply you should give? Guess she was having a bad day and took it out on me. After that she did say she would replace them with other tacos but at that point I didn't even want them. I don't know just an overall bad experience. read more

Just writing this hoping the GM will read this. I frequent this location and I am usually very pleased. I was there today around 130pm . Melissa was attentive and friendly as usual. Had the onion soup. Yuck. Sent it back. All bread, little cheese and visually unappealing. I ordered a BBQ chicken sandwich. The chicken breast was tough and chewy. The quality of the chicken was very poor. I ordered a fried chicken sandwich to go. Picture is below. Yuck, again. Not sure if the food distributor has changed? If the kitchen staff is new? The food was still good but there was a limited waitstaff and as we were leaving we heard someone say a mouse ran off their foot in the kitchen.... Not what you want to hear as a customer. I just had lunch at the 99 Restaurant in Pembroke, MA with my 92-year-old mom. She got the Fish and Chips and I had the Lobster Roll weekend special with soup and dessert (delicious strawberry and cream cake). Both of our meals were fabulous. What I really wanted to comment on was the staff. We were greeted by a friendly hostess. Our server, Jill, was great and apologized for how busy it was but still managed to get our food to us quickly. She, and the kitchen manager, John, managed to calm down a rude customer who was screaming through the restaurant and accosted Jill yelling that "all she wanted to do was pay her bill!!" Mind you, Jill was not her server but she stepped in along with John to get the problem solved and get the customer on her merry way. They really worked nicely to support each other and this is one of the reasons I have been a repeat customer for over 15 years!! Mercury is in retrograde for another three weeks my friends so the craziness will be continuing! Thank you for another epic meal at the 99!! read more

Yesterday, I would have given this place five stars. I often drop in Monday nights after work, and order from the "$9.99" section of the menu. I ALWAYS order the salad as my side, and have never had a problem with doing that, but tonight was a different story. The waitress (who had "TRAINER" on her name tag) refused to give me what i wanted, saying that it wasn't allowed. When i told her i had had this exact combination at 3 other 99 restaurants, and also many times at this one, she haughtily replied that the others "weren't doing their job right" (SERIOUSLY?). She then presumed to ARGUE with me about it and got the manager who argued with me some more. At that point I cancelled my order and WALKED OUT. I could tell that my blood pressure was rising because of their obnoxious, snooty, and didactic attitude. People don't go out to eat to get LECTURED. With at least six other restaurants within walking distance, it is absurd that these two would willingly cause a faithful repeat customer actual PHYSICAL distress with their lousy attitudes. 5 stars based on comparing it to similar chain restaurants... no this is not a 5 star dining kind of place. This 99 has great, friendly service. Consistently reliable food. Good prices. And it is in an easy to access location just off the highway on Rt. 123. The 99 is clean and they are often giving to local charities. The steaks have come a long way and I feel as though this location is constantly improving. It is definitely better than it was several years ago. New menu just came out too and there are a few more tasty options. read more

The only good thing about going here the other night was our sweet waitress...that's all folks! The flavor was decent...but seafood...yeah...I was fishing around in there and I saw some clams and baby shrimp (like the ones that are the size of your finger nail). I got the mushroom blue entrée which featured the "prime" sirloin, topped with blue cheese, accompanied by steamed broccoli and grilled tomatoes. I knew it was going to suck, I'm such a jackwagon for even ordering it, tisk tisk. Obviously the steak was overcooked and tough, shit piece of steak....when the veggies are the best thing that you ate that's a problem. The boy got the fried seafood platter...eh..schmeh...whatever. Hubs and I came here with friends of ours and their kids. There is only one word to sum up "The Ninety Nine Experience" as I like to say: consistent. The food is always consistent. Great? Nah, not really. Terrible? Nah, not really. We were seated quickly in a large booth for the six of us. Our server was very polite, she knew the menu inside and out and rattled off the specials with no hesitation. Drinks first, then came popcorn, and then came our entrees. One person in the group ordered prime rib that was served more rare than "medium" but our server quickly remedied the situation and the problem was taken care of. I stick with the balsamic chicken that although isn't "authentic" (I can tell the sauce is straight from a bottle), it's never really disappointing. When paired with steamed broccoli, it's not terrible health-wise (just don't look at the sodium content). Overall, consistent food, good service, and okay prices. So, don't write it off too quickly. read more

The delivery service from the Pembroke 99 stinks! We ordered 2 meals (over 30 dollars worth of food) tonight. It was supposed to be delivered by 5:30. When our order was not delivered by that time, I called the 99 and was told that their delivery service is "Door Dash". As more time went by I called back twice and finally spoke with a Manager (now this was at 6:30). She told me then that her records showed that the ortder had been delivered. We then went outside to check, and sure enough the bag with our order was sitting on our front porch. The driver never rang the bell, or knocked on our door. We never heard or saw him/her, so we did not know that the delivery had arrived. When we opened the take out boxes inside our house, both orders were stone cold and we had to "nuke" both of them so they would be warm enough to eat. Once re-heated, both meals were fine...chicken parm for me, and steak tips for my wife. Lesson learned...do not trust "Door Dash" to do the right thing. The next time, we will pick up our order ourselves with the 99 curb side pick up service. read more

If you come from an ethnic background, this is NOT the place for you. My family and I came on a quiet Friday and our server still paid NO attention to us. This is my third trip here, hoping to get different service each time, 99 Restaurant of Pembroke failed. Yet again. I continued to get pushed to the side as if I wasn't a paying customer. Dropped into the 99 for dinner again tonight. This is one my favorite places to sit at the bar and have a meal and a few drinks. The bartenders are great and quick to serve a drink even during the dinner rush. Melissa, Lisa, and Leigh are some of my favorite bartenders on the south shore! I always consider how a restaurant cooks it steaks to be the benchmark that I measure it's cooking staff with. The 99 restaurant cooks the steaks exactly as ordered.. This even extends to the steak tips, which tend to be overcooked everywhere else I order them. The lighter fare choices on the menu are excellent as well, I don't leave you wishing you had more to eat. read more

I cannot express how grateful I am to have such an accommodating and friendly restaurant right in our town. My Mom has a gluten sensitivity and some other medical issues that make dining out extremely difficult. The 99, to my surprise has gluten free bread and rolls (which surprisingly most restaurants that boast of gluten free options do not have) and are super careful to check in about your allergies, sensitivities etc. they made accommodations to her meal and really made her feel comfortable and at ease. They were willing to make any sandwich gluten free, not just the few on the gluten free menu. I also order my burgers bun free and they didn't bat an eye. read more

Reasonable Prices...Popcorn for the kids...great family restaurant very clean location and well maintained off of rte 3 exit 12 on way to cape. Kids love it and the food is good. The bar is fun with TVS for sports... This one is better than most of the chains restaurants. read more

I love all the 99's locations around the south shore! Always delicious food! Alcoholic Drinks aren't very strong but I don't go to the 99 for the drinks! Buffalo sauce is amazing, fish and chips is to die for, steak tips also great! Nothing is ever bad here! read more
